They came to Tulsa, OK not too long ago and played at a casino there. I was one day from my 21st birthday and the 21+ venue didn't let me in! I was pissed!
@soittotaiteilija One time BACK IN THE DAY Bon Jovi was doing a secret club gig...the bouncer let me in even though my 21st birthday was a week away...he was like "Don't even THINK about going NEAR the bar..."
I saw Boc quite a few times in the 70s and early eighties. I remembe one show they closed with Born to be Wild. The Backs of their guitars had a reflective material on them so the lazers and lights would shoot off them . They always put on a Great show.
Music made for arenas, stadiums, backyards and basements... it just don't matter as long as it's B.O.C. and it's loud... What a great rendition of this anthem by the way.
Whilst taking purple microdot, circa 1980, rhe stage light glimmered off Bucks guitar directly into my eyes as " and then my eyes" was sung. I was blinded...Seared into my memory forever. Wow. What a flashback.
Greetings from a Blue Oyster Cult fan (from Saudi Arabia) . This band is one of the main bridges that linked Heavy Metal / hard Rock land with the land of Progressive sound . To add water to the mud , they are one of the most systematic , professional and innovative rockers ever ...
You and I both know it's impossible to define the 'best' guitar player. It's not like sports figures where 'the best' is easily quantified: Michael Phelps is 'the best' swimmer and Roger Federer is 'the best' tennis player - no one can argue that. But 'the best' guitar player? Purely subjective and totally speculative. These guys are 'some of the best' ... Yngwie Jimi Kirk Eddie Buck SRV Paco
Wish I still had heaven and hell t-shirt from the show. One thing about the song title I don't get. Doesn't "Cities AFLAME with rock & roll" sound more logical?
People don't know how hard drums are let alone to sing and play simultaneously. Albert Bouchard utilizes an amazing drum track (very hard to recipricate on the studio recording) and sings which is amazing. You can say tht Don Henley and Phil Collins sing and play, but I'll tell you that they suck at drums unlike this god!
Most talented....interesting choice of words. Sounds like you have a problem with Eric. Buck kicked Albert out. Eric is the backbone. Remember that. TTMN
They have a very interesting thing going on between the guitarists. Its like a crazy tension that is great, I love when buck hits that chord at 00:58. The lights hit just for a second, I cant quit watching this video!
OMG!!! I saw this tour. It was my first concert, my favorite band and we had front row seats in front of Joe. Eric handed me a pick during Reaper and a few seconds later I caught one from Joe. I still have both. I've seen them around 17 times and I love them. Buck is one the most under-appreciated guitarists ever. This is such a great tune.
I saw BOC 1980 Portland, Me. Right after the warm up band left....all I can say is Mari-fuckin-juana! By the time BOC came out, the whole coliseum was in a fog of smoke. They sounded so damn good. Man, it was one of the trippiest concerts I ever saw! Lasers and all. Cultasaurus Erectus, Specters, Agents.... STONED.....Whoooaaaaaaa......I'll never forget it!
Yes! My kids were just playing this on GH3 and I walked in the room and said that. Then I had to explain that's how they were introduced back in the 70's when I saw them.
I'm 22 years old and I grew up listening to classic rock, my dad has been to 3 BOC concerts back in the day and I just went with him to one of their concerts last week in NY! I only wish I could have seen all the good bands back then...especially after watching these old videos!!!
I first saw BOC at the Paramount Northwest in Seattle on July 5, 1975. Saw them most recently at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma this past Saturday night...my seventh time seeing them. GREAT live act!
If anyone out there is my age..45, have you tried explaining to your teenage son that these guys were the shit back then. Thank god for these old videos !!! Buck Dharma Rules!!
It used to boggle my mind that so many people listened to so called popular music I E : michael Jackson,Phil collins Mariah Cary etc.But after viewing the numbers of how many people have viewew these BOC videos and so many other rock Gods from the 70's like Nazarath,UFO, Ramones, X,Jason and the Scorchers,I'm now beginning to understand their sheep mentality. For all out there who upload these fantastic old videos.Thank You...
these guys had it all; they were ironic, intelligent (well, for a rock`n`roll band, anyway, wink!) - plus they friggin` rocked! this is music made for eternity; the genetically mutated gonzoids of the future will look at this stuff with the single eye on their foreheads and still try to figure out what made BÖC the phenomenon they were.
