@WOOORRRAAA Thanks and I really wish I could? I have yet to receive one cent from the parents of their kids who stolen this guitar and trashed it and then moved avoiding a court order! Little idiots thought it would be fun to steal my guitar to go play Guitar Hero or some shit and then trash it afterwards beyond repair. The only other guitar I have that would come close to doing this song is my Ibanez & that is set for standard E and Drop D tunings only. This song is in Eb Its Y I had 3 guitars.
dude i saw your ronnie video and i liked it and i think this one kicks ass too I wish i could give u 5* but i will give u a thumbs up. Keep rockin METALLICA!
@MuckyFingerz16 Its a Jackson DXMG Dinky. I f you are looking for one to buy go through my website. My affiliates have some really great deals and if you can by chance find a price thats is cheaper? They will match it or even beat it! This guitar runs about $500 US sometimes cheaper? But its a popular guitar for the last 6 years! I bought this one before it was stolen and trashed in 2004. It was only $450.00 back then. Good guitar though.
@DreidMusicalX hey can you make a guitar tutorial for this song? i can't find any on the rhythm of the song, most of them are bass, it would really help. Thanks alot :)
Thanks but Line 6 PODxt and Flextone IIIXL ams are setup XLR to run through mixer and does better running through a mixer? This studio was set up for a full band and if everyone started miking amps there would be feedback from hell all over the room. Also to me miking amps doesn't sounds as good unless you have some really expensive mics and only for studio recording.
@DreidMusicalX when u play wiht a band u dont have to use mics. im saying mic the amps for recording. and im pretty sure if u can afford all that u can afford a shure sm57(1 of the best recording mics)
You need to listen to my other videos that are not shot with a cam. They have DRSV in the header of the videos. I would rather use the PODxt for recording guitars, way better recordings! I have a Shure KSM32-SL and a Marshall V67Condenser Mic but never use them. Maybe some day for vocals or acoustic guitars when I ever get another acoustic that is? But this video was way before I got those mics. I am actually thinking of selling them? Really not much need for them now.
Haha thanks man, ya its a bit weird! I actually learned this song when the album came out and stopped playing them for over two years later on. I don't watch TV hardly ever, or listen to the radio? The only time I hear or see things is at friends houses when they force me to listen or watch them? lol! Or on here browsing around? SO it was like 3 years later after I had learned this song before I even seen the video to this song! lol!
Wow,,,your really good. I really love this song and you did an amazing job. I love the twist you added to it. Thats what makes a cover yours and i really appriciate that. As a girl ive always wanted to play guitar like this, i want my uncle to teach me but hes rarely in town. He only comes through when touring. Hes with a band called the Sawyer family. Any way you really have a god given talent and thanks for sharing it with us:) Oh btwyou should cover whiskey in the jar:) that would be amazing.
Thank you! I love playing and sharing stuff with people. It makes it worth while when people enjoy it no matter if its a cover or one of my own songs. Thats really cool you're uncle tours, but I hope you practice anyways! Learning to play from someone is good is allot of ways to learn right, but you also have to be yourself in playing or you will sound like everyone else. try to learn as much as you can of all styles. Also as many know me on here, if need help just email me & I will try to help
as much as I can? Join my website as well. I have free lessons that I post every now and then that may help you. dude that is sick ive always wanted to learn that song can u like post a video teaching people how to play that song pleas think about it =D anyway awesome vid
Thanks man, I would teach it but I fear getting account shut down and a law suit form Metallica and their copyright holders? I mean I dont know if they would do it again after it almost ruining them the last time. But I would put it past the companies that own rights over them like books they sell own copyrights as well? But I can send you tabs that are correct if you have a email address you can send me.
thanks man, I do like it better with the heavier rhythm in it also. Now I have to get another guitar? lol! This one was stolen from me, now I only have my Ibanez and EP- LP Custom. Good enough for most stuff, but not for Eb with tremolo songs
I read a few comments that you posted to other people on videos that you watched, and I have to be honest, I thought you were a total douche bag. I started reading more of what you had to say, and then went to your account page and started realizing that you knew what you were talking about (lol). You have a new subscriber - I'm 16 and been playing for 8 years. You know what you're doing man, keep it up.
I'm glad i made you feel good, and thanks for the channel comment. If I had a video camera of my own, I would post up some Metallica covers and see how you like them. I recently acquired a new SG, it's an Epiphone though, but it was a great deal - $600 (the price was marked down $400). Sound quality is fantastic and I call it my baby and I love to show it off, heh. Anyways, my brother is going to get me a great quality camera soon so I'll let you know when I post up some videos.
Thats cool man! I don't think Epiphones are bad at all! The one I bought actually played and sounded better then the Gibson's they had there for twice as much! I walked out with My EP Gibson Les Paul Custom saving $600.00 with the case from the others they had there? And it plays and sounds just like any standard Gibson does. I never have been a Name brand or Trend type person anyways. Why pay for just name, I pay for the way it works & few times does the name make the difference? very Rarely!
And yes when you get a camera I would love to hear some videos of yours! I need to get a better camera myself. I would like a HD camera but not right now? Just to expensive with all the other stuff I have to do now.
dang, yeah just a good quality camera would be awesome, the one my bro is getting me is 1200 dollars and its to go for my mini studio, he plays with me a lot. Have you ever heard of something called "The theory of music"? it's a whole different style of learning how to play your instrument, rather than just learning the notes and chords and techniques.
And I agree about the name-brand bullshit, idk why but EP has just never been anything to me until I got this SG
Yes I have been learning about theory for along time now. Just remember why its named "theory" instead of "fact" that some people think it is. I have to say learning anything is good as long as it doesn't limit your mind from thinking and put you in a category or a box.
Well theory is much easier if you already know most of the chords but it's what actually gives your music that you create along with your band rhythm instead of just sounds, and once you've mastered it, you can basically play to ANYTHING that you hear. And unfortunately for YOU, my mind is what you called "limited". At least to the type of music I listen to and play, and that category is Metal. Any kind of metal, except death and screamo, but mostly classic stuff like maiden and poison...
I have learned songs for 20 years by ear, & have played in 6 bands that were very good! But I trained my mind to do it buy ear. Still do! & I have taught myself everything I know! Almost everything you hear me do is done that way. Almost? What I mean by limiting your mind is saying you cant do something or it cant be done or its the only way? NEVER say something cant be done or its the only way! And those who say it cant or its the only way, are those who are limiting themselves!
I don't have any problems anymore of playing what I want to learn. But I don't follow trends of what everyone else does. Just like when I posted this is because I do it differently from most others out there. Not that I couldn't have chosen any other Metallica songs from the earlier albums that I also play. But so does everyone else? My ways are to stay as different from others as possible, not like them. All music is relative but you don't have to always follow everything that everyone is doing
Go listen to one of my songs like Wild Child or 92K. They are the same in sound as many other songs but they are not played the same ways as most people would have played them. Listen to what makes Wild Child change from just the rhythm video to when adding leads to it in the second half video, then listen to the leads themselves in it. None is bound by theory just feeling. listening to 2 different people play same thing if one plays with feeling you can hear it Learn from things then let it go!
I have seen them for around $250 at WalMart for one that looked alright? Don't really know what the good ones are for being indoor out door? Where did you get your at? And do you know what a good indoor outdoor one is, what model maybe?
I mean dependant on what sound your looking for hah, like if your looking for a thrash sound their old albums are better, and for a more complex rock sound Load and ReLoad, my fav albums by them are Actually Load and ReLoad because of the lyrical work and also some of the riffs. Makes them a more complex band. Also love your lead part in the chorus, when i hear this song i always think of your version hah and miss that bit.
Thats true with the heavier sound in the early lbums, but power chords are the most used for thrash sound and after while become very basic and boring. Accept to the listeners that is? I do like Metallicas eary songs but I was burned out them around 1995 so I stopped playing there eary stuff besides a few songs we did live. Every guitar players does there early stuff anyways so I went on doing other bands and songs and mostly Meatllicas Load album because most players didnt cover those. I did?
If you want better gigs you have to be able to do what most the others dont. Its gives better chances of them picking you out of all the others that play the same exact things and they seemed to pay more also to have you play for them. But there is also the other side where a club will not allow you play some songs that are too heavy Most went down your song list and listened to them before telling you can play them unless you were in a thrash club that didnt pay worth chit! Pays to be different
ffs, that is great great work, awesome ... and song is one of mine favourites, dont know why some people dont like it,liyrics are strong, music is great and video, video is awesome ... great job dreid
They switched to using more than just they same old power chord stuff and added more melodic rhythms. That throws a player off when thats all they know? lol! Thats what I take it as? Or maybe they cut there hair? lol! I play something from every album and you can tell the changes from one to the next and tis one I think there had to work a little harder themselves in the playing, so it became one of my favorites. and thanks!
Thanks man! its not my best version of it, but it was ok for that day. Cheap chorus pedal shifting the tone around but it was worth posting. Take the bad with my good stuff? At least people will know what thell get from me live.
JOin my Club Membership and get books from me and all your favorites! No hidden fees! reall book and for $23.98 flat! Thats it! No extras fees! Oh/ and 50+ books a year!
Thanks man! I really think KH playing was a little more complex than some of the early stuff. Not that it was faster, it didnt have to be. I really think it showed another side of him as a musician in general. Like Bleeding Me is a great song to play also. I actually like the whole album.
Me too. Load was great, I dont care what anyone says. It was a lot of bluesy-metal if that makes any sense to ya. Thats one of the things I loved most about it, it didnt need to be the fastest, heaviest album, it just had to show where they were at musically, and I think it worked out amazingly.
Man!! 100% agree with you...:) I think Load is maybe better than all albums from 80s and 90s and maybe best almbum from ´tallica... But lots of peoples think about me , I am crazy...
I don't listen to them that much, but this song, I LOVE, and when I think of 'em, it's the one song that plays in my head...Thanx for sharing and reminding me to take a listen to them.
Your welcome Tammy! Alot of people dont like this album? I dont know why? This song has Very well put together leads with a great semi hard rhythm to it. The vocals are good too! I think this album reached out to all ages?
They were a little too hard core for my taste? lol! These bands have good music until I hear the vocals? If I cant understand it without having to look at the lyrics on paper I dont bother with it anymore. When I was younger I didnt care, if the guitar was good I played it!
awesome covers and original pieces. I'm sooo under-learned compared to you and a lot of other guitarists. Know of a band called 36 crazyfists? I think you would do an awesome cover of one of their songs. should consider doing "Bloodwork". Ahh.. good ol' Jacksons...
get some recording shit man, the sound being picked up on the camera makes it sound unproffessional and by the way you play i can tell youre far from amateur. Keep up the great shit
I play and record on my newer videos of 2008, I have many to redo over when I get time to do it? Im on the road right now and have very little time to anything. Thanks
hi again, one of my favourite metallica songs, and yet again I like your take on the guitar better than the original, you really got skills and heart man.
Thanks man! I did change this song for the better I hope? haha! I put a few different things into it like the distorted rhythm parts I put more skipping on the strings to make it heavier like the old Metallica sound. I also put a added tap harmonic in the dead spot of the solo, that I think adds a bit more stlye to it? Then a more brillant sounding vibrato effect at the end on the last chord. I actually like the Load album. KH actually got more intricate with his playing and leads on this album.
I liked there old stuff also and played allot of it! I did this for my wife only! There stuff has just gotten old to me? And after Jason being gone? Well, its not the same old Metallica! Thanks Kem
Thanks, I play a few of there songs from this album about the same way? Aint My Bitch, 2X 4, House that Jack Built, Hero of the Day, Mama Said, and Bleeding Me. But I need to practice up on them a bit before I record them to video. I was in a car accident and havent played them in a few years! But Ill get them out later. And some from other older albums of theres to.
Give me a little time to get a new email acount, and Ill try to send you the tabs. Subscribe to me. So I dont lose you! Ill do the same. Maybe I can help you out with some of the songs you need.
Yes! Nice, Dave! Luv me some Metallica any time. And that's quite the gorgeous Jackson you've got there :) I'm not a player, I just admire guitars for the amazing joy they bring me in the right hands, and also as (serious) works of art. You rock! Hugs, Joy
Thanks Joy, I have been using Jackson most the time I have played, and Ibanez. They have the overall sound I like most. KH is a amazing guitarist, Though I take after no other Musicians style directly. But I may redo this song later after I get the Wha Pedal pitches set correctly for the solo.
Im sorry, You wanted the Model. Yes it is the 24 Fret Jackson MG Series DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar. With EMG Hz pickups and Reverse Headstock. I think I paid $699 for it with case.
Its a nice guitar to play on, the action on the string are amazing.
I never changed the pickups on mine. I always buy the guitar for the way it sounds with my equipment I have. I done that once! Took it home and the Duncan Pickups would not stop sreaming on my amp. I had to leave the room from feedback. And I like them the way I bought them. Except my Ibanez. Its Tremolo is custom.
Oh I kinda started off slow in a way. Also where people would wonder what Bands I do play? hehehe! There will others as I get back the bit I lost over time. But there will be more!!! Im starting to feel the old me more now.
Yes I read a bit of music too! Its not all by ear. But sometimes its easier by ear to pick up thigs I already Know in my playing. Remember theres 2 guitars in Metallica, And they split octive parts allot! And the same Notes or Chords That are the same note! But in 2 different places on the Neck. But the book helps you tell whos playing what part and when? So books are always better than by ear! You need to have somekind of music theory. And by ear you wont get it the way you should? Dave
Also I use A B C D Banks On the same Board! So Bank A is A Clean Guitar, Bank B Is a Clean w/Effect with a wobble effect you here at the very last notes of this song, C Is a Slight Distortion , D is full Distortion. And each song is set up this way on each bank I have. But I need to adjust the Wha Tone to match this song. That im working on right now! The notes are correct, the pitch is off? I play this song straight from the book! But adding a little of my Own style as well! More Grunge! Dave
I have 32 Banks with A - B - C -D on the FBV Short Board. Then it has the Volume Wha Pedal. With expression to use both at the same time! It also has Loop Button, Tuner, Delay, Modulation, Stomp, And Reverb on the FBV Board also at my command in a second! And the fact I havent played this song in over 2 years, I didnt set up a Metallica tone yet? So it wasnt bad for the first time in over 2 years! Ha Ha Dave
Thanks my friend, I added a little more to it though? I kinda have this habit of leaning all the lead guitar parts, and fitting in the second guitars parts into the missing spaces from the rhythm guitarist as well. It makes it more of a challenge for me. But I can play it both ways. Its just a litle more boring for me? If I dont put my all into it. Thanks. Dave
Thanks Annie, I wish I could get a little more Wild than I do here my vids for you guys? But If I slung My guitar around my head or something? I would take out allot of equipment! I need to dial in the Line6 Wha tone better, I just played that song for the 1st time in over 2 years today. I played it once, Then Video taped it on the 2nd try. And that what I got? lol! But I wouldnt have thought you would listen to Metallica? Ya! xo Dave
You hit all the parts ... very cool. -rjd

Off and on? 25, 26 years? But only the last 6 years again after my accident and about 6 years before that? I would say 12 total since the age of 16.
DreidMusicalX 3 years ago
I mean dependant on what sound your looking for hah, like if your looking for a thrash sound their old albums are better, and for a more complex rock sound Load and ReLoad, my fav albums by them are Actually Load and ReLoad because of the lyrical work and also some of the riffs. Makes them a more complex band. Also love your lead part in the chorus, when i hear this song i always think of your version hah and miss that bit.
ScottAOwen 3 years ago
Thats true with the heavier sound in the early lbums, but power chords are the most used for thrash sound and after while become very basic and boring. Accept to the listeners that is? I do like Metallicas eary songs but I was burned out them around 1995 so I stopped playing there eary stuff besides a few songs we did live. Every guitar players does there early stuff anyways so I went on doing other bands and songs and mostly Meatllicas Load album because most players didnt cover those. I did?
DreidMusicalX 3 years ago
If you want better gigs you have to be able to do what most the others dont. Its gives better chances of them picking you out of all the others that play the same exact things and they seemed to pay more also to have you play for them. But there is also the other side where a club will not allow you play some songs that are too heavy Most went down your song list and listened to them before telling you can play them unless you were in a thrash club that didnt pay worth chit! Pays to be different

blitzkriegeC18 3 years ago
They switched to using more than just they same old power chord stuff and added more melodic rhythms. That throws a player off when thats all they know? lol! Thats what I take it as? Or maybe they cut there hair? lol! I play something from every album and you can tell the changes from one to the next and tis one I think there had to work a little harder themselves in the playing, so it became one of my favorites. and thanks!

Badass man. Way to make it your own while still keepin it metallica. And I agree, Load was a great album.
metaltolliver 3 years ago
Thanks man! I really think KH playing was a little more complex than some of the early stuff. Not that it was faster, it didnt have to be. I really think it showed another side of him as a musician in general. Like Bleeding Me is a great song to play also. I actually like the whole album.
DreidMusicalX 3 years ago
Me too. Load was great, I dont care what anyone says. It was a lot of bluesy-metal if that makes any sense to ya. Thats one of the things I loved most about it, it didnt need to be the fastest, heaviest album, it just had to show where they were at musically, and I think it worked out amazingly.
metaltolliver 3 years ago
Man!! 100% agree with you...:) I think Load is maybe better than all albums from 80s and 90s and maybe best almbum from ´tallica... But lots of peoples think about me , I am crazy...
Sharkis12 3 years ago
Musically its better, but not in sound :)
ScottAOwen 3 years ago
Why do you say that? It has great sound to it, its just not the simple power chords that everyone was use to playing

Your welcome Tammy! Alot of people dont like this album? I dont know why? This song has Very well put together leads with a great semi hard rhythm to it. The vocals are good too! I think this album reached out to all ages?

asjghasjsdafjksdfjks 3 years ago
Thats why I havent heard of them? I dont listen to death metal.
DreidMusicalX 3 years ago
Eh bloodwork isnt really hardcore or deathmetal some of there other songs may be though. i used to listen to bloodwork by 36 crazyfists alot.
cannottank 3 years ago
They were a little too hard core for my taste? lol! These bands have good music until I hear the vocals? If I cant understand it without having to look at the lyrics on paper I dont bother with it anymore. When I was younger I didnt care, if the guitar was good I played it!
DreidMusicalX 3 years ago
lol thats how i am i will listen to the guitar in a song and block the vocals out if it has good guitar and bad vocs. same thing with playing

awesome covers and original pieces. I'm sooo under-learned compared to you and a lot of other guitarists. Know of a band called 36 crazyfists? I think you would do an awesome cover of one of their songs. should consider doing "Bloodwork". Ahh.. good ol' Jacksons...

benjeans 3 years ago
hi again, one of my favourite metallica songs, and yet again I like your take on the guitar better than the original, you really got skills and heart man.
lauritzen2 3 years ago

Yes! Nice, Dave! Luv me some Metallica any time. And that's quite the gorgeous Jackson you've got there :) I'm not a player, I just admire guitars for the amazing joy they bring me in the right hands, and also as (serious) works of art. You rock! Hugs, Joy
LeopardJoy 4 years ago
Thanks Joy, I have been using Jackson most the time I have played, and Ibanez. They have the overall sound I like most. KH is a amazing guitarist, Though I take after no other Musicians style directly. But I may redo this song later after I get the Wha Pedal pitches set correctly for the solo.
Thanks
Dave

that's badass man. i like the improv in the chorus, makes it sound more aggressive. how do u play that part?

Im sorry, You wanted the Model. Yes it is the 24 Fret Jackson MG Series DXMG Dinky Electric Guitar. With EMG Hz pickups and Reverse Headstock. I think I paid $699 for it with case.
Its a nice guitar to play on, the action on the string are amazing.
Dave
DreidMusicalX 4 years ago
that why i want it..lol....
my friend has one..but he replaced that pickups with a set 60/60 set
outlawBicth 4 years ago
I never changed the pickups on mine. I always buy the guitar for the way it sounds with my equipment I have. I done that once! Took it home and the Duncan Pickups would not stop sreaming on my amp. I had to leave the room from feedback. And I like them the way I bought them. Except my Ibanez. Its Tremolo is custom.

Dave
DreidMusicalX 4 years ago
Also I use A B C D Banks On the same Board! So Bank A is A Clean Guitar, Bank B Is a Clean w/Effect with a wobble effect you here at the very last notes of this song, C Is a Slight Distortion , D is full Distortion. And each song is set up this way on each bank I have. But I need to adjust the Wha Tone to match this song. That im working on right now! The notes are correct, the pitch is off? I play this song straight from the book! But adding a little of my Own style as well! More Grunge! Dave
DreidMusicalX 4 years ago

Thanks. Dave

Dave, Great guitar work... WoW! Awesome....~

Ya! xo Dave
