@teppichkopf You're hard 2 track down! There may be a very good reason why this has happened 2 your Blundstones. Your boots are around 10 years old & as they get older they require more care. It is still rare 4 this 2 occur & the fact it has happened to u twice is unheard of. If you could inbox Blundstone1870 with an email address we will be happy to share some useful information. In your case, the 2 year warranty shall be extended due to some bad luck! Next time...just call us!
When you first bought your Blundstones new, did they feel tight at the instep? Where the ankle kind of meets the toes. How long does it take to break in?
@teppichkopf I was thinking of buying these boots but it seems ever since they moved production to Asia everyone reports that the quality dropped A LOT. I hope Blundstone compensates you with a new pair or something.
By the way you could do a spot on Ben Stiller impersonation if you wanted to!
So here is the scoop. I popped into the Australian boot company - (Vancouver location) today with my boots. They determined that the problem was that I hadn't worn my boots enough and that rubber will eventually disintegrate if just left on its own. I call Bull****!!! Anyway they said my boots were made in 2002 - (stamp underneath has the date and month they were made) I bought the boots about 4 years ago so they figured I had been sold and old pair. Anyway, they GAVE ME NEW BOOTS!!! YEAH!!!
Wow, that's awesome you got a new pair of boots. But their comments are completely BS. I mean really, shoes will disintegrate if left on a shelf? ... Wow. So did they say they have changed the rubber they use? Or should you expect them to fall apart again? I guess you'll find out....
I just wrote the company today and sent them pics of the boots. The uppers on mine look almost brand new. There are many postings about this problem on line.
Yeah, my black ones had very little use. Blundstone certainly has a quality problem ongoing for years. I got each pair of mine years apart but the result was the same. If you hear back from Blundstone about your boot be sure to comment about it here!
I have a vintage pair and the soles are AWEFUL. . . Is there anyway I can get them repaired?

@Iseeyouraining
Take them to a local shoe repair cobbler and see if they can put a new sole on.

For me they fit quite well from day 1. I never had any tightness, or break-in period, with either pair I've had.
