the person that bought this either isnt thinking or has never lived in a large city, he needs the set up done it reverse, this truck needs its ass lit up like the night sky and all that shit taken of the front, literally whats on the front needs to go the the back and the back to the front, in the city im from with big ass highways and fast moving cars you need to be seen so you dont become the accident
hey i am planning on putting an interior lightbar in my truck. i wanted to use sho-me by the inch lights to mount right below my rvm. how much do u think it would cost me and is it easy to install?? thanks
I'm not a big fan of the expedition, but that thing is sexy. Put those lights on a durango and then it would be really bad ass, but its still pretty sweet
I am a K9 officer and have a vehicle almost identical just minus the 2nd set of lites in the grill and I have another set in the rear window. I love it. People can see you coming for miles down the road and can't use the excuse they couldn't see me behind them. I do not worry about people not seeing me on the side of the road. Great job on the lites!
So that when you are stopped on the side of the road, cars coming behind you can see you and wont slam into the back of your car... 360 degrees of protection are needed. From my time responding to calls on highways and interstate the more lights you have the better. I'd even argue that you might want more lights in the back than in the front.
I have never done this but I know you have to bake the headlight in your oven for around 20 minutes at a low temp to soften the seal and carefully separate the lens from the rest of the assembly. There are videos and directions here on youtube for this
Their are bigger wastes to worry about. This is a very very small waste. You have to admit it looks pretty bad ass. I wish I could install white strobes on my own car. :-(
I'm more upset about the billions of dollars just given away to the banks and the trillions we have spent on two wars. Now THATs waste. I see what you are saying but their are much bigger fish to fry.
Robertgift, I know you think all of this is a wast of money and it has too much light on it,"Clown Mobile" as you put it. Well, the customer asked for all of this and more. The lights we put in each vehicle are all colorless until turned on and do not impede any airflow to the radiator. Our speakers are normally installed somewhere other than the grill, like in this vehicle, under the headlight. As your has 2 speakers in the grill opening doing just what you were taling about, blocking air.
How is there to many lights on this? This looks sweet like tis. And he makes them for cops,Ect so its not like hes wasting money on himself. Hes not even wasting money its called "Profit" So just chill. You couldn't do this if you wanted to.

Our tax dollars wasted.
Can be much moreffective if fewer expensive lights are coordinated to flash together.
Place side-facing lights as FORWARD as possible.
Rear window lights are a waste.
Why rear-facing lights?

Onlyellow lights facing rearward.
Not strobing lights, but ON/OFF flashing lights at 1 fps.
These lights may attracterrible drivers to crash into the parked vehicle.
Better and moreffective are the four-way flashers already in the vehicle.

Inside of each front wheel well behind and just above the tires, I placed an inexpensive oval Stop/Turn/Tail LED lamp.
Not noticed unless on, they appear bright in the dark wheel well.
Would like to place forward and side-facing LEDs in the headlight fixtures.
How does one open (remove) the clear headlight covers?

Thanks, Owl.
I'll go look.
Is there not a way to use an X-acto knife to cut away the seal?
Or razor blade to cuthrough the seal?
Reseal with silicone glue?
Would silicone outgas and film the plasticover or the reflective surfaces?

Waste adds up. And it IS expensive.
Needless waste, both in lights and in installation.
This looks ridiculous. As a taxpayer, I would be angry at such wasteful nonsense.
On my 2008 Expedition I have white strobes. Not worth the cost (mine were used and free.) They are too low.
You want lights higher. - headlights or above.
Front wheel well lights make sense for intersections.

My ideal is creating the most effective warning from the fewest expensive lights.
Also having them less noticeable untill turned ON and not diminishing aerodynamics.
With grill openings blocked by lights, will the radiatoreceivenough airflow?
Speakers behind the grill will also impede airflow and grillights will also interfere with speaker sound projection.
Where are the speakers in this clown mobile? Mine has two TS-100s speaking through the grill openings.

Where are the siren speakers?
To cause the least airflow impediment, I placed my TS-100s as far forward as possible.
With two of three grill openings filled, these lights impede airflow. Hopefully enough air will come up from below.
Clear when off is nice. But much is still visible.
I would move bottomost lights and bottom grill lights to the middle grill opening.
Higher is better: greater visibility, stays cleaner, less snow accumulation.
POV? Or taxpayers pay this nonsense?
