We leave the door open during the day. Combined with the solar operated vents, and the solar fans, that creates air movement and bee entry. We also shake the tomatoes every day or two, or tap the plants with a dowel.
(It's Cate): Penny, The dome looks wonderful! You are inspiring! I'm just getting started but my tomato plants are thriving! Toni's friend Monte constructed our raised beds.
@lifeplace When we brought in my patio plants last fall, I also brought in aphids. I learned quickly that I was keeping plants beyond their prime, and the aphids went after those plants. I also tested my soil and discovered a high salt content. After flooding the beds with 8 inches of water to reduce the salt problem, the bug problem was greatly reduced. Now I mostly pinch the aphids when I see them starting up, or spray with water to knock them down. No plant damage to speak of.
Lovely!:) Like your own mini Garden of Eden!:D
