not a bad tone but to be honest man i've been running a peavey 6505+ minus the little bit of hiss from the amp it honestly has the greatest brown tone i have had. i like the tone off the marshall though
i have the 210H and its fucking great (check out some vids on my channel if you want to see more of the JVM) it has great warm cleans and awesome lead tones and well everything else inbetween :)
hello friend I have the same screen and the truth is that is amazing, and room to play styles like ozzy, bon jovi, the darkness, acdc etc, this amp would go well at low volume?
@utubefloyd Well, at least Metal sounds are a lot better when you go to about 5 or 6 master volume... But its only my opinion! And i am talking about OD2 Red channel and gain around 3.5 or 4. Sure is a monster of all amps, best one i have ever tested! Although nothing sounds as metal as a Bogner Uberschall... : D
@LesCrapio No, slightly different, due primarily to the different output tubes. Had a VM for a short time, but I just didn't care for the design of the preamp.
shitty camera mic or not this sounds awsome!! you have vintage 30s in that cab or celestions 75s? or are they greenbacks? i dont really give a fuck cuz im gettin my JVM next week :)
Check out FJA mods, for the early VH tone. The JVM is not bad, but mine lacks that low end growl found on a modded Plexi, regardless of EQ or level, it just doesn't do it like a jcm800.
@DSTaylor69 I'm pretty sure it was OD1 Red with the mid cranked, and everything esle about 12:00 (half). I was using a Gibson SG, which is obviously not the best choice for this sort of tone. Oh, and yes, lousy camera mic.
Sounds good to me. Dude can I ask a question, is there any way I can connect a marshall 1912 cab to a stereo Line 6 Spider IV 150 head. Line 6 say both 75W outputs need to be connected to 8ohm loads. Is there any way I can modify the Marshall to make it work with the Spider IV head? Thanks
@Hertsman50 You can connect either one or two 8 ohm cabinets to that head. It has two 8 ohm output jacks, and can drive either 8 or 4 ohms (one 8 ohm cab connnected to each jack).
I think you may have the tone pretty close, but you're letting the notes to the intro too much...gotta mute those...Hope you enjoy your amp! Im thinking of getting one of these.
You're right, I was messing around with the amp to see how close I could get with the tone. I've got the tone a lot closer now, so maybe I can actually try and learn the song next.
@utubefloyd naw man. i'm tellin ya, evh didn't use nearly as much as gain as a lot of people think he did. he did a great job with his playing to bring out the clarity in the notes without adding too much gain. i have this amp and i get pretty good vh tones on od1 when its on the green mode. try it out. it sounds really good either way but for van halen tone you don't need all that gain.
They are both good amps, but the JVM is in a different league than the Traynor. The Traynor is a good "classic" sounding amp for the money (chevy) vs. the JVM which is like the caddilac of Marshalls. IMO.
whats with all the dislikes?

@alpilon23 Yes, the amp sounds as good at low volume as it does at higher volume.

Not 100% perfect but it's damn good my friend. I only wish I could afford such equipment. Sigh.

It's not the same crunch of the VM 2266, is it?

Yeah, not dirty enough. More gain, mids and bass gets it closer.
