  • The people who do that to their horses deserve to have all of their teeth plucked out

  • My older sister agrees with you horseawareness, a bit don't need to be used, she taught me how to ride at up to a trot bareback w/out any tack and she wont teach me anymore because i cut me knee real bad and she still needs to find her bitless bridle.(the only reason she can't find it is she moved about a weak ago and is still unpacking.)

  • Please... These are crazy Russian amateurs, not professionals. Obviously you can see, that what they are doing, is not working(you can use any expression you like for the non-sense in this video). But would a horse jump a 1.60m course, being forced? I don't think so... And most horses who are competing in 1.50-1.60m classes use a snaffle bit.

The problem is not the bit. The problem is the rider!

  • I'm honestly trying to figure out where in the world they found such atrocious riders - let alone multiple ones. Seriously, I've never first hand witnessed such honest horse abuse (IMHO) and yet there are multiple riders during what seems to be the same event. Very concerned. But, as others say, a bit is a tool or means of communication - it becomes abusive when it is confused with a tool of control. Simple as that.

  • the way people ride is to blaim here not the bits themselves.. the bit should only be used as a guide .. they are disgusting riders ..all of them

  • i been riding horses sence i was born & i never seen anyone ride this bad

  • i tried usunig a bitless bridle and some horses cant tolerate it. my horse is one of them... i was extremely light with my hands and aids and he would flip his head every where when any pressure was applied. i use a snaffle on him nad he responds much better, i still use a light hand and if he gets out of control i dont yank his mouth i simply turn him in a circle untill he slows enough for me to dismount and either lunge him or assess the issue. these riders are horrible.

  • @DIEGOxRULES : You are wrong and on the wrong channel if you are still blaming the horse for your inability to ride without a bit. Very common excuse from people that don't know, if must be the horse since it can't me be. IT is you and not the horse, wise up.

  • whT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE MANIACS! DONT THEY KNOW ANYTHING!!!!!SOMEONE SHOUKD DO TO THEM WHAT THEY DID TO THEIR HORSES!!!!!!!!

  • @cinnimonandnoah98 thank you. thank you. wanna team up? hahaha

  • its the way the bit is used because the riders in these clips are vile

  • any bit or even a bitless bridle used in the wrong hands can cause a lot of damage, and neither of my horses were happy in a snaffle so i have a level 1 myler bit which is softer and doesn't have a "nut-cracker" action

  • I believe that some riders and horses can only use a specific type of bit. And if used right. No pain is caused. And both the horse and the rider is happy.

  • Any bit could be a soft bit used correctly but these people are disrespectful to the horse culture. Why do they have to beat there horse to make it do what they want it to do? They are only there to win and they won't stop at anything to make them. Gosh dump those riders horses! they have no bond with those horse which is just rank. Praying for those horses! xx

  • No good riders actually do that. Just because they ride in the Grand Prix doesn't mean they actually know how to jump properly.

  • Idiots! Can't he see that it is the riders' horribly cruel riding that makes the bit used terribly? I mean, serious? And is there real proof or research about it? @ 4:29 that beating is the cause of the bit being damaging

  • this is so sad

  • Thats horrible!!! Its one thing when u hit ur horse on the butt or shoulder, its another thing when u abuse a horses mouth or beat them

  • Fustration and pure lack of patience^ Some people need to learn how to ride with empathy before being allowed to own a horse -.-

  • Why weren't these people disqualified for this behavior? If I saw someone smack their horses like this, it would be an automatic DQ and I don't care how much people complain about it. And that's not even looking at how they're treating the horse's mouth.

  • The person who made this video is totally wrong about thier post up there ^ just because you use a bit doesn't mean your not good enough to ride with one your such an idiot! some horses need bits. Yeah I like to see a young child ride a head strong horse in a rope headcollar good luck with that one.

  • As stupid and terrible as the video may be. I couldn't help but crack up at the insanely useless and all over the place rider at 5:45. TOTALLY GOT WHAT SHE DESERVED. Horse refuses, whack horse, horse trots, fall off. Total Ownage biotch!

  • This video is a fucking joke. The whipping and horrible riding are causing the horses evasion and refusals. Not the mild bland snaffle bit.

  • the riders in footage disgust me. the way they use the crop and the bit is horrid and they are not true equestrians. a real equestrian would work with their horse as a team and use the tools that are given to them properly. i'll admit, i'm not a professional rider, hell i don't even have my own horse yet, but you can bet that i try my best to work with my mount and i do try my best to have soft hands. it's a partnership, NOT a dictatorship.

  • I would just like to say that although this particular footage is a little extreme I completely agree that bits are not necessary but also agree that in order for a bitless to be used to full advantage it is people horsemanship that needs to be improved. I ride in a bitless because I have discovered articles expressing how horses struggle to breath at times because of the bit and don't like that idea that my horses brain is telling its self that it's eating because of the bit in it's mouth but

  • that is awful it made me cringe what those people were doing. If the horse didn't jump they would get mad when it was their fault. There horses should be taken away from them. I hope they all burn in hell!

  • its not the bit that is the problem its the riders

  • By the way the people that keep saying how awesome parelli is should look up the video here on you tube where he does a clinic and ties a horse with several ropes holding the leg up and forcing the horse down. After I saw that I thought you know..... I really am not that impressed.

  • Some of the horses in this video don't even have bits in there mouths! These are all snotty riders that are either like this a lot or having a shitty day and need to be yanked off these horses. I know very few places you get away with snacking your horse do much without regular people coming up to you and saying enough is enough. That being said with brute force like these people are using any tool can or will cause injury. Just because you can ride with out a bridle doesn't mean the horse isn'

  • Does anyone notice that these horses are not listening, and the riders have no control? That isn't what the sport is about. Unfortunately abuse like this does occur, but it's also very obvious that the successful horsemen and women do not treat their horses this way. Otherwise, they would also have horses that they could not control.

  • I want to do that to one of them riders, see how they like it.

  • I can go with or without a bit, but I know trainers and riders that can make even the harshest bits soft on a horse's mouth

  • Plus, alot of the horses in the video are not acting that way solely because of the bit that is in it's mouth. There could be a number of other factors contributing such as improper saddle fit or the horse may need to see a chiropractor & get the kinks worked out; horses get stiff just like people do. The riders in this video arent showing proper horsemanship skills as well. They shouldn't be tryin to train or dicipline, to that degree, in a show ring, they should ask to be excused.

  • ...horseawareness, you're being stereotypical. You say "If you are riding in a bit, then you are not good enough to ride without one." People ride with bits because horses are unpredictable animals that can seriously hurt us without meaning to. Snaffles aren't harsh bits. I can ride my mare with a rope round her neck bareback, but when we go on trail rides & to shows I use a bit for the safety of myself, my horse & of those around me. It's called RESPONSIBILITY.

  • what are they? monsters? OMG disrespectful for horses,.. horses are not slaves they are animals

  • If I were one of the horses getting beat like that.... I would leap into the air, twist, and body slam the little fucker that was on my back !!!

  • I want this video on my X1i plus unit.

  • @EatSleepEquestrian : Gee, another little preacher that is so proud of bits that she has to create this fake profile just so she can be a troll and make this idiotic comment which totally shows her lack of understanding horse horses or pain.

  • I'm more worried about this poor animals mental state. Getting whipped between the ears? Wtf! This video is extreme and most people who ride in a bit do not treat their horses like this at all, but I feel terrible seeing those handful of horses consistently in pain. I dont know what country this is, but I would be ashamed to be an equestrian if I rode like that, or participated in a show where that kind of cruel behavior was allowed.

  • Oh My God, this is horrid. I cringed and flinched so many times in sympathy for the horses and I understood why the horses would balk. There is NO reason for the horse to trust the evil little itch monkey on it's back. None.

As if the bit weren't enough, they have the horse's head tied to its chest, restricting its movement, which also restricts air flow.

  • @sockysockssock : WHY, because it is better for the horse and the horse should come first, not just what is easy for YOU. A bit is old archaic metal PAIN devices and people that continue to use them are cruel and too smart to admit they are wrong.

  • @horseawareness a bitless bridle works by applying pressure to the very thin nasal bone of the horse and if misused can cause terrible damage to the horse just the same as a bit can. A bridle whether bitless or not is a tool and is only as good as the person using it, there's no point insisting that one is better than the other when they can both hurt the horse when used incorrectly.

  • @anckothehaflinger i agree with you. I knew a horse that was killed from being tied in a halter with a chain. The rope was tied to cement. The person called themselves "trainers" and he only had that poor horse less than an hr when it happened. She broke her nose and couldnt breathe. It doesnt matter what you ride in, it all can cause pain- even Rope halters that work on PRESSURE points.

  • God I hate it when people do this at shows. I only ride bitless, because any metal in the mouth is pain for the horse. I have never picked up a whip in my life.

  • Where is this video taken from? From what I've gathered, it's an instructional video from Russia. Do you have any information about it? I would love to see more, it's kind of unexpected to see promoted a kind of horsemanship ny a country as Russia, known to be quite unscrupulous when it comes to competitive sports

  • People who do this to horses should be shot dead!!! It's animal cruelty!!!

  • Bits are all well and good but in the wrong hands can do irreversable damage to muscle and bone structure.HOWEVER so can some bitless bridles. I personally ride in bitless or bridleless but there many riders who dont agree with it for whichever reasons. I think since it should be about the horses' comfort we should use what they are comfortable with . I'm sure it makes no difference to the horse if they have a kind, soft rider with or without a bit. Basically some people should not ride at all :)

  • So if you are so good riding without a bit, are YOU good enough to ride with one? As much as you so obviously like to believe, not everyone does what you say they do. No one has soft hands? If YOU rode in a bit, would you have "hard" or "soft" hands? When you ride without a bit, whether it be a halter, hackamore, etc; do you have "hard" or "soft" hands? It doesn't matter what a person has on their horses' face, but it depends on how they use what they have to guide the horse. Informative video.

  • I'm crying..

  • I feel sick.

  • @thefemaleboss91 I hear ya. Some people just don't care.

  • @Helix1396 so true, how would they like a huge metal bar in their mouth and being pulled by it practically cutting their mouths

  • @thefemaleboss91 I know. Why don't they try walking around with a piece of bitter metal in their mouth.

  • THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DON'T USE BITS ON MY HORSE

  • I have always been taught (ridden only 3yrs, No lessons) Hands down, quiet hands, quiet aids, only use the crop to press areas that you can't reach and need to put an aid. If I ever and I mean EVER see my kids(in the furter) behave anything like this on or near a horse, I will personally walk into the arena, rip them off their horse, take them home early, spank them and put them on stall cleaning for a month then make them start bareback, bridaless and NO crop untill they prove themself worthy.

  • I ride my horse with a bit, but I didn't train him and he's 12yrs old and iv'e have him maybe 6months so our relationship is still developing to a more stable one, so i'm trying to work him of bits. BUT bits are ok IF you use them correctly and don't yank the mouth and what not. But i use a Jr. reining bit, not a snaffle. And if I road the horse like that, my land owner of my hroses (friend and role modle) would rip me off my horse and whoop me withthe crop then suspend my rideing.

  • @XxEpicRiderxX snaffle bit is the kindest bit out there?? are you kidding me? The snaffle bit nutcrackers the horse in the top of the mouth everytime you engage to reins, *no matter how softly* Do some research!!!

Been riding bitless for 3 years, even my OTTB

  • POOR HORSIES!!!!!! STUFF THOSE RIDERS

  • Thats horrible I know a gilr who use to ride like that. the horse is so senstive now th elittle touch makes him spazz. I ride with snaffle in english but I dont yack and pull like that i give him or her their head and only use the bit when needed I buse my body to control the speed and direction of the horse but i ride with a bit because you never know what will happen I use a copper small port or a tom tumb with copper but rlly it all depends on what bit my horse likes.

  • @rae14eva i compltley agree with you, yes the riding and horsemanship in this video was appaling, but not everyone rides like this ! x

  • @Jaisiez I know! Parelli is SO AMAZING!! :D Yay for pain free horsemanship! :)

  • @Jaisiez Agree, 100%! Halter riding all the way! :D

  • @Lillythepinkxxx :) us parelli people are the best xxx

  • @PaintedPicasso Really? How? Not as much damage as with a bit I'm sure?

  • @Jaisiez no definitely not as much damage, but it can put uneven pressure on the nose or crown. my gelding goes in a d ring when im actually working him, but he loves the halter, he just doesnt frame up the same way. i think you have to use what your horse is happiest in, be it nothing, bridle, halter, bitless bridle, etc. and thankyou for having a nice conversation with me with no insults :)

  • @PaintedPicasso Oh you mean halter riding where people use the reins. I ride my mare in a halter to prevent me tugging on the bit, and because she had a bad experience of being bitted. I use my seat to control my horse, I don't rely on the reins. Not saying it's bad to rely on the reins... Haha no problem, didn't type a response to start an argument, just wanted to state my opinion :)

  • This video has pissed me off. This video not once shows what the bit does and how the horse responds when LIGHT hands are taking the reins, only when rough (and in my opinion abusive) people are in control. I'm sorry but if you wanted to prove a point then you went about it the wrong way; these horses are obviously being mistreated but with these riders, just as much damage could be caused bitless.

  • This is why I ride my mare in a halter.. to prevent my frustration if she was bitted, I would do damage. Everyone gets angry at their horses sometimes, and most riders will take their frustration out onto the closest thing to them- by yanking on the reins. Why use a bit if it is proven that so many horses can be ridden COMPLETELY tackless? Bitting and use of gadgets is the quick and easy option. Riders need to learn to use their seat and voice to control a horse, and stop relying on the reins!!

  • @kezzy2318 : Once again - It is not about YOU or me, It is about making it better for the HORSE - very selfish petty comment trying to make it about something else. Stay off my channel, it is for learning obviously not for you.

  • why??!! why use a whip or these bits when these horses are soo willing to do anything we ask. it makes me sick!!

  • I enjoy riding my pony in his halter and he enjoys it too, my bit is a rubber bit and it works great. Riding should be from the seat and leg and all these fancy bits are because people don't know how to control their horses so they feel like they need strong 'brakes'. I do feel like I have soft hands, sometimes, I usually ride on the buckle and I use my leg and seat to get my horse to listen and I do use my reins because I have yet to completely master just seat and leg.

  • huh!! so now they are using whips too...what will they use next, machine guns?

  • And the way people use their whips in this film is disgusting.

  • @laurengracefranklin Totally agree!

  • I Do Parelli and ride bitless all the time, rope halters all the way for me! Don't even consider riding in a bridle these days...I either ride with a rope halter, or nothing! :D

  • Hi horse awarness! I have a horse and I never use a bit! At shows I have too, but if I had the choice I would definatley not, and I have not ridden at a show for well over one and a half years. I ALWAYS use a Parelli Natural horsemanship rope halter! :D

  • Been riding bitless for three years :) If an OTTB can do it, anyone can.

Rick, thankyou so much for posting this. I've been talking to a young girl who's horse throws his head in the air when she engages both reins, asked her what bit she uses... "snaffle". explained the mechanics of the snaffle when both reins r engaged... she's changing bits. Can't get her to go bitless, as parents would have a fit, but one change at a time eh?

  • @horseawareness Hahahaha I agree!

  • @horseawareness Well that seems a little harsh. Yes, there are PLENTY of riders who are hard handed and cruel, but there are also plenty of riders who aren't. Any bit can be cruel, it all depends on who has their hands on the reins. Same goes for things like hackamores; put it in the hands of the wrong person and you have the same painful experience for the horse.

  • @DancingRoses929 : So tired of people telling me how soft their hands are, if you asked everyone on this video if they had rough hands they would say NO not me I have soft hands, my horse was not listening, he need to pay attention, I have to show him who was boss..................Just stop all the excuses people, IF YOU ARE RIDING IN A BIT, THEN YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO RIDE WITHOUT ONE SO STOP TELLING EVERYONE HOW SOFT YOU WITH YOUR PRECIOUS BIT....

  • That's crazy i would never want to put a bit like that in my horses mouth! That looks very painful! I agree with Rick!

  • @Temporary433 : LOL, so let me get this straight you are so much of a pain and foolish drama queen that you get blocked so much from your stupid comments that you need TWO channels to post your foolishness.

Go to your bran and cause drama there and move on, stop wasting my time.

  • another reason why i use a bitless bridle!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and i dont compete! if i was to jump i do it at home and if i was to do x country i do it out on a hack jumping logs and fences and fallen trees or ditches!

  • omg these riders are awful /:

  • That is appalling :O Thankfully I have never witnessed riders like that around my area.. I ride english style in a snaffle but have very light hands and use my legs and seat to control my horse. Those idiots should be beaten and tortured in the exact same way!

  • this made me want to cry,

  • this is also proof that idiots shouldnt be allowed to use whips while riding

  • you dont actually need a bit at all. well atleast my horses dont, they listen more to my legs and body weight and when i use a bit they go mental! pretty clear the bit shouldnt be used and is causing pain. but.. if you do decide to use one, atleast keep your hands soft and dont pull real hard at the reins. horses are alot stronger than you and can become dangerous if agitated!

  • I wanna put this bit in these riders mouths and yank! Show them how it feels. The bit is only a dangerous as the rider. And the smaking. Horsemanship. Hello? Worse comes to worse you need a tap on the butt or shoulder. That's it. Get it through

  • FOR ALL THE BIT DEFENDERS: Who cares if it is the riders fault or bit fault - the Horse pays, the rider or human puts the bit on the horse, if it was not there the horse would not be hurt. All you "it is the rider' fault" people, NO shit, the horse still pays and most that think they are soft don't know what soft is or what pain the horse feels, so grow up and stop the selfish protection & defending of this cruel archaic PAIN DEVICE!

  • @horseawareness WELL put, Rick!!! Seeing this does not only make me very sick, I also just want to get all those suckers in one room, tie them up and smack them with full farrier power with their own whips and cut their sides open with their spurs and yank their own bits around their molars and tongues and make them break their own legs jumping over their nice little colourful obstacles with all those pretty flowers....

  • @BnFHorsemanship and then they expect their horses to behave... I have seen riders that have been riding for what, like, 3 months and they can use a bit better that. those people know absolutely nothing about horses.

  • I second that, Rick. Why eat with a sharp knife if you can do it with a spoon...?

  • @horseawareness Bits should never be used like this. In my opinion, they should be used to get that extra bit of control, not to bloody well break their teeth!

  • @horseawareness i get where you are coming from but its not about the bit. the bit is a tool used for collection and not for controll in the right hands a bit is the most gently tool you have .... if someone rode but never touched their reins is that cruel? its not the bit its the riders hands that the bit is connected to theses days people use far too much pressure with their hands and rely on it for everything the bit should be merely to give the horse more confidence. :)

  • if they were REAL horse men they don't need any of that sh!tThe horse would be toothless and so would those idiots b 1 i ran in2 em

Jeez give the horse a break! it wants to learn! have fun with the person on its back! using a bit and a whip is only gonna get you bucked off! i hope you literally break a leg yr next comp! u dont deserve to b in the presents of a horse! thumbs up if you agree thumbs up if u have never used a whip or bit b4! god bless the horses those idiots call there pride&joy!

  • A bit of any type is only as hard on a horses mouth IF the idiot rider has rough hands. HENCE, only start a horse without a bit at all, until your hands are light and easy enough for your horses mouth. This is horse abuse in this video, idiot riders.

  • i see alot of stupid riders yanking on their horses mouth, heck yah any bit can hurt if you have an idiot jerking on your mouth like that. people need to learn how to control their horse with their leg and seat and keep a light rein. it sickens me that people do this, thats why i refuse to give lessons with a bit unless the person knows what to do. i use bitless bridles and will swear by them. ive even taught a horse to neck rein with one so the western leverage bits ARENT necessary. come on ppl

  • Any bit can be bad in the wrong hands. All of the idiots that you show in this video are an excellent example of that!

  • I feel terrible or these horses who have to pay for their riders ignorance. I honestly wish there was a way that the riders could become their horses and then be ridden the way that they ride their horses. Another thing, these riders are also the reason why alot of western riders say that english riding is a terrible thing. Then people refuse to listen when someone tells them that there are good people, and there are bad people everyhere. Sigh... people. You frusterate me.

  • This happens alot at local shows, whip happy, mouth grabbing stupid idiots who I just wish to shove off their poor horses! Any bit can be dangerous in the wrong hands, even hackamores and riding in a halter if you are a prat like in this video. I was once accused of cruelty to my horse who is trained in natural horsemanship, so I hopped on her tackless, headed to the local bridleway and got some videos galloping flat out and stopping and turning with my hands in the air and no tack on! :P

  • I hate these idiot riders making other english riders look bad GIVE HIM HIS HEAD >:(

  • My horse always had a very sensitive mouth, and a hard time with any type of bit, so I trained him to neck rein by using a regular halter and lead rope at 1st, and then I switched him over and used a "Hackmore" on him. He had NO more bit problems, and I never had the need to cram anything in his mouth ever again. BTW, He also had his teeth attended to on a regular basis. When all else fails, try a Hackamore. Peace!

  • thats terrible why beat the horses, they have to like to be around you and asscociate you with something nice their reins are way too short by the way

  • KEEP UP YOUR GOOD WORK RICK- IGNORANT PEOPLE LEAD IGNORANT LIVES! You're a good man and you are helping horses everywhere, unfortunately these dumb arse egotistical superficials will never get it!

  • Wow, that guy on the brown with the white reins has got to be one of the worst riders I've ever seen.

  • I agree that snaffle bits can be very harsh which makes me wonder why all the "celebrity" trainers use them. Every last one of them seems to sell his/her own snaffle bit. The worst part is they are selling to people who are often inexperienced horse owners/riders. I'm not even sure they explain how the snaffle bit works and how severe it can be.

  • the lack of even basic horsemanship displayed by any of the riders in the video is disgusting -_-. I watched the same things happening with long shanked bits at the auction the other night. Its freak sad people can't "ride" an not stay outa their horses mouth an then blame the horse when they retaliate from the pain an discomfort.

  • Funny how ALL THE BARREL RACERS seem to want to defend the cruel bit and tie downs. And people wonder why I dislike shows and can't seem to see what they do to horses and what they are teaching uneducated riders.

  • dog, pig assholes to hell with the animal abusers

  • schweine hunde arschlöcher zur hölle mit den tierquälern

  • schweine hunde arschlöcher

  • @BrightLights741 how would I know when I went to your channel you would have a horse jumping and falling with a dumbass rider pulling on the bit. Great example of the ignorance in the horse world. Oh yea a bit makes a horse happy..... are you kidding me?.... I have heard that a broom up people's butt will make idiots happy? Stay off my channel, obviously too smart to learn....feel sorry for you horse. Oh wait she rescued her horse and loves it, so she knows a bit makes it happy? simply amazing

  • @horseawareness She's just another no it all horse shower -.-

  • @horseawareness why is it not smart that tht people dnt wannu learn how 2 ride with no bit? Its just to stop cousing trouble and to b safe. and thts abit hursh to say u feel sorry for the horse being stuck wiv them isnt it??

  • and if u dont need a bit its just cos ur ponies are to pushbutton and easy. douch. :D

  • @horseawareness I think it would be helpfull to do a video, get someone down on all fours put a bit in their mouth with reins and stick a kind rider on their back who would never hurt a horse with a bit, then sneak back in and scare the crap out of them and see what happens. if someone tried to tell me that they have been on a horse truly scared I mean so scared it will even kill itself in an effort to escape the last thing I want to do is have a peice of metal in his mouth been there...done it

  • i see alot of unhappy comments on this but to me i think you should do whatever is comforable for you and your horse if you know how to ride an how to treat a horse you will have a plesant ride i have used the sanffle on both my boys an they do fine but i dont yank or saw as you say they are both very good with it i just feel sorry that in the wrong hands a riding crop becomes a weapon just like i see here the horses have no clue what they are askin of them

  • What kind of show or stable is thos!

  • @Smiley6095 yes i do ride. I know that people often don't want to torture their horses. agree on that. BUT most of them do it by being rough or just because they don't know any better. The lady who tought me riding always said "imagine that metal bit in your mouth". imagine some one would "communicate" with you by hitting you. do you hit your friend to say him - hey i'm in a hurry? I don't but maybe that's because i'm stupid. Just as Rick is.

  • .. or being constantly fed rather than foraging for food, but that doesn't stop us feeding our horses does it? no.

  • These riders are just. ugh. Makes me want to fucking gag. You can't just smack a horse like that over and over again for what, refusing?! It's their fault it refused, smack yourselves you filthy people.

  • I know this sounds demonic but i wish I could take there pretty little boots there pretty shiny whip there bit that 'doesn't hurt' and slap it in there mouths throw my whole body back pulling on the bit slapping there ass with that darned whip and kicking there sides with those pretty black boots -.-

  • no bit is kind in the hands of a terrible and cruel rider.

  • @HorseDrawingLuver : The people telling you it is dangerous have to say that since they are too scared or lack the confidence and ability to ride their horse without a bit. By telling others it is dangerous, it hides their ignorance and fear.

  • @horseawareness you are ignorant to say riding in a halter is not dangerous because in case you havent noticed horses are unpredictable animals no matter how you slice it and when ever you get on a horse in a bit or not the horse will decide what it wants to do. A bit can be a weapon or a tool but it all depends on who is using it and id appreciate it if you didnt put sexist comments and people beating horses with crops all over your channel. Thanks :D

  • I have to say when I was younger and a lot more ignorant I did ONCE hit my horse more than was necessary at a show jumping competition. I felt like an evil little brat and I've never done it since, and I was surprised that nobody told me off. Ok it wasn't quite as bad as the horrific scumballs in this video, but I still felt like a bitch. I can safely say I have never hit my horse like that since, and I never will. I just ride him with a loose rein (no contact at all) on hacks now- it's bliss.=]

  • I love how everyone is watching the video and missing the main part about it. Who cares if the rider isn't using it right, it's mostly showing what a bit CAN do if it is used wrong. I myself us a curbed bit, but I am now switching over to just using a rope halter and lead rope. Even I look at this video and say, "God dang, stupid person on that poor horse."

  • @samax999 : You are idiot, how the hell are you going to see bruises in your horses mouth? Do you check? Do you see nerve damage to the teeth? Can you see pain? You are too stupid to watch my videos. Stay the hell off my channel. You are blocked! Bye.

  • This is beyond ridiculous. I wouldn't go so far as to say all bits are bad, not if used properly, but this... This is cruelty. Even without bits, I'm sure people like those shown here would find other ways to be cruel to their mounts. They have no regard for the animals at all.

  • @horsey983 thank you XD

  • I have to agree that the hitting and pulling of the mouth is completely unacceptable. If at all possible, I never yank on a horses head or smack them. The only time I have pulled on a horses mouth was when he was bucking and was about to fall over. Only time I smacked a horse was when he bit me and drew bloodand was about to bite me again. Basically, there is a time and a place for hitting and bit pulling(though i prefer riding with a hackamore or a halter) and when training a horse isnt it.

  • such beutiful horses sham they are being ruind by ther riders and befor you say sumthing about my spelling im deslecsik and desprask

  • Hehe. This is just horrible. I love when they fell off. I wish I could tell you who they are. But for now I will say they are morons at the worst. OK so you gag your horse & you think that tells them to go right? Then you whip them excessively, VERY hard & you think that helps. Anyway, That is the most horrible thing in the world. It made me sick. It is unbelievable. R they at a show? If they are, and I was there. I would take a lunge whip out of my trailer & whip the owners hehe.

  • most people who commented on this video obviously dnt watch your videos....wow i dnt no how you deal with them...this was a very good video showing how cruel some people are...to bad the "i agree with rick and bits are wrong" party is small...that is sad

  • @horseawareness shut the son of a fucker mouth up!!

  • omg!!! their monsters why would you hit a horse soo much??? and when its doing what you want it to do?? horses need love, a loyal owner, trust, friendship and nothing more to do as you ask not beatings!!!!!!!

  • haha they all deserve to be bucked !

  • these people just suck at riding thats all

you dont EVER keep holding pressure on the bit

  • that is so cruel

  • these riders are awful. Watching the way they literally yank the horses mouth makes me shutter.

  • now now dont be sexist, broads hate it

  • wow i hate how these people treat their horse.....especially the MEN

  • That is the worst riding I have EVER seen. I feel SO SORRY for those horses that have absolutely no idea what to do to escape punishment. They are being punished for not going/jumping and then immediately (by hauling on their mouths) are being told NOT TO GO! I'm afraid I would like to take those riders and subject them to an impossible task and then smack them for not being able to complete it...and I'm NOT a sadist.

  • these people need to go die in a ditch this is horible how would they like it if people were sitting on u constintly jerking u back and forth hurting ur jaws and ur gums ugh -angry facee-

  • I ride my horse in ahackamore, but even that could be cruel and painful if I yanked on it or something. BITS, of any kind arent cruel, it is just the people holding the rains that are.

  • That is sick!!!

  • haha, I think the chic at 1:42 is my fav...she beats her horse so hard she fell off...that's just great fun right there...maniac...

goes to show that it doesn't matter what's in your horses mouth, it's how you use it...and can we lose the crops?

  • pull a little harder, maybe his head will pop off...geez these people are maniacs...

  • horses, are only asa bad as the people who ride them!

  • This is literally like a horror movie/train wreck to watch....

  • Oh my Gosh..

Only blind, or really stupid, people can't see that these horses are in pain.

    (No offence to blind people.)

  • @Horsecrazyglambert no offence, but i highly doubt that he cares about your riding resume. just saying. and aparently to your youtube, you're 12 :D

  • This video makes me sick and disturbed every time I see this.. especially when I think about how I used to ride "english" with a bit and was taught to yank the head and kick the horse to make it listen.. I'm just glad I found out about natural horsemanship while I'm still young and i can get out of those bad horse habits.

  • lol wow all these people are AWFUL! I have NEVER seen anyone treat a horse like that. English or western

  • @Horsecrazyglambert "All I see are people riding horses!" REALLY??!!! So when you ride horses you yank in their mouths and beat them like that? You dont try to correct them in a civilized way? You think that miss behaving is fixed by beating them? You are not truly about the horse if that is how you ride. They do not think like we do. Thats like beating a 5 day old baby for crying. That is pathetic and people who ride like that should be banned from owning or riding horses.

  • @Horsecrazyglambert I hope your horse teaches you a lesson one of these days

  • @Horsecrazyglambert You're clearly blind. -.-

  • does anybody know the man in the clip starting at 0:08 and ending at 0:15. He is horrible and he deserves to be hit with a crop as hard and as many times he hits his horses

  • Came across this researching different bits. Unfortunately, I did not watch the video, because I read the comments first. Dont want to see it. With that said, what type bit or control devise would be recommended for a new (but old) rider?

  • @DirectTech

Try to find a bit which makes space for the tongue, f.ex a Myler Bit.

Make a Google search for "Myler Bit 33 Ported Barrel D ring"

  • @Horsecrazyglambert It doeesnt matter that the horse listened to you, because it didnt listen to you for the right reason

  • @Horsecrazyglambert get a life, seriously. Go fucking kill yourself for hurting the poor horses. =/ I hope you rot in hell.

  • I may have to start riding my thoroughbred bitless O.O' he's crazy, but I don't want him to get hurt :/ I'm a soft person anyway and always avoid smacking a horse, I hate it, it makes me think that I'm betraying them ><

  • @Horsecrazyglambert HAVE YOU NOT EVEN WATCHED THE VIDEO?! they are BEATING their horses, yes, a tap is enough but NOT beating a horse that much OR yanking it's head back! I have NEVER done that to any of my horses I have ridden and owned, and the Thoroughbred ex-racehorse I have now doesn't even need that type of beating even though he plays up a lot. I think you should watch this video again fully and notice how much it is destroying that horses trust, I am now planning to ride bitless.
