now see if you,d waited i,m gonna be changing my 306 turbo deisel shortly....same engine but with turbo oomph!........................you sure it weren,t the water-pump?
@lapisredux Hi LapisIII - yes, the same engine I think but without the turbo. Water pump ok - definately excessive pressure in the cooling system :-( What a great car and I miss her dearly . . .
@stillfindingmyway you could have replaced the head...but 170k aint bad....i,ve done 125K in the pug, the engine pulls well but seats and door hinges and such are getting pretty creaky....a bit like me goodself :)
The head gasket has gone on my 1.9 diesel Xantia (97k miles), quite a common problem.
