  • Lol PhoenicianGoddess you never learn lol.

  • speaking arabic doesn't make of lebanese arabs , they have their own culture which is way different arab countries a unique culture in the middle between a western culture and arabic culture . early phoenicians are lebanese now and not arabs

  • thats true

  • I believe only 16% of the population of Lebanon are Arabs or carry the genetic marker of the (Saudi Arabians/Yemenis) known as: haplogroup J1 Y-DNA.

    The Lebanese (Phoenicians) share an overwhelming frequency of the Phoenicians' & Canaanites' Y-DNA -- known as "haplogroup J2 (M172).

    Again, the Phoenician Y-DNA is found within the muslim and christian population of Lebanon and pleaseeee nobody hates Arabs -- it's just plain stupid to say such a thing.

    _

  • The only real Arabs, ethnically and racially, are those who descend from

    what is presently known as Saudi Arabia

    and Yemen. Pakistanis=Indo-Aryan,

    Iranians=Persian,Lebanese=Phoenecian

    Iraqi's=Assyrians,Egytpians=Coptics,

    everyone else in North Africa is Berber.

  • Um. Ok. You're Phoneician. What now? What's the point? Deny being Arab, you still speak an Arabic dialect. Deny being Arab, the majority of the Lebanese population is Muslim. What does a Phoenician heritage do to ease sectarian tensions? Bring about true representative democracy? End economic inequality? Denying Arabness proves nothing.

  • I cannot believe this. I saw this film yeeaars ago at the national film theatre. What an excellent film it was. I didn't realise it, but judging by the comments below it still touches on topics relevant to today.

  • PHOENICIANS (LEBANESE) GENETIC MARKER IS:

    "Haplogroup J2 (M172) Y-DNA

    Yes, we are Phoenicians, at least the majority of the population of Lebanon whether they are muslims, christians, druze, alawites, or atheists -- carry Phoenician Y-DNA.

    LEBANESE = PHOENICIANS, CANAANITES, HITTITES

    _

  • The roots of Lebanese people are Phoenicians. After the Phoenicians, Lebanon encountered lots of civilization including the arabic ones.

    As a result Lebanon is simply Lebanese. Calling ourselves Arabs is scientifically inaccurate...

  • Abosutely true A majority of Lebanese are Phoenician NOT arab...thank you for recognising the truthhhh

  • I agree with you YaLibnan. Lebanon is not Arab just like Macedonia is not Greek!

    Lebanese are closer to us (Canaanite Semites) more than Saudis or Iraqis, it just makes more sense!

  • Jiena Malti Fenici, li jfisser nitkellem bil-Fenici kif zviluppa f'Malta.

    Il-Malti mhux gej mill-Gharbi, izda mill-Fenici. L-Gharbi, li tfacca ferm wara, imnissel mill-istess gheruq li tnissel il-Fenici.

  • that s tru we are lebanese and phoenicians ,not arab and will never be

  • We are not Arabs, and never will we be. We are Lebanese.

  • I'm sicilian and maltese, and yeah, I believe that I am a descendent of the Phoenician people, but both of my islands were conquered by more than just the Phoenicians. So to say that I'm a 'Phoenician' is not entirely true. Same goes for the Lebanese guy who posted this video. We're all descended from various Mediterranean people, and depending on which region you're from, your genetic makeup will be different from the next region.

  • True, but they found a majority of us do come from the Phoenicians. As well, it was only a cultural & religious shift. If you look into our languages, we'll find our Phoenician heritage. All of us are related as human beings...

  • I agree DNA proves a high # of Lebanese Muslims and Christians carry Phoenician DNA.

  • Ron Paul is for the people! Ron Paul for President!

  • where can i download this video

  • can anyone send me a link to download this film please?i cant find it in the stores.help meee

  • oi! try La CD Theque in Achrafieh... ask around 'se7et sisin' for it's exact location.

  • teehe a msheehoye suryoye, finiqoye, oromoye, othuroye...maythee a arab!

  • ana lebnene phinikee!!

  • Phoenicians and other middle easterners do share alot of common grounds: Culinary arts,Engineering,healthcare,

    maritime trading etc. Modern day Lebanese fall under

    the European and Arabian umbrella. I say modern day Lebs are a mix of what their Native ancestors were,and

    what the Arab immagrants that flee'd Lebanon were.

  • nor culturally because most of it started with us, so this is why we are so unique in the world. You are right, we our a cross from East-West, no question. Modern day Lebanese do have just a very small percentage of everything. Please do not forget that Romans, Greek, Macedonians, Egyptians, Turks and Babylonians have all invaded Lebanon before and after the Arabs. Only language and religion stuck to the people, and the language Arabic derives from Aramaic which derives from Phoenician.

  • Yup Phoenicians together with the Greeks are one of the first civilizations known to mankind...however I'd advise you not to mistake the ancient macedonians with the modern communist-created state of Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia...yet again Lebanese are the grandchildren of the Phoenicians!\/

  • Did you ever watch Alexander the great? I couldn't believe they portrayed him as a Greek, when we all know he was Macedonian Modern day Serbia ect. Lebanese are Phoenicians, and so are the Maltese and many others.

  • Guys, do not mix Nation with People. In the time of Alexander he discribed himself first.. to his father, secondly to his Town and third to his MacedonPeople (not Nation). The State of Lebanon and Macedonia is a creation like every state in the world today.Old Madeconds related there cultur to Athen,Sparta,Mileia and all the other "Greek" towns. In those days the people even did not know the term Greek or Country Greek nor Serbia or Lebanon

  • Well, you have it half right. But, do not mistake religion for culture. Also, Lebanon is the oldest name for a nation, it goes back to 4000 years ago. Just thought I would correct you on that. Macedonians and Greeks had a different culture & empire, although I will agree with you that they had a very similar culture, just like any other neighboring civilization with Lebanon. As well, they have a different history, it is wrong to mix them both up & this is why many oppose this Hellenistic idea.

  • c'est vraiment le débat les arabs existent ils encore?

  • this is really debates it the arabs exist they again? is that what you are trying to say lol Arab empire only rose long after Jesus Christ, the Phoenicians have been around for thousands of years..

  • r u serious? This is form the DVD, never been cut!!!
