Man that color is nice looking. Been wanting a real Es-335 and just oufnd one craigs list but the guy wants new pricing for it. Plus it is red. I want the brown like this one.
Semi-hollows have such a big balls-out sound. They are relatively popular in heavy rock but I'm surprised they aren't used more in out and out metal. There's more to life than the humbucker'd superstrat surely?
@mostmusicisbad as a kid I used to love Ibanez, thought they were just pure metal. God, was I wrong. I totally agree and use that term to describe semi-hollows myself. I think of a semi-hollows as the most exquisite female specimen when it comes to looks and sound....with the biggest pair of balls hanging out it's g-string.
The Seth Lovers are great pickups. I liked them better than a pair of PAFs that I had. They aren't wound too hot which is why they sound good. The regular Antiquities are great too.
@OsamasInferno360 Best distorted tone IMO. Not muddy, but not ratty either. Warm like a Les Paul, but can sparkle like a Stratocaster too. Semi-hollows are the best guitars IMO.
PAFs all together sound AWESOME for hi gain stuff. Not that muddy "blah" without character you get from EMGs, but full of Character. You can hear how the pickup wants to attack you...raunchy, dripping with awesomeness, tone.
I love my Seths. I put 'em in a Dean Evo SS, and now I've got killer '57 gold-top tone. IMO they're the best you'll find for the price if you want that '57 PAF sound. If you want to get closer to an original PAF, you'll have to buy the Throbaks, but I'm not sure if he even offers an alnico II model (I really prefer the smoothness of the alnico II magnets). So-happy with my Seths right now..... and the Dean (Killer sustain). I'm getting that old gold-top LP tone I've always wanted.
I've got a 335 that I'm wanting to change the pups in - I play a bluesy progressive rock/metal style compositionally somewhere between Rush/Floyd and Opeth, preferring cleaner guitar tones. This sounds perfect!!!
Sweet! That bridge distorted was awesome. I woulda never known it was comming from a semi-hollow body. Think I'll pickup these pickups for my Sheraton II. Nice lookin guitar btw.
best stuff discontinued?? all the new models are crap.."The new Gibson Droid model, it tunes itself, distorts itself and it PLAYS itself, no need for talent!!" Get the hell outta my face with that shit!
ya the epiphone dot studio is an es-335 but it looks a ton like a es-333 because of the headstock and finish but ya other than that there is the gibson bb lucille i dont know if they still make it. That and the Tom delonge signature are the only ones i think. i have the tom delonge signature its amazing

mikeiswylde 2 years ago
The 335 has a pickguard.
FloroSapien 2 years ago
The 335 has a pickguard and 335's use 57 classics, and the 333 has no pickguard, and they have 498T and 490R set.
StreakingInJanuary 2 years ago
Are these in neck or bridge position?
Thanks!
JayIceColdD 2 years ago
Clean was the neck, distorted was the bridge. Both are Seth Lovers.

thefray123 2 years ago
the 333 is a stripped down version of the 335 they body is satin finished, the pickups are different type 490R and 498T

The metal sound misses a bit of tightness of some pickups, but the clean is a lot better than the clean tones of those. Awesome clean.
