well the "hunting whales" is because "Leviathan" is based off of the sea and Moby Dick. This song is about the thoughts and feelings of Captain Ahab as his ship was ravaged by Moby Dick. The "blood and thunder" be the whale ramming into his boat, and such. the music video, however, has absolutely nothing to do with the song or album besides that fact that the clown with the blue beard has a sailer hat. : )  most music videos now a days dont have much to do with the song at all. just a trend..
