I got a ton of respect for Bill Walsh and the way he helped turn that team around and its a good thing that Eddie Debartolo jr hired him. Bill was Paul Browns Assistant coach and Paul was going to hire him till he hired that bill johnson guy then that broke Bill in tears but he got the best of them in the end RIP Bill Walsh.
about 75% of the teams in the NFL still use some form of his offense. He was running that offense when he was with Cincinnati in the 70's. So he was pretty much 40 years ahead of everybody. And THATS why hes the greatest ever and THATS why hes "the Genius"
Happy Birthday Mr. Walsh...

The only time I ever saw my pop's cry...
Was the day he heard the news that Walsh had inevitably passed away.
At the time I didn't understand;
& to be honest... I still don't fully understand?
I wish I could've been just a little bit older during the 80's... in order to comprehend what the 9ers organization must have meant to the bay-area.
The list of legendary players & coaching disciples just goes on & on & on?
The ownership must have been so much different than it is today?

Thank you, Coach... For all that you did & showed us in the Bay Area. Growing up in SF during the 80s was irreplaceable. Rest in Peace.
