I'm a Seminole fan and I REALLY don't like Steve Spurrier, but I have to give props to him on that night. He figured out how to beat FSU's aggressive blitzing defense by putting Wuerffel in the shotgun and throwing those short to medium passes in the holes left by blitzing. However I STILL believe FSU and Arizona State, the ONLY 2 undefeated teams that year should have played for the title. UF should have never had a shot.

They knew Thad Busby wasn't a threat so they squared in on Warrick Dunn who rushed for I think over 180 yards against the Gators in the game in Tallahassee. As far as the defense for FSU went, Spurrier put Wuerffel in the shotgun, and the rest is history. As far the rematch goes, shit happens. Game 1 was in a place where no team in the 1990s could win. Game 2 was at a neutral field in which it was a tossup.

it was the flu, and 11 starters WE'RE out...no lie. This game is the mulligan title for UF. I think this UF team was the best they ever had, too...this one had Peterson at LB, Ike Hilliard at WR, Weurfful at QB, Taylor at RB, Kearse at DE, and some more really fast players. FSU had the two of the top three tackles in CFB with Walter Jones and Tra Thomas. Pace was at OSU and was #2 behind Jones. We had Mr. Dunn, Dexter Jackson(super bowl mvp 2002 tampa bay). The game b4 the rematch was awesome!
