To me the higher registers of the Ocarina sounds really piercing, I wasn't to fond of that sound. Loving it when you're play the parts in alto, though. You're really good, but I'm sure you know that.

I'm not doubting heartBtrue's a good pianist (I have yet to check out her music), but the piano arrangement could stand to be simplified. There's too much reverb to include all those tones, especially in the deeper sections.

I bought a clay professionally made ocarina from Japan and its great, but

the high notes sound incredibly raspy and a bit gross unless you play very loud

Does anyone know any techniques to make this not happen?

I have the same problem with the mini ocarina of stl, but after long practice and try to modify the holes, I did not find any solution other than to blow stronger and moisten the tip with the language on a regular, if someone finds another solution, I am taker (ps: sorry for the englisch, it's a google translation :p)

yes I had the same problem with on of my ocarinas. Instead of simply blowing into the ocarina on a high note you may want to, rather, make the sound "ta" or "da" in to the hole. The note becomes more clear and you don't have to blow so hard. ^^ hope that helped!

Well, if its an alto ocarina, u should tilt ur head anth the ocarina towards ur chest pointing downand bring it back up when u get to the lower notes or just watch doc's ocTalk videos. Hope i helped.
