  • Why are the ones in the front not LED

  • @whatyousayingowen I just bolted a bracket to the bottom of the siren and then bolted it to the grill on the outside of the grill

  • only if your an emergency responder in Ohio. And if if i wasnt, as long as you dont turn them on while driving you can have whatever you want on your vehicle.

  • Wait is this legal?

  • @narutogum22 Yes, if your a vol. firefighter

  • lol, sounds like a tornado siren.

  • whats up with the pa300

  • boring...

  • Good lights on the bumper. Put a set of those by the windshield posts.

  • Where did you mount the speaker for the siren. I have a '93 that I am trying to equip, but cannot figure out where to put the speaker. I was going to put it between the grill and radiator/ ac thing, but it won't fit.

  • are the little white led's on the bumper custom?

  • fire truck??????

  • Check out my videos of my truck. 2000 chevy silverado emergency lights. Daytime and night time videos. Wired it all myself. Built the interior light bar also. Comment for any questions or comments

  • are those red and white or amber and white? in the video they look amber and white.

  • just wondering where you got the parts for the lightbar that you made

  • why not use the pa300 that's on top of the carson

  • What service are you in? Fire?

  • what siren?

  • @burtonthegrt1 i know right. so much better

  • hell yea

  • what meens "pov" ?????

  • @weaponexpert1 point of view

  • @weaponexpert1 private owned vehicle

  • Willing to sell the carson? I am from Hinckley Ohio I noticed the Ohio plates

  • Well when you only have $80 to build a lightbar, you work with what you can afford...

  • @sleesman01 Amen, i love the diy aspect of your lightbar, not many people even think of making their own.

    Video of it at Night!!

    BTW

i just built a lightbar that will outshine most current lightbars, using individual 3 Watt leds, 12 in total, on a $120 budget. Will post soon to come.

  • I'm looking to upgrade my led to the gen3 3 led modules, if I may ask, where did you find yours so cheap? Thanks!

  • @sleesman01 If you know about electronics, i bought and made each module.

    Per module

2 White Cree Q2 2W Leds (12 in total)(Can Sub with Green blue and red)

    2 Oval reflectors (12 total)

1 700ma Led Driver hooked in series to the 2 Leds (6 total)

    1 ChangChung 6 output led Director (1)

If your interested PM me and i tell you the places to get these

  • @sleesman01 are you a member of a fire department?

  • yes, a volunteer in Ohio

  • @sleesman01 I agree. Start with what we have : )

  • what light bar is on top?

  • It is a custom lightbar I built with 8, 22 bulb led modules that I bought on ebay

  • what sound unit is that ?? it is what i have been looking for but i can't c what model it is i c that its a carson

  • what version of the carson is that??

  • Not bad up top but the ones down from the grill are old as hell lol we have them on our water truck at the dept. and it is old :P.

  • actually they are new. They are just halogen foglights with a red lense and hooked up to a galls wig wag unit. only 2 years old

  • @sleesman01 Oh ok i see check out my setup here it's pretty new.

  • @locktok123 on my channel that is

  • where did you get those light on the windshield from

  • How'd you learn to install all those? I'm joining my VFD soon and will need to install sirens and lights like you. You got that visor light bar off eBay? I don't know what is bright and good quality...and sirens I don't know what is loud and good quality...

  • The biggest thing to remember when installing lights and sirens is that everything is just pos and neg wires for power. if you remember that, you cant screw up an installation as long as you can tell the difference between the two. and concerning the lights, i actually custom made the lightbar using led panels i bought off of ebay and wired them to a flahser unit. its very simple really. and its bright enough to be seen from 2 miles away at nigth and its bright as hell during the day.

  • Okay. Thanks for that info. Do I get an amplifier to put the pos and neg lines to? I mean otherwise I'll have 20 different lines clamped to my battery huh? So i thought loudness is determined by the type of speaker you have? You have to buy a carson siren box and then a speaker huh? or do you have to buy a carson, amp, and speaker? the bigger speaker, the louder right? Or does it vary from brand to brand?

  • the loudness is determined by both your siren box and your speaker what i run is a whelen 200 watt siren box with 2,100 watt speakers.

  • also I am kind of partial to carson sirens. Ive had everything from code 3 to wellen to galls sirens and carson seems to be the loudest and has the most options for the price. not to mention that they have a variety of sizes with remote heads if you dont have a ton of room to mount a full size unit. Im not sure also what type of vehicle you have but the only reason i went with a visor light is that i have a softtop on my jeep, if you can afford it whelen mini edge strobe lightbars are good

  • im not a big fan of the ebay lights...but oh well lol

  • awsome setup.1 ques. tho how do get the lights to flash like that on the visor im trying to make a da vor my unmarked car and i cant get a flasher for them.please msg me.thank you be safe.

  • I actually bought a sho-me brand 8 led flasher for $30 on ebay. you can hook it up to any led unit with 8 led heads.

  • Where'd you get the light controller from? Those LED's on the visor area look like the ebay ones that I have... :D

  • I got the sho-me flasher form ebay, and the lights are also the 22 led lights from ebay, I personally think they are good lights for the price.

  • yeah same i have blue leds front and rear and a roof beacon - will upload a vid soon after my exams@sleesman01

  • whatgs POV stand for

  • Personally owened vehicle.

  • not sure i would even move out your way driving that

  • really? whys that?

  • Kinda looks fake to me

  • thats why you have a siren and a plaquerd on the front that says fire dept in big red letters. Hell, Ive even had state troopers and county sheriffs pull over for me. and when people dont pull over, then we report your plate number to the local police department and your issued a citation for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. But when you live in a town with a volunteer dept, the people just know to pull over for anything with a flashing light and a loud siren

  • Well here in atlanta there not to many jeeps with flashing lights The front 2 red lights look homemade..

  • Actually they are 2 halogen headlights with red lenses that are made for warning lights. Believe it or not, actually 70%of all fire depts in the country are volunteer depts where this method of responding is the only way. So im not suprised youve not seen anything like this in such an urban area

  • Actually the volunteer fdept here are not aloud to use any lights on there POV cuz thay abuse it so your right I don't see anything like that

  • True, anywhere you go you have those people who abuse the privelage of responding with lights and sirens on their personal vehicles, but for the most part, around here they are pretty responsible.

  • Where you from?

  • Northwestern Ohio

  • I guess I sounded like a smart ass with the 1st comment Now you know why I said what I said

  • I actually live in a college town in rural ohio and have a lot of friends from big cities who are completely unaware that this is the way that volunteer depts operate, its kinda common for people who dont see it often, not to mention that there are those people who abuse their privelage and give us all a bad reputation.

  • thanks for your reply...i will see what i can do lol im kinda cheap

  • i need to get some i have a yellow jeep with 2 boxgrille led from speed tech and a slimmiser on my rear view window. what do you think would be good for the back of the jeep?

  • depends on how much you are wanting to throw at it. If you have about $100 I would go with a hideaway strobe kit from galls, its extremely bright and not to overpriced. If you want to go cheap but bright, this is what I did. order a Sho-Me LED flasher for $20 then go to your nearest truck stop (they have the largest selection of lights) and get a couple of LED marker lights. hook the LEDs and flasher together and you got youself custom LED strobe unit for less than $40

  • is that strobes on your front bumber?

  • Yes, They are just cheap AutoZone strobes, but they are extremely bright at night

  • what POV stand for?

  • Personally Owned Vehicle

  • I mean the switch so you can change the way the lightbar flashes

  • its a turn style knob that is located on the flasher unit itself. you can see it in the video, just below the 8 red flashing leds on the flasher unit

  • ya what brand/type is it?

  • what switch do you have for your light bar?

  • the carson volunteer sirens have 2 auxilary switches on the siren itself that I use to control all my front facing lights and the other for all of my rear lights

  • Do you run with Carson AND the Federal Signal siren simultaneously? You should post a video of that. STAY SAFE!

  • I used to run with both , but i moved my siren, radio and scanner to an overhead console so I had to eliminate the federal signal. but it did sound really good when I had both

  • Nice siren combo. Bet that sounds sick responding on calls.

  • GREAT SETUP!!!

  • i have those same leds on my pov and i gotta say at night they are just as good as any fed sig, code 3 or whelen lights ive seen and they're dirt cheap on ebay

  • Whats it called on ebay? Thx!

  • led strobe

  • you ever hear of speed tech..........i like speed tech way better than code 3 or whelen

  • i love the sound no bad quilte

  • ROFL nice.... 5 stars

  • I bet it's easier fitting them in a YJ, but I have had so much trouble mounting switches and lights in my TJ. I have a 4 head LED light kinda like yours on a Tough Stuff hood rack {with a Halligan :)} and I have strobes in my headlights and tailights, as well as a red 8 head LED lightbar in the back. It's pretty sweet but I had to mount my siren and all my switches to the roof in a Tuffy overhead security console, cuz it was the only place I could.

  • yeah, your right about the off axis brightness, thats why I installed corner strobes. But I have had several police buddies tell me that they thought I was a trooper or deputy coming through town at night. Also, another firefighter always comments on them because he can cleary see them almost a mile away when we respond at night. so im pleased with them for the price and effect.

  • what kind of flasher is that? and are those the 22 LED lights from ebay?

  • yeah, and I highly recommend them. With 8 flasher heads (4red 4white)and a sho-me 8led flasher that whole set up cost me $90. They are super bright at night and move traffic just as well during the mid day sun and they hardly draw any power. I once left them on during a fire for 8 hours and it didnt drain my battery at all. Im gonna post another video soon with my entire setup in detail.

  • I own a few sets and they are extremely bright, but they dont have much off axis brightness. Im sure those red halogen wigwags help out quite a bit.

  • nice set up. Check out my video. I also have a Jeep Wrangler POV. What light set-up do you have in the back. I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to put lights in the back.

  • Ive got 2 white led corner strobes in the rear brake lights and I had a spare whelen Dashking strobe laying around, so i fashioned a mounting bracket that screwed into my soft top support bracket and positioned the strobe just below the top of the rear window, if I get a chance today, Ill post a video. I actually just put a new half top on my jeep so it looks a little different now

  • I have this siren as well, How did you get the mechanical to shut off as soon as you let go? When you switch the switch inside for short wail does it do it for the mechanical manual also?

  • yeah, the switch that kills the wail immediatly also does it for the mech. but i have found that sometimes you have to unhook the power from the unit for a few minutes for the changes to take effect. the first time i changed it i had to do that before it would change. Have you also noticed that the carsons sirens seem louder than others? my pa300 cant hold a candle to how loud that carsons are.

  • I never notice how loud carsons were until today. I was responding to the scene for an ambulance call young male unconscious and unresponsive. The PD cruiser went through the intersection about 5 seconds before me, he was running an old Code 3 V-con siren in hyperyelp and was having some serious issues getting people to let him through. I peaked the manual tone on my carson and traffic completely stopped allowing me to get through the intersection asap.

  • I have used and installed a lot of sirens for different agencies in my area, but i am convinced now that carson is the loudest by far, and have hopefully convinced my chief to put a carson in the new engine we are getting instead of the federals or code3's that they have used traditionally. we have several members on the dept that use carsons already and I have found that it is the loudest using a dynamax 100w flat speaker vs any other speaker

  • The original nob broke off, so I had to find a replacement.

  • whats up with the nob on the fed sig. siren?
