Changing the governing system completely is not necessary to make laos a better country. What is needed is a good, knowledgable, capable leaders who understand what laos problems are and devise ways to over come them. For me, one of the importanting priorities, are to get large lao populations to be very educatede . That will be the foundation of laos long term security. Once ppl are educated and capable and thoughtful, the rest of the goodness will follow.

According to a popular Vietnamese legend, Laotians are our brothers who thousands of years ago decided to stay in the highlands while the Vietnamese moved down to live near the sea. If I'm not mistaken, Laotians have a similar legend as well. I'm a fan of Lao people and culture, and I'd love to believe that. Lao culture is the most peaceful culture in the world. I pray that they keep their culture forever ;-)
