"Don't cook tonight, call Chicken Delight" Lots of great memories of Sacramento TV at its best. Harry Martin's interviews with Hollywood stars were better than any I have ever seen. Bob Whitten was the lead anchor for years until he had a major stroke, he tried to come back after the stroke and boy was that grim. It is a sure sign you are getting old when all the people you looked at on TV die of old age.
First Harry passes and now Bob, my 2 hometown TV greats I grew up with. The memories of my childhood are slipping away. It's unfortunate that the likes of what they gave us will never been seen again due to the corporate takeover of most local stations. Staying up late on Saturday nights to watch Bob Wilkins. That was a treat.
Harry Martin and Bob Wilkins! Wow! I also love how Wilkins teases Harry by calling him "Bob Whitten." Whitten was the lead anchor on channel 3 news if I'm not mistaken. Also love the Chicken Delight reference! Geez, what a blast from the past. Thanks.
I just saw Harry Martin passed away back in Feb. This saddens me so. I remember watching this two great Sacramento TV legends all during my early years in Sacto. I even remember the Chicken Delight resturants. Golden days. RIP Harry.
that was priceless - thank you so much for posting it. "Martin at the Movies" was an indispensable element of my classic-movie watching while growing up, and of course vividly remember watching the Bob Wilkins Halloween Horror Spectacular in tandem with this during the early 1980s
God bless Bob Wilkins!!!

Me too lol.. It seem like almost all of the old CF buffs were my age. Look at the set here, the desk, it's great!
