This "budgie video" is the only one that really makes my two budgie-girls go "crazy". My budgies doesn´t want to go out of their cage when I open it up, one of them (sometimes) just go out and to walk around on the cage... then walks inside again. My budgies are calm and harmonic. They are singing a LOT to the birds they see outside their window. (Their bird-cage is kinda large).

Thanks for all the comments. Kiki was a girl. I bought a male one a week after I bought her and named him Pepe. I always kept the cage door open so they could fly in the apartment. I never had a problem leaving the cage door open because the windows are screened but one day they chewed the screen (dug a tunnel!) and flew away. This video is just a reminder now but I see it entertains people so I'm glad I shot it. Thanks everyone.

I'm sorry did you lose one or both?What a wonderful video.I have some keets and cats.I don't trust my cats one bit with them,lol.I let them out in a room with a closed door when they are out and make sure the windows are covered and locked (top part of the window slides down sometimes).Well anyways good video.

i think u should get another budgie, its alays good to have at least 2. u should actually get a male for Kiki, if shes a girl. male and a female live together great and they dont have to have babies. but 2 parakeets that are the same gender usually fight if they live together.

no, girl parakeets may fight if there is a male to compete over.

males together with another male won't fight. and 2 girls won't fight unless they want to nest. they aren't violent animals (usually) males arebest together.

actually, they do fight, and sice u dont believe me, go to google or budgietalk, i learned alot about budgies from there, i discovered it when i was in the 6th grade.

well, it's possible for a fight of course, every budgie has a different personality, but they are social birds, and most likely will not fight. not if the owner moves the bird in right.

@goooooofygoober well now recently, my male parakeet(Primo) died and the female(Angie) is still alive. So i got her another male. I named him Kiwi. Angie didnt really like him at first. But it Kiwi fell in love with her! lol! So when they didn't get along i put Angie in the smaller cage which I like to call The Time-out Cage because she didnt let him eat.Then a day later theyre both fine. And now theyre pretty much bonded and happy now! Though I still miss my old parakeet, I'm glad I have Kiwi!

You can tell the gender of your parakeet by the color of the flesh bump on the top of his beek. Blue for boy, tan for girl.

It is a he. my parakeet had a few dark feathers by where a human heart is (she is all yellow). it was a small smudge about the size of a pea. i decided to name i named him (or her- it's still a baby [you can't tell male or female of a baby]) smudge. aka smudgie the budgie
