  • lol hes like "I'm Just a Walkin"

  • She'll be a lot bigger

  • its illegal to have alligator turtles in california:(

  • put them in the same tank nothins gona happen

  • haha very cute turtle long tail :o

  • You are so tender and caring with your turtles how cute

  • What is wrong with you? You should just get punched in the face!

    Heh, I'm just jealous.... lol

You have some pretty Red Eared Sliders, I'm very jealous of the baby Alligator Snapping Turtle.

This video was in 2008. How is the Alligator Snapper now?

  • @ricardordrgs LOL I thought u were serious for a second

the snapper is now 12cm long SCL, she is the heaviest turtle in my home

  • @cross7fu Nice so the Alligator Snapper turtle is a female?

  • mines really small he was just bron prolly like 3 days ago he wont eat anything

  • @owenmf if it is a newborn it should have a yolk on its belly, it can provide energy to the baby so it doesnt need to eat for the first few days

put it into the water wif water level just above the shell, wait for few more days and put small fish and shrimps in it see if it starts fishing

  • @owenmf Have you told your big turtles that you have another baby LOL

  • @owenmf Have you told your big turtles that you have another baby LOL so they wont get jealouse

  • What does a baby snapping turtle eat? just interested.

  • @redstorm15612 small pellets and fish

  • were did u buy one?how much was it?Plz reply or ill kill u in ur dreams!(jk about kill in dream)

  • @metroid158 lol I thought that was the best way to die

I got it in here Canada, it was $125CAD

  • CUTE !!

  • Thats a cute turtle :D

  • Ohh yours doesnt actually try to attack you 24/7?

Other videos they bite the guy all the time lol

  • cool turle

  • That tank is WAY too small for him

  • Aww they are so cute. This one is not so agressive, I like these when they are small. My friend has a big one in his pool/garage.

  • is is it hard to care for

  • @gecko091 not if u have enough space to keep one, they can reach 2 feet SCL with 2nd strongest jaw in the world, not for beginner forsure

  • @cross7fu see one over 37inches at newport KY aquarium ,180lbs of turtle

  • Do they bite you?and if you keepem in a atank will they stay the same size?

  • @Adamkhang18 if its scared it will, they'll keep growing until the body reached the size of the tank

  • Awesome. He's so cute.

I found a little tiny baby one that's about the size of a house key a few days ago but I'm not quite sure what to feed it. Any suggestions?

  • @WingLiger496 wow thats tiny, if its a common snapper u can feed it fish and chicken in bite-size, crickets from petstore, and try turtle pellets as well, but if its an ali. snapper I'm not sure if they'll eat anything except live fish, so u need to find some really small feeder fish...

but honestly if it comes from the wild, let it go back to the wild, they'll find their way to live=]

  • @cross7fu Well it looks like the turtle in the video, soI'm gonna asumme it's a gator snapper. Right now we've got him eating lettuce and turtle pellets and it seems to do the trick for now (he's refusing meat, oddly enough)

We don't plan on keeping him as a pet. It's really just for the winter. Come summer we're gonna let him go back where we found him.

  • @WingLiger496 I see, thats great, try to feed some fish too, just to balance the nutrition

  • god damn i didn't know that these have such a long tail (compared to their body size)

  • lil godzilla

  • @bidaica999x actually check out Godzilla's friend Gamera

  • can it snaps, yet? do you know what age or how big that they can snap, whenever you touch them?

  • @le022691 check this out

    BpoMQZumstI

  • @cross7fu huh?

  • @le022691 replace the last part of this video link with BpoMQZumstI

  • Since you raising this one from scratch will they still bite you when they get older?

  • @0Milk0 oh yea for sure

  • @cross7fu

Ha that sucks figured they be people tame after a while, hence the name.

  • i want 1 but i dont know if its legal in Washington D.C. or just any snapping turtle and if it gets really big ill give it to the zoo

  • @OMGMunkay well u have to ask them if they'll take it, not every zoo has the knowledge and space to keep an adult snapper

  • @cross7fu well i duno if theres a way to keep a huge turtle then im only 14 i dont got that much money for a tank

  • @OMGMunkay u can buy a storage tub from walmart, some of them are pretty big and they can last for years, but eventually snapping turtles are gonna get really big, always plan ahead for your pets, especially these big monsters

  • lol chinese pencils xD

  • do they make good pets?

  • @Amatersaru1 well they are very easy to take care of, they are not sensitive to water condition and they eat almost anything (of course u should feed them aquatic creatures and turtle pellet as main diet), but they can reach 2 feet and they have powerful jaws that can bite off your finger easily, so be4 u get one of these u really need to educate yourself,u definitely need a pond to room it when its full grown, and keep it away from kids and other pets

  • Since these are endangered in Kentucky (Where I live) We aren't aloud to keep them as pets without a permit. There's also one that lives in my pond. Its huge we found it on the bank like 4 weeks ago. It domintates the other turtles we bactually bought as pets. Lol.

  • @cameron101cj lol, so u kinda "own" a snapper (for free!)

I wish I could breed snappers and release them to their place of origin, hate to see these majestic creatures listed endangered

  • How come it isn't all pissed off?

  • @marlonfresco nope

  • can u tame a snapping turtle?

  • soooo cute!

  • K00l,you live in Ontario too? Where is this?

  • @USMCjunior117 yup, around Toronto

  • @cross7fu Me too, just out of curoisity, are these turtles hard to maintain?

  • @USMCjunior117 well snappers are not for beginners forsure, but actually they are really easy to take care of since they are really strong animals and they can live in very harsh conditions(temperature, water condition), filter is not necessary as long as u do water change every few days, and UV light as well coz they live in the water for most of the time

  • @USMCjunior117 (continue...)

The mainly concern of keeping them are safety, space and nutritious diet, they can reach 2 feet long and they've got 2nd strongest jaw pressure in the world, thats why they are not good for beginners, and its better to train they to eat pellets when they are small, so u can feed them both live food and pellets for a more balance diet

  • Aww, and hes not even mean...yet

  • Where did you get him.

  • such a long tail

  • Dang he walks really slowly. And he has a huge tail. My Baby turtle is extremely fast for some reason.

  • Wow cool turtle. Not scared of anything

  • do you actually keep him in that tub

  • only for the first month

shes living in a 36" dog pool now

  • we used to have one of those in my science class. thing was cool

  • cool

    how bout now?

  • @cross7fu teacher probrobably let it go, well you tell me, how large will those get to in 6 years?

  • it depends on the living condition, normally about 50cm

  • ah, its a cool turtle, ill totally want one when i get a little bit settled

  • they are easy to take care of, except u need a lot of space when they get bigger=]

  • ive got a 2 month old res and he bites super hard so an alligator snapping turtle would bite much harder

  • How big is it going to grow?

  • about 24" shell length

  • Aren't you afraid that it will bite you and you'll lose a finger?

  • shes not big enough to bite my finger off rite now, but I'll be more caution as she grows

  • are alligator snappers illegal in nj?

  • im not sure...

  • i want to get one of these for christmas this year

  • winter is not a good season to get new reptiles tho...just make sure u get the setup and temp ready be4 purchasing it

  • were there other turtles at the expo? i want to get a box turtle but i dont know if they are expensive...

  • yes but not much

boxes are pretty expensive, but they cost lesser than aquatics on equpiments

  • how much did you pay

  • $125

  • love ur annotations

  • damn he looks badass lol, he's a little larger then mine. i'm sure yours is alot bigger by now. good thing he wasn't in the tank with the other turlte they would have tried to eat him. i learned that the hard way with and older and younger turtle.

  • thx, she gets a little bit bigger

I only put my RES together, others are one turtle per tank

  • Ok, now I feel stupid... first thing I thought was "Woah, I'd really want to know where to get some of those giant pencils"

Then I saw your hand and.... uh.... well..... haha XD silly me :p

I have a snapping turtle. Her shell is 50 cm long :O

  • hahaha

I think my snapper was wondering the same thing

  • The most scariest thing about them is how easy you can get them :OO

  • lol so true

  • I found one just a little bigger on a camping trip (ohio) and he bit me. i cared for him then released im in a river very near to where i found him. they are very cool when small, but very hard to care for once large. and you cant dump them, they wouldnt know how to eat. so i recomend only get one if you can care for it once it grows up. i am a reptile lover! =]

  • agree

and glad to hear u release it back to the wild instead of taking it away=]

  • god damn look at the tail on that motherfucker!

  • i thought it was gonna snap at u, i geuss its tame

  • they are not ugly and did you know they can get up to 190 pounds when full grown adults?!? I have two and they grew 6 inches there first year. Again they are NOT ugly to each his own!! cool video too by the way.

  • thx=]

    mines growing really slow

shes been here for 10 months, she was 4cm long, now only 7.2cm

  • they were born to look like a rock or wood, hide at the bottom of river, lure fish wif their worm-like tongue

its natural camouflage, isnt that cool!=]

  • I'm getting 2 free from a friend

  • cool, make some vid when u get them=]

  • i want one sooo bad but i heard there like 300$ ....they look so prehistoric... 5 stars

  • it cost around $300CAD @ petshop, $125 @ reptile expo, but u need more than $300 for the tank, equipment, food and money in case it needs to see the vet

  • how much is that american??lol

  • Turtleman . com has them for only 75$!!

  • thank soo muchh!!!!

  • you can get two for 90.00 or so from the turtleman in mo u.s.a only i think. look for his web site i got two mailed them next day and we named them bert and ernie hatchlings as well still had yoke belly button on. Joseph T (fly2000jtb)

  • thankss ...iam deff goinn to checkk that outt

  • lol long tail i hav 2 yellow belly sliders

  • u have red eared sliders

  • how much did you pay for that? in canadian?

  • $125CAD

  • i want tht

  • look at the size of that tail!

  • haha cute vid!!

    made me lol

  • adorable!!!!!!!!!

  • aaaaw its so small and cute!!

  • haha thx

  • 5/5 XD he likes you! but that other turtle doesnt seem to like that turtle...

  • enjoy the sweetness while it last cause it dose go away and gets replaced with anger and hunger

  • turrles are cool pets you can keep them your how life

  • where in ontairio did you get that?

  • Ontario Reptile Expo, takes place in Mississauga

  • how much did he cost?

  • $125 CAD

  • this is the first alligator snapping turtle I've seen thats not so aggressive when out of water.

  • wow dont u scare of its bite?

  • I have a video of them, i'll upload it later.

  • Man, you sure love reptiles do you? Are you a chinese?

  • Yup, they are so cool and cute

    And yes, I am chinese=]

  • Wow, I have 2 red eared sliders myself, but i keep them in shallow waters and in separate tanks, is it alright?

  • Well RES are great swimmers, as long as u give them a dry land(like floating turtle dock) u can put as much water as u want

Its good to separate them coz they might bite each other

  • Comment removed

  • But the water is too shallow for them to swim, is it ok?

  • Not so good, they need water to swim, which is exercise to them, and wif more water the water quality goes bad slower

Also aquarium heaters will overheat and break if it expose to the air, which may happen if the water is too shallow and u forgot to refill the evaporated water

  • you know he will outlive you.

  • I know, I'll leave her to my children, and I'll jump into the pond be4 I die to give her a big meal

  • lol you have one of them too?? damn you like reptiles alot! i dont like snakes, and i have a kid so i can have one of these.

  • Haha thx, I love them, but not as crazy as my friends

The bad thing about snakes is u need to feed them mice/rats, and not everyone of them eat frozens

But the good thing is they only eat once a week, and some snakes like corn and hognose are pretty small and so tame that even children can handle them

  • whered you get the thing that warms the water?

  • U can find aquarium heater in most of the petshops

  • i never knew their tales are that long i want one now

  • It wont get that long when they grow up

If u wanna get one of these, make sure u got enough space for them, u got basic knowledge about taking care of a turtle and understand they are not friendly animals when they grow up

  • nice aligater snapping turtle,i got my turtles from Reptile rangler in barrie and critter cove in orillia, ontario!

  • That turtle is gonna be the ultimate badass in about 50 years. Can't they live alot longer than humans?

  • Yes they can live up to 150+ years lol

  • HOLY Cow!!!!

  • Thankssssssss

  • how much?

  • $125CAD, great price

    they usually cost $200-300@store

  • I tell you what?? That is the cutest turtle ever :D Love your vid men.
