  • infinite growth is not possible in a finite world!

  • I hear a lot about Chris Martenson, and understand much about the nature of our society (the ponzi monetary system, etc), but how is he different to the malthusian viewpoint? When oil runs low wont the price signals of the market lead to increased investment in new energy sources (like fusion)? Less than1% of GDP is spent on this research, compared to healthcare (15% or whatever). Granted, there may be a period of readjustment, but we are not doomed imho. The power in a single atom is immense.

  • @meaninglesssname Malthus was right.

  • Well done. Intelligent, knowledgeable, insightful, and perceptive. Chris sees the entire picture and the understands forces that connect seemingly unrelated aspects of our lives. I love this guy.

  • What a first-class Dwork! His way of 'making sense' is mis-leading not a word about whatever Core Exit is or how the riots are connected with manipulation of the food supplies and deliberate eco-terrorism for the aim of dytopian and psychotic darwinian depopulation. They promote shale gas - look into it. Peak oil is a rumour, like climate change to cover up weather modification since Viet Nam. Don't bother thinking for yourself, listen to this dick instead. Free energy.

  • @DaftAida If you look at when Chris posted this video you would see that he posted its months before the Arab Spring started. There wasn't any food riots, etc. at that time. The Earth is roughly a 12,000 km (8,000 miles) diameter sphere with a volume of 1.08321×1012 km3 and a mass of 5.9736×1024 kg. Thus, no matter how many energy bound resources are available simple logic will provide that it's limted to less than these numbers. ie there is only a finite amount of resources within the Earth.

  • @theparadoxparadigm YES. Infinte growth is not possible in a finite world!

  • cold fusion and tesla type technologies will save us from the oil freaks.

  • omfg best video ever. Chris your rock !

  • You're the first dude who talks about the real problems of the world that doesn't ever get close to conspiracy theories and doesn't try to scare people but give them hope.

Great work, we need more people like you.

  • A very powerful case, especially about managing resource limits, our species' need to adopt exponential thinking to replace incrementalism, and about 'Peak Everything', imminent depletion of essential minerals beyond oil. What about the argument that technological innovations engender redemptive paradigm shifts? e.g. new generation & distribution of clean renewables, especially solar

  • @AlbanThurston dude forget the wind and solar energy that is like piss in the sea. Only solution is geothermal energy and fusion power.

  • @AlbanThurston

Dude -- good luck with the technology breakthroughs saving our butts! Can you say "scalability"? When should we start having these innovations and making them work for 7 billion and counting...?

  • Nice job fixing the videos Chris, or whoever is in charge of it. It's very good to see someone who is educating people of the issues of the Price System and the effects it will have on energy and resources heading to the future.

If you are well informed about our current predicament, look into Technocracy and energy accounting. It is a science based social design and based around the thermodynamic principles.

  • Great seminar as usual Chris, you are an excellent speaker, I always recommend Crash Course to friends and relatives who are confused about the world economic downturn and where its headed. Again thank you!! and Happy Holidays

    John, from Wilkes Barre Pa.
