Keep up the pushing back , folks. Democracy needs all the help it can get -- don't we? Those of us up here in the impending winter of Montreal are urging you to fight on, and inform your fellow citizens. it is possible to stop public stupidity if you get enough people involved. We're with you in spirit.
The State and Commonwealth Government inspectors did not see 20,000 square metres of bright orange lead based paint on the ship. Surely this oversight must convince Avoca Beach users that all is not what it seems with this project.
It is now apparent the Adelaide project has beeen underfunded from the start.
The Coastal Processes Report did not contain sufficient depth of study.
The possibility of beach erosion and loss of quality surf predicted as a possibility by Dr. Goodwin must be taken as a warning. We must get it right. The Premier must postpone this project pending further study.
It was very helpful to hear the issues put down coherently It does seem that both sides are very passionate about their cause and the community is wondering just what to do and which side to back. To this end it seems sensible to follow Professor Goodwin's suggestion and put a wave rider buoy in Avoca Bay for 6-7 months and find out if the ship really will have an impact on Coastal erosion. 120 years is a long time to regret making the wrong choice.
