Bananianiown - it is very entertaining, isn't it? Do you read Chinese, by the way? If you do, then you'll probably understand why Anita's character kept on getting ticked off. If you don't, I'd be happy to explain.
Sally's character is a girl, dressed up as a guy so she could go to school. She meets Anita's character and falls for him. Now Sally's going back home. She keeps on dropping hints about people pairing up, but Anita just thinks she's being silly. At one point, Sally points to their reflections in the water, slips up and refers to "a guy and a girl." Anita's character (male) thinks Sally is calling him a girl, and gets pissed.
Of course, Sally's character was just referring to herself. Anyways, she gets herself out of trouble finally by telling Anita's character that "he" has a "twin sister" back home, and that's why "he" kept on making "pairing up" references. If you did a search on "The Butterfly Lovers" on the Internet, you'll understand the overall story (this operatic episode is just one segment within the whole story).
This skit ends with Sally's character urging Anita's character to come visit "his" home as soon as possible so that they could arrange for "his twin sister's" marriage to Anita's character. They had become very good friends while in school, hence their emotional parting at the very end. Of course, Sally's character was also hoping for a speedy reunion with Anita, so that she can reveal her true self and move their relationship forward.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful gem, beep2222beep! My word, Anita really was and STILL is a multitalented singer-she very seldom sang "Huang Mei Diu" and yet did such a great job. Bravo! Most of all, she had such a big heart and is a role model for us all to look up to. We all will remember her FOREVER through her so many wonderful songs. God rest HER soul!
Wow if Anita sing with Ivy Ling Po.. That would be awesome!!

I think this came from a Fund-Raising Charity show of some sort, probably around the late 80's.
