  • @WELLGURU Dolphins in captivity have to be trained to jump over obstacles. In the wild, the only obstacles for dolphins are shorelines and the ocean surface. A dolphin doesn't instinctively know to jump over something, it has to be trained. If a trained dolphin does exit an enclosure, it most likely wouldn't swim away because it's been trained to perform tasks for food. For an animal that uses echolocation, being in these small enclosures is torturous.

  • Okay this is getting ridiculous. Every video on youtube has a war in the comments between which countries are "better". It is no wonder the world is so messed up. NO country is better than another. Yeah maybe the UK started vegan but does that really matter? People all over the world are vegan now. Focus on the now, not who started what. Seriously this is just immature.

  • in addition animals in the US are the most protect it if you hurt an animal you go to jail.

  • @Gabrielaheart1 that's like that in every country

  • Years ago I was told by someone in the old program that the Dolphins were so intel. that they defected as a "group" when they found out what they were doing was going to"kill" others , also when they found you diving were you were not supposed to be they would poke a dart into the subject and explode them swimmers would get somthing equally as terrifing ! what really sucks is the Navy still keeps them in those small pools !! that is wrong and I cant see how they get away with it !

  • @WELLGURU You're either lying or someone lied to you. I am in the Navy, and have several friends who have worked with them. None have ever "defected," and they haven't done anything that has killed someone. They train to locate mines. I am a strong animal rights activist, and every friend i've had that has worked with the Marine Mammal Program were all very motivated in advocating animal rights.

  • @WELLGURU

Small pools? You do realize most of those dolphins have access to the open ocean daily right? And that if those dolphins really despised being in a seapen it could just JUMP it?

  • The U.S. Navy along with any other part of the U.S. government does stuff that is TOP SECRET. The fact is no one outside of the loop will ever know for sure what exactly these animals are trained to do. You stating that they do not go into enemy territory or they don't plant mines etc etc etc... Is infact, lets see, how did you put it? "Your ignorance is cute" You have no clue what they do or what they don't do.

  • @emkemner The Marine Mammal Program isn't top secret, or else when we (in the Navy) select our next duty station, we wouldn't be able to work with the Marine Mammal Program with out a TS or at least Secret clearance. You don't need either, and everyone I've known that has worked in the program says the same thing the people on this video do. Also, most of them were vegan/vegetarian animal rights activists, just like me.

  • :( it is sad for dolphin, cove!

  • I'm going to be in this program once i graduate high school. Go Navy!

  • @Elodee123 the dolphins get blown the fuck up by mines etc and you're happy to go and join this program when you graduate your crappy high school? Fuck you and fuck your navy full of retards.

  • @hippydude89 awww, Your ignorance is cute. You know nothing about this program, now do you? :) They do not "get blown the fuck up by mines". They are taught to located them (and not go near them) and put a marker near by so they can be properly disposed of. I'm surprised you don't know anything about the program. Or you'd be bitching about something that they really have to do. Honestly, stop stalking me on youtube and find someone better to troll; Thanks.

  • @Elodee123 they are still shot by US marine's enemies. Not only this, but native dolphins and other marine mammals will be killed due to US enemies thinking they are naval animals.

    DOLPHIN HATER!

    lmao

  • @hippydude89 Not really, they don't go into enemy territory. More of patrol theirs. Which if you have any idea they move pretty fast. They wouldn't really "get shot". Everyday many dolphins and whales are killed; Not for that reason. And as before, they don't go into enemy territory. So, they would feel no need to look for them. Try more irrelevant, unsupported statements. :) But you are pretty funny.

  • @hippydude89 the US love their animals yes the are crazy people but we protect animals that i don't know if you are aware that the US is in a war of whales . they have send ships to protect the whales from getting kill. some people kill then for food but since is one of the in danger list the US is protecting then. has sent war ship to those who wants to kill those animals.

  • @Gabrielaheart1 what's the difference between killing whales for food, and deforesting thousands of acres of rainforest to raise cows that you kill to make american mcdonalds? Please tell me. Typical yanks- harming the planet but only bitching about other people instead of admitting their own problems. Until you guys stop fucking up the world don't complain about whaling countries.

  • @hippydude89 Don't generalize and say that all yanks are like that. Many of us are opposed to McDonalds as well. There is more of us vegans in the US than there are in other countries, and we want to see things in this country change as much as you do. When you generalize by nationality you display the same narrowminded nationalism as the people you are criticizing.

  • @esteebo wrong. Don't just make "facts" up. UK has waay more vegetarians and vegans than USA. look at the vegetarian society etc, it's a much more prominent thing in UK's culture. Not to mention it was a brit who made the word VEGAN up. Also it's YOUR country that refuses to sign kyoto and admit the obvious fact anthropogenic climate change is real. It's your country trashing all the rainforests and it's your country letting corporations shit in your oceans.

  • @hippydude89 Right, I'm pretty sure it was YOUR country's corporation, BP, that was letting shit into the ocean just last year. If you think the UK is some bastion of innocence, you are a blind dumbass.

  • @jiminy82 BP- beyond petroleum is just as much american as it is british. Get with the times, dumbass.

  • @hippydude89 you sure are full of hate for a "hippy" aren't you? Just another internet douchebag, get in line with the rest of the herd, PEACE.

  • @jiminy82 possibly the most comment I get. Someone butthurt that I'm not gonna sit their and take their bullshit hm like some stoner with no real opinion?

  • @jiminy82 most common comment*

  • @esteebo but of course..the japanese are the bad ones.

  • @hippydude89 While there has been some fear that someone "might" shoot the dolphins, there has never been a case of this ever happening, and they don't get blown up by the mines either.
