Jonathan Butler is one of my greatest heroes. I met him in 1982 when I was 16 and he was about 20 or so in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town where I grew up, and not far from where Jonathan grew up.
He had his own band, the JB Band and they travelled in a Datsun/Nissan E20 minivan. I remember riding with them one day to a gig.
Then in August 2010 my wife Abby and I saw him at the Rodney Strong Jazz Concert in Sonoma County, CA close to where we now live. We held up the SA flag and a sign that read Bon
SOLID. the piece is already nice, but to sing with your daughters... oMAN, i'm getting teary-eyed! Great Job! Now i'ma go check the original piece, it brings back such memories~1Luv
what a blessing when you cn sing with your children ...i miss singing with the family....proud of ou mister butler ...you come along way since capetown you are an inspiration to all southafricans listening to your music....peace to the family....
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I noticed he fumble in the begining. If a Beast like Johnathan Butler can fumble I shouldn't feel bad when I do it. Thank you for this video, not because of the fumble but it helped me get over my fright of fumbling. Cause we all know that Johnathan is a genius. God Bless
Yes I confirm, he fumbled! Fumbling is normal for every people, every artist! AS I am a musician I noted that live! But music goes on and you forget in a while! Thank you for your comment!
Incredible! I love it! One day I will play guitar properly and sing this with my daughers for their mother! So inspirational - I've never seen Jonathan live but this makes me make it a priority now if I can!
