Uploader, female circumcision isn't an Islamic ritual. According to Islamic laws, a woman has the right to divorce her husband if he fails to satisfy her in bed. Islam gives women the right to have their sexual pleasure with their partners, and verses say that a woman should keep her genitals intact as it is better for her, and her husband would find it more desirable.
People who say they do this because Islam says so, confuse Islam with tradition.

Male circumcision is recommended due to the fact that many problems related to having a foreskin could be avoided and the penis could be kept clean easily, as Islam stresses on cleanliness.
However, female circumcision is not necessary to keep the vagina clean and in fact circumcision of the vagina can cause infections and problems for the woman.

Any circumcision whether to male or female is unwarranted unless for medical reasons, like when the foreskin cannot be pulled back. The trouble with the world is that people will follow religions blindly without understanding why stupid things were done in the past. Female circumcision is meaningless because it will cause the mutilated to lose sensation and reduce lubrication, leading to painful sex. I cant imagine how painful circumcision can be and will never allow it on any of my offsprings.

First of all, it's a myth that 75% of sensitivity is lost. I was talking with a guy who wasn't circumcised until he was 17, and he said there was no noticeable difference. Second, studies have proven that there is a less chance of contracting STDs and other disgusting bullshit like smegmas.

Uploader, female circumcision isn't an Islamic ritual. According to Islamic laws, a woman has the right to divorce her husband if he fails to satisfy her in bed. Islam gives women the right to have their sexual pleasure with their partners, and verses say that a woman should keep her genitals intact as it is better for her, and her husband would find it more desirable.
People who say they do this because Islam says so, confuse Islam with tradition.

@Tandykane Male circumcision isn't a tradition, it is recommended by Islam. But female circumcision is discouraged as it does harm to women. Male circumcision is recommended due to the fact that many problems related to having a foreskin could be avoided and the penis could be kept clean easily, as Islam stresses on cleanliness.
However, female circumcision is not necessary to keep the vagina clean and in fact circumcision of the vagina can cause infections and problems for the woman.

It isn't easier to clean the foreskin...usage of soap can cause irritation, dryness, burns or even allergy.
People who have a foreskin always have the risk of getting their foreskin being caught up in the zipper, if they don;t wear an underwear.
The glands in the foreskin may lubricate the glans, but the urine, mucus and dirt can clog up and cause infections.

I personally happen to know a person (non-Muslim Australian) who had a doctor circumcise him when he was 19. He says it was the best thing he had done to his body.

Any circumcision whether to male or female is unwarranted unless for medical reasons, like when the foreskin cannot be pulled back. The trouble with the world is that people will follow religions blindly without understanding why stupid things were done in the past. Female circumcision is meaningless because it will cause the mutilated to lose sensation and reduce lubrication, leading to painful sex. This practice occurs largely in Africa and places where literarcy and education are restricted, especially for females, so people are encouraged to believe that it's religiously supported even though it is not. Sorry the ACS does not agree that circumcision reduces penile cancer--and many intact countries have LOWER rates of it then some cutting countries--HOW is this possible?

First of all, it's a myth that 75% of sensitivity is lost. I was talking with a guy who wasn't circumcised until he was 17, and he said there was no noticeable difference. Second, studies have proven that there is a less chance of contracting STDs and other disgusting bullshit like smegmas.
