All true that you said...The fact is that platinum/gold/chrome/coal/nicl­ke/vanadium/diamonds ect. is the biggest (most financially viable) recources South Africa has. This means that if this mining revolotion in South Africa never occured, our economy would never have seen the boom that it did prior to the mining industry. In recent times most mining companies in SA are aware of the issues you addressed and out of my experience they are making huge improvements on all grounds.
