  • I remember seeing them in Petaluma in '81 before 867-5309 came out, I had the first album and loved it. They put on a great show to a sadly undersized audience, but they played their hearts out. Also on the bill was Great Buildings, some of whom later formed The Rembrandts.Great show by both bands, I still remember it.

  • Studio version hit #38 in Billboard, 6-21-80. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • Fuckin' sick bass in this song

  • @JakeRies That is a compliment, yes? Just wanna make sure, that's all.

  • @crapple009 Yes, yes it is

  • I love this song...Right on!!

  • I had the chance to open back in teh early 80's for these guys. Great band I was a star struck 16 yr old lmao

  • these guys were so cool!!

  • I love this!!! Tommy Tutone is awesome!! Can someone please post "Not say Good-bye"? That 's my fave song by him!! Rock on Tommy!!!

  • too bad theres not more of this performance. need more than 3 songs, this is awesome. cheap date rocks too. agree w/all comments about underratedness of the band. its clear when u see these live vids. first two albums were fantastic.

  • I was not near aware of rock music tommy tutone's era but today after digging into their archives makes me wanna pick up my dusty guitar, call some friends and jam..INSPIRING!!

  • anyone have the studio version of this????

  • This sounds a little like van morrison. I'd like to see the original Tommy Tutone together again. Where's the show "Reunited"?

  • Hit #38 in Billboard. Most folks call 'em a 1-hit wonder because of 'Jenny' but this 1 ht the top 40 1st. God bless!

  • A great club outfit, and like Franko said...very underated!

    Keller...1st rate guitar plr.

  • This sounds damn tight for a live performance, but then Tommy always knew how to put on a show. Man I miss artists like these from the 80's.

  • I've seen much worse performers become way more successful. A few that come to mind are Neil Young, Metallica, Kurt Cobain couldn't hold a tune but is considered a rock god, neither could Courtney Love, The Doors, specifically Jim Morrison writer of great poems horrible singer... I could go on and on. Tommy Tutone is much better than you want to give him credit for. He is no Placido Domingo sure but, he adds soul and feeling to every performance and that is what makes music rememberable.

  • Yeah, to what grimmster said.

  • proud to say i got this album......vinyl

  • wore this album out

  • I forgot how genuinely great this record was!

  • Thanks for posting these. This song and Cheap Date are two of my all-time favorites

  • I wore the first album OUT. Loved this and the rest of the record. I'm a cheap date.

  • angel say no and rachel should have been way bigger hits

  • This was actually the first song that hit the top 40 from Tommy and the band.

  • Under-rated classic!

  • These guys were way underrated. They put out a couple of really good albums in the 80's. It's a shame they didn't get more airplay, Tommy Tuntone 2 kicks.

  • :D You can also listen to TOMMY TUTONE on MYSPACE !!! GO NOW ! And tell it to your friends ! ;) OK ?

  • Hadji rocks!

  • That is some damn fine rhythm guitar playing! Sweet and understated.

  • It makes me happy.

  • OMG I so remember these guys LOL Im so old LOL

  • Is Jim Keller the same person who DJ'd at KJET in Seattle?

  • A KSHE KLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Long Live K-S-H-E! I miss good ol' STL radio. Atlanta radio is pretty weak.

  • A fine song from my high school days - good to hear it again.

  • This came out before I was born but these guys were cool. I liked there other hit "jenny" too, it was released the year I was born. Something about the 80s was just awesome.

  • Awesome! Takes me back to High School! Compared to today's crappola, this is just damn fine music!
