@mjlyam :I made a reverse cone with a spider like bride, the strings rest on a brige connected to the spiderweb. and it really sounds like a resonator guitar, I own a delta6 resonator, and it sounds just like it, only a little less powerfull because of the small body size.
i can't see how the strings bear on the cone !!!! in a resonator guitar the strings press on or 'pump' the cone to act like one does in a loud-speaker ! see youtube .....'resonators 101' ... and ..... 'biscuit bridge resonator animation' . yours sounds good but .... i'm not sure it is a reso in the true sense. mike
just a tip for your next one, NEVER GLUE YOUR CONE TO YOUR SOUND WELL!!! NEVER!!! it alters the tone, and deadens it, but, that is still a fucking awesome guitar, awesome job man.
A little rattle at the last strum. Your bridge angle cutting the strings may not be right or you might not have the correct downward pressure on the cone. String height, string gauge, and tuning create this correct tension. Very creative. Thanks for sharing. Nice video and build. Enjoy.
Interesting build, you kinda made a modified spider bridge. Doesn't sound bad for being a tin can and all. Well, I made something called a hollow cross cone which means I hollowed out the sound board to increase its resonating properties.
How much did all this cost you?
