  • REVS needs a sophisticated method to drive. I t took some time to figure out what to do. Have to handle clutch, gear, and so on.

  • greetings 2 SCUD, best C64-remix you ever made! ...

GIVE US MORE SiXTYFOUR COMMODORE !

  • Buggy boy!! I used to play that when I was...like 4-5.. <3

  • GREAT SOUND! Where can I get the music?

  • .... But you didn't include three of the greatest C64 racing games: Scalextric, Racing Destruction Set and The Great American Road Race.

  • Pitstop was my favourite! Loved the pitstop crew animations! :)

  • I remember Formula 1 Simulator, good times.

  • The Test Drive driving part really sums the game up well, well for me at least

  • Haha, man I found that game to be impossible when I was a kid. Didn't stop me from playing it, though :P

  • i have a sega master system and it wont play this game i have it for the sega

  • I remember pit stop and pole position. I had these games (but the tape is dead now T_T

The datasette has eaten my best game tape ! )

The music is great what is it ?

  • Good video.

  • power drift !!!!

  • jazda!!;d

  • Good selection, the one I noticed missing was Grand Prix Circuit by Accolade.

  • which was, actually, the best racer on the c64.. ;)

I also missed WEC Le Mans and Supercycle.

  • My favourite was Super Hang-on!

  • need help!

I search a c64 game by using different vehicles can combine.

    sry for bad eng. :)

  • there was one i used to play that had all these different tracks you could select, racing against one person or the computer, but only two cars at a time. the only detail i can remember that might help someone remember what it was is that when you'd crash, the driver would come running out of the car and he'd be on fire. fucking great game.

  • rally speedway?

  • dude, that's it!

  • BEST OF THE BEST +10 brother!!!

  • cool but you did forget stunt car racer :D

  • great i think only one good missing the great american cross country race

  • awesome game.

  • I remeber that crash sound that souded like someone farting in a tin can. lol.

  • Power drift was my fave one.

  • nice nice nice!!!

  • Buggy Boy was one of my faves. I remember getting it on my new Amiga 500 at the time and being amazed at how life like the graphics were compared to my C64... Fantastic times.

  • Hehe funny finish. No stunt car racer!

  • No Turbocharge? Good old c-64!

  • Power Drift was my fave. I remember it having a really catchy tune..?

  • Damn, the Commmy Sure had a lot of Grand rix Games, Didn't it?

  • It's easy to forget how good the C64 was for Race games... Rad Racer on the NES was way worse than most on the C64. Great vid.

  • revs: press t to start engine, joystick down to then up and fire to start.

  • Why does that dick at 2:57 get to keep racing?!? You fucking died! Anyways that game loks so hardcore!

P.S. This music is goood. :)

  • powerdrift/buggyboy/pitstop 2 / turbo outrun /turbo charge/vendetta =) .. but u forgot grand prix circuit, supercycle and overlander to name but 3.. chris butler, who made powerdrift, did many games like space harrier etc. also

  • My favourite was Buggy Boy and Great American cross country road race.

  • Just like in your fighting game video, you suck at most of these games but you are a bit less sucky in this video

  • Thank you so much for bringing these memories! Powerdrift and Buggy Boy were all awesome games but probably the best racing games i have ever player on 64 would have to be be Stunt Car Racer and Grand Prix Circuit from Accolade!

  • @richempire I totally agree with you, except that Rally Speedway is also missing. I think Stunt Car Racer is totally outstanding, incredibly amazing programming for an 8 bit machine. Do you know the Sentinel. It is unbelievable how the C64 can handle 3d Grafics. Great Programmers. Grand Prix Circuit was also fantastic. The only thing that was annoying to my was the engine sound. They should have used the sound from Stunt Car Racer which made perfect use of the 3 voices that the C64 had.

  • Wow, I played most of thes games. Most of the time Buggy Boy! Very cool. Thx 4 the memories.

  • hi! nice video! thanks for crediting me for the music. :)

  • revs does not even work on my real c64 ?!?!?

  • Buggy Boy!!!,one of the only games that would work on my C64.(Always got the RUN READY RUN error with most of my games):(

  • very enjoyable, thanks. Good choice of music too.

Would liked to have seen the publish date next to each title, and also motor mania which was the first C64 racing game I ever played, something like 1982 :-)

  • very well done.

  • yeah, best game for C64 is Power drift:)

  • Power Drift Rulzzz!!!

  • Nice, but I miss "Rally Speedway". Played it for hours with my friends.

  • @rittersoftlan I so much agree, what a brilliant game, so simple, but so funny and so much fun, great memories, I would still play this today because of its simplicity!!! I wish we could have a go on it right now ;-D

  • turbo outrun, power drift, pitstop 2 and buggy boy ran it.. rest were ok.. check the title music on turbo outrun title screen.. its a sampling masterpiece =) although the atari 8 bit version of elektraglide was amazing compared to the c64 one.

  • load"*",8,1

  • LOAD "$",8

for a directory if memory serves. ;)

  • I thought that "test drive" was for PC's first. Oh yes history changes.

  • Not only was it on C64's first, but it had more colour and WAY better sound. I remember blowing away a PC user when he heard the great music and sound on the C64 version compared to his PC speaker, 4 colour PC version (with it's lovely pinks and purples ;))

  • LoL it seems that all that "golden oldest" i've played on PC first, were remakes from C64. But I've had C64 first! Where were that games? :-o

  • Pit stop II, Buggy Boy and Powerdrift...masterpieces!!

  • I had been looking for a game with a red car in it, but it was like a shoot-'em-up and it was horizontally scrolling though I can't remember the title of it :(

  • Last V8?

  • No it wasn't Last V8 I think I remember the title screen having a guitarish-like tune and near the start you had to jump over a cliff or two, but had to press spacebar to jump.

  • Action Fighter? Last Duel?

  • No it's none of them after just checking on lemon64 and they're vertically scrolling this was horizontally scrolling, but thanks for your help I may come across it one day.

  • I finally found the game I was after now and it was Break Thru it wasn't so much a red car in the game though, but if you check out the comments at Lemon64 then you'll read that you had to press the spacebar.

  • Bitter tears of nostalgia! :) My "where is" - question (though all can't be put in): Super Cycle (motocross game), Street Surfer (non-engine "racing" game), Stunt Car Racer? Ps. WinVice rules

  • Nicely put together but unfortunately no "Ferrari".

  • where is The Great American Cross Country Road Race?

and why just rear view racing games, we had plenty of other! :)

  • Thanks for the memories

  • My brother and I used to stay up all night playing Pitstop II.

  • Yeah, it was fun trying to give each other flat tires for the win!

  • Where's Super Sprint?

  • Where's Stunt Car Racer and Chase HQ ?

  • Just with 64 KB Ram.

  • "Grand Prix Circuit" is missing but overall a very nice video. thx.

  • Nice video!!!

    BRING BACK MEMORIES!!!

  • Thank you for the nice video. It brings almost forgotten times back to my mind.

  • where is Power Drift and continental circus and Turbocharge

  • Power Drift is in there! ;)

  • super trucks. i hah almost every game in this compilation. thank you. C64 still lives

  • Pole Position : ) I love Commodore 64...

  • I also played most of them

    nice vid!

  • Where's Turbocharge by System 3?!?

  • As stupid as they may look, i loved these games with all my heart and always will. This movie brought back a lot of good memory's. thanks mate.

  • ...Ah, its off Outrun

  • ...and i remember thinking that the graphics on Test Drive were amazing! Thanks for the nostaligic trip... Recognise the music too but cant quite put a finger on it!

  • Ahh... Memories... had nearly all of these.
