  • @stormonmormon yes they will work

  • Thanks I want to know how to do that second one in case I really need to brake.

  • I've read some comments about "de-weighting" or "un-weighting" the board around Youtube...How exactly does this work? Do you basically compress then decompress or do you have to do a little hop or jump?

  • hey i have a Santa Cruz 78a 65mm, will that work for sliding?

  • thnx bro really helped

  • nice video it really helped me learn to slide

  • i've made my own longboard with vault wheels and trucks its pretty good quality i also use vault slide gloves i live on a mountain with like 20 other long boarders so its pretty cool

  • Loaded Tan tien deck+paris 180mm trucks+o-tang stims (86a)= the best setup for sliding ever!

  • i have abec 11 zigzags reflex 81a, could i slide iwth them, they have straight edges so im thinking no but ima just wondering?

  • @ClaysPlays Preferably you want a long-ish board for sliding, but its do-able

  • Dude i just get a brand new sector nine 75A 69mm wheels are they good for sliding?! thx bro!

  • @sccp10094 Your wheels are a bit on the softer side for sliding at 75a. If you want a more slide specific wheel check out the Orangatang Durian, Stimulus, or Fat Free wheels.

  • What board is that? Please respond =)

  • @AnthonySupernova9 Loaded Vanguard

  • Are the cult classics good for sliding?

  • @ButlerMaz Cults are awesome sliders.

  • Thanks it should help :)

  • hey bro, i have a landyachtz switchblade with yellow 82a zombies. Is it easy to slide in them cause i just got it and it wont slide?

  • Wimp

  • @safaritown Hey guys! quick question. How are you keeping the heel of your shoes from catching the ground while your tilted and sliding? Thanks!!

  • is it a good idea to slide w/ o-tang 4 pres orange 80a? they seem to grippy to slide.

    help!

  • @TheItalianCanLax They will break in after some use. If you want a wheel that slides right out of the box, try the Orangatang durian, or stimulus wheels. The 4 pres wheels have sharper edges that make them a little harder to slide, but when the hard edges round off a little they will slide easier.

  • Wut wheels are you useing

  • What wheels are you using

  • where do u live!! that place looks so nice!!!

  • @flappyAFRICA888 Lincoln City, Oregon.

  • @safaritown nice!

  • How tight do your trucks have to be to slide well?

  • go -------------- go ------------------- go

  • @ViRoxBluR depends a lot on wheels. its possible just that harder like sliding with 75a wheels is harder than sliding with 86a wheels

  • can anybody post a video on how to do a push up check slide?

  • Hey bro, cool vid.

Could you help me out with something?

I got the loaded tan tien flex 3 with paris 180 trucks and orangatang stimulus 70mm 42mm contact 80a.

    Can I slide with it?

    Thanks:)

  • @DSAHOY tat would be good to slide with.

  • Thanks @victorox98:)

  • @DSAHOY You should be able to. If you are having trouble you may need to put more time in.

  • I have a 45'' gravity pintail. Is this harder to slide on than shorter boards bc I can never really get a good slide even with sliding wheels.

  • @ViRoxBluR softer wheels, usually 70 a's are not meant for sliding 80 a's or above are harder and much easier to slide with, and it is very hard to slide on pintail decks so I would suggest a drop deck or a concave deck

  • Are caliber trucks with arangatan (violet color) good for sliding ??? I tried sliding with these but i cant seeem to figure it out

  • is it easy

  • thanks

  • Hey, I have an Arbor Mission GT with 65mm 78a wheels. Is this good for sliding?

  • Is the Sector 9 9 star complete good for sliding?

  • I have a Landyachtz Drop Carve with paris trucks and yellow o-tang stimulus wheels. I got it for christmas, and rode it as it was without adjusting it. Whenever I turn heel-side, my back toeside wheel comes off the ground. How could I fix this, or is it normal?

  • can you slide with abec 11 wheels and buck trucks

  • @ninjakid1221 Some guys say they can slide any wheels. It is also true that some wheels slide easier than others. What kind of Abec 11 wheels do you have? Also check the wheel durometer. The higher the # the harder the wheel is. I am not sure about buck trucks. Check out the reverse king pin longboard trucks we have on our website.

  • @safaritown Can u slide with freerides whees that are 82 in durometer?

  • @safaritown are gullwings chargers good for sliding

  • @memster34 Yes, most reverse king pin longboard trucks( Paris,Randal, Gullwing, Bear, etc) will work well for sliding.

  • if u know what vision cruisers are can you do it on those aswell?

  • hey im 115 pounds, 5' 7", and i ride a 46" pintail and finding it impossible to get into a slide, am i riding a board too big for me? or am i doing something wrong?

  • @edster9876 its because the board is so big and ur so small (no offence).... im 6'5 and i cant slide a calli pintail

  • @edster9876 its a sector 9 deck

  • keep clicking 0:20

  • @duckpk10 Are you out of youre mind? the 4prez are not broken.

  • How do you stop on a longboard if you are a begginer?

  • @BmxLongboard type this on the youtube searchbar...

  • @BmxLongboard you slide bruh

  • @leogecko94 Yeah I am trying to learn that! :)

  • is a sector 9 shattered with gullwing sidewinder trucks good for slidding?

  • @NeyooooProductionz Sidewinders are not the best for sliding. They're really loose agile trucks that make it hard to break your wheels free. It can be done, but consider Randal or Paris trucks.

  • COMMIT THOSE SHOULDERS!~!!!

  • HELP! Can you use Paris Trucks to try this? My Sector 9 board has Paris Trucks and I was wondering if those could work to try this out? Thanks

  • @Mydgetslyr32 Yes Paris trucks are great for sliding and all around longboarding.

  • sweet those were sick slides

  • Thanks bro after christmas I'll

Watch again and hopefully get it

  • Can i use a globe cruiserboard to slide?

  • @safaritown I guess thats a good choice thanks!

  • @safaritown I was thinking of putting it the orange orangatan 4president, is it a good choice?

  • @eLSkAtEr27PR Yes they are great wheels and super popular. They will slide after broken in. If you want a wheel the slides right out of the box check out the Orangatang Stimulus Wheels.

  • @safaritown all otang wheels come pre broken in i belive watch motion boardshop wheels video i think that's where i saw that. much love

  • @duckpk10 nah man no they dont... you gotta ride for a little bit and break em in. but once broken in there is no slide you cant do

  • forgeted now im going to buy a tan tien

  • @eLSkAtEr27PR The Tan Tien is a great board! For slide wheels check out the Orangatang Durians or stimulus wheels.

  • I got a question. I tried to slide for the first time today . Idk what slide i did but it was kinda like a push up and it was hard to get back on the board. any tips?

  • WOW!! Finally a video that's worth a crap. Good stuff. Thanks for the information. Once I learn to slide, I can go faster and steeper.

  • Can you slide on a teardrop longboard

  • a dancer?

  • Awesome! Goin outside to learn it now. Thank you!!

  • @safaritown Im looking to buy a rayne baby killer mostly i want it for sliding which weels do you recommend to put?

  • HELP! Can you just use the Sector 9 trucks they give you when you buy the board to slide??

  • @TheACGProduction Yes, most Sector 9 Longboards come stock with Gullwing Trucks. There are different model Gullwing Trucks such as the chargers, bombers, Alpines etc. These should all be fine for learning to slide. I would make sure you have reverse king pin trucks for your longboard depending on it's size. Do you know which trucks you have?

  • this is a really good video, thanks!

  • @HMHLongboarderz Thank sfor your reply. This video is actually a beginners guide to learning how to slide. Style can come later.

  • Do you want your trucks tight or loose for sliding?

  • @ScarletsFallen I prefer loose trucks. I think that it helps if you can get the board turning before you start to slide. But it's really a preference thing, either way will work.

  • Im gonna buy a longboard for sliding and for downhill, which longboard can i buy?

  • @eLSkAtEr27PR almost any dh board with good concave

  • Really great video! Thx!

  • Can you Learn sliding without gloves? Or highly recommended to get gloves?

  • @ScarletsFallen Yes we recommend getting slide gloves. It is much easier and safer to learn with slide gloves!

  • @safaritown Allright, thanks, i'll grab some for christmas :)been doing small drifts without em, and find myself wishing i had em thanks!

  • thanks really helpfull

  • how long did it take you to learn to do a stand up 180?

  • das ganze auf deutsch !!

  • Hey do you need specific wheels to slide and can you slide on a pin tail?

  • @xrichie95 Some say they can slide any wheel. It is also true that some wheels slide easier than others. There are also slide specific wheels like the Orangatang Durians, and Stimulus wheels that have pre rounded edges and smaller contact patches, to help make them easier to slide. You can also get a harder durometer wheel like an 83a or 86a to help you break them free. As far as a pintail goes. Yes guys do slide on pintails, but boards with concave, and lower to the ground will slide easier.

  • this guy is so tall

  • I understand that stinkbuggin/grabbing rail like that was how a lot of the old school skaters did it, and if it wasn't for them shredding like they did the sport probably wouldn't have progressed like it has. But its progression, most people don't stinkbug because grabbing rail behind your back leg is better form in racing for many reasons, but I don't have enough room in the comment to explain it all. No disrespect to you or anyone else.

  • @PERRONmedia No problem! I just wanted to mention the classic old school guys like Chris Sturhann, Larry Bertlemann, who all grabbed rail and made it useful and functional! Our skateboarding roots go back to guys like that! We do understand that their are lots of different ways to slide and some slides work better for speed and racing. This video is a beginner how to slide video. We feel starting off with the basic slides can then help you to progress to more technical slides.

    Thanks!

  • I underestimated how much force id be getting when the wheels would slide, and on my first try i landed right on my face when the wheels slid. LOL.

  • @kickmo Hope you were alright! Remember your protective gear when sliding, or longboarding!

  • I promise I've seen at least 25-35 "how to slide" videos, I just want to say thanks bro, this is the only one that worked for me. I was ready to give up no lie, great directions and well articulated. AND MAD PROPS on showing the 90 degree mess ups, THAT WAS TOTALLY MY PROBLEM THE WHOLE TIME. THANKS HOMIE!!

  • @bigmow21 Glad the video helped you!

  • @safaritown Thanks for posting this video, I've been trying to get past 90 degrees on my slides for days now, and I pretty much did what you showed in the video. I didn't dedicate my shoulders to the entire 180. Guess i'll be 180 sliding by tomorrow, if it doesn't rain. Once again, thanks ;P

  • @RythmicFlow Glad it helped you!

  • Nice vid man! Would you recommend orangatang stims? Or a pin powerball for sliding? Im new to longboarding! Thanks!

  • @RecycledRoboAdobo

Both sets of wheels will work great for sliding! The Pink Powerballs have great slide characteristics, and so do the Otang Stimulus wheels. The yellow stimulus wheels are an 86a durometer and will slide fairly easy!

  • good vid very informative after looking for hours(not really just felt that way) I came across yours.

  • I always get stuck at 90°, I'll take your advice and try to got all the way with my shoulders

  • How easy is it to stand up slide at this speed?

  • great helpful video well done

  • im quite new to longboarding and ive been lookin for a while for a good vid on how to slide and i gotta say man yours is definately the best n most helpful. thanks :)

  • I have been longboarding for a while now and have just started to learn sliding. this video helped me a ton.

  • whats about your board that makes it easy to move side to side? ex= 1:17 - 1:21

  • @ihatecardboard To be completely honest. I got it from surfing. A flexy board REALLY helps. It's really tough to learn on a board that's stiff. Almost impossible. My best advice, if you want to learn to speed carve, is practice some vert skating. Learn how to generate speed off walls. Just ride around a bowl and try to pump sideways with your longboard on the wall. It feels a lot like surfing. And then you can transfer that same pump motion to your carving.

  • thanks sorry for my english and miss spelling

  • I got sector 9 wheels those orange you can see through them are those good for sliding or what do you recomend

  • @unityelt I'm not sure exactly which wheels you have. But you can check the durometer of the wheel to see how slide apt it is. The harder the wheel the easier it'l be to slide. You could still learn with those wheels, it just wont be all that smooth. I like Orangatang freeride wheels most. I feel like they have the most controlled slides. I'd recommend the Orangatang Durians.

  • @unityelt he is right, every sector nine board ive had the wheels were to soft. depending on where you live refers to what type of wheel you want. if you live in a hill region and im talking big hills get the in heats if you live in a flat or less hilly area get the stimulus.

  • stinkbuggin like a pro hahaha

  • i just can't get the whole sliding feeling down. been longboarding for about 3months, but downhill. have gone 46mph (followed by car) but still cant slide lol. i have a Landyachtz switchblade with randal 180s, bones reds, and orangatang 86a stims.

  • yo man i watched your video and this instantly wanted me to get out on my longboard and learn> i am really new to longboarding and really wanted a good viedo to get me going. i have a bustin meastro deck with bunstin customk wheels so i never thought i would be able to get sliding. i then starting trying to learn and didnt get the concept i was just turning. but shirly enough i learned and am now doing that slide very good. i wanna say thatnks you rock and this video was really helpfull!!!!!!

  • @14tigersrock -Glad you liked the vid! Yeah, sliding can be tricky to learn, especially with boards that are lower to the ground. But those Bustin boards can slide really well, with enough practice. I've got a buddy who has one, and he shreds on it. any how, thanks for the comment! Happy Longboarding!

  • @safaritown ur welcome i tought my brother and he got it instantly great vid ill tell people to check it out

  • Nice vid man!

  • Really helpful and made sense :D

  • thanks your video makes sence
