Eric is classic skool and Robert is that newer high energy skool. Players seem to get better all the time with the licks. Musicians just borrow the best of everything polish it, mix it up and make their sounds. Its all good you can draw from anything if your in the zone to pick up on right vibe.

Robert Randolph is quite incredible and Clapton should kiss his ass! Clapton is great but so is Randolph. Cannot acknowledge one while dismissing the other.

If you've ever seen Doyle Bramhall II before, you'd know that his body language is pretty normal for him....he's a journeyman guitarist with a really good gig...it's what he gets paid for. Was that old Billy Preston on organ? RR is a superb musician - would love to hear RR and BP together without the rest of 'em - although t has to be said that Clapton is a great multi-tasker: he can, at one and the same time, tap his foot while playing guitar and it is rumoured he can even chew gum and walk at the same time. Awesome!

Anyway, if I was as talented as ec, I would show respect and thanks to "everyone" for their incredible contribution. @glenneveaux At a show like that the rest of the band is a "core" band and plays most of the set with him. Robert was just a guest on that song, maybe a few more. Clapton would've credited the others at another time.

Great. Saw RR and the Family in Telluride a few years ago they rocked. And for all the people who think it is so fashionable to try and piss in Claptons cheerios. I have followed Clapton since the 60's and he has never proclaimed himself to be anything other than a blues guitarist. He is more than well aware that he stood on the shoulders of giants. And now, Clapton is a giant. So for all you detractor and wannabees.... post a few hundred of your songs and concerts....I'll listen.

RDRCRXR: who are you trying to kid? Eric is one the greatest blues players to ever live. This style is precisely what he does time and time again. Robert does a hell of job; as does Billy Preston but this is truly Eric's song on this outing. No one owns the stage, and does so as graciously, as Eric Clapton.

man i saw this show front row in cayuhoga heights (30 miles from claptons american home town) and robert randolph shit in claptons cereal.....totally stole the show....1 song encore, each take solo, RR head and shoulders better and more technical, no way to argue against it....clapton put on a weak show, washed up if u ask me......still a legend though....long live 1960s....long live robert, one of best musicians walking planet today
