This is such an underrated movie. You don't know SHIT unless you see this movie, it's a Robert Townsend classic. This film is comedy GOLD! Ho-Cakes, Ho's gotta eat too!!!
Awesome scene from an awesome movie, classic late 80's, if I'm having a bad day all I have to do is watch the "Jheri Curl" scene along with latter of these 2 and can't help but die laughing.
Thanks so much for posting this for the attention of the wider world. A very underrated film.Like you said the budget was tiny, and when it was released this film received next to no promotion, but I think it stands up next to similar material from other performers of that era.
@MrGuntherthecat Everyone one of my friends has seen this!! So it's just above being a cult classic in my opinion. Although we all saw it on VHS back in the 80s. Classic film with some the greatest comedians!!!!!
@siriusblack12757 glad to hear that, siriusblack. When I discovered this film, nearly all my friends were pale English white boys who just didn't get it....mind you, I was a pale white Aussie when I saw it (and still am), so I've no idea how or why it resonated with me, but there you go...mind you, I had just started listening to PE and BDP so that might explain it a little bit...

One of the first movies I learned how to record on VCR off of HBO. Another good one is Robert Townsend's Partners in Crime.

@MrGuntherthecat Well said. Definitely a hidden gem. Co-written by Keenan Ivory Wayans too.
