Thank you, had no clue. I was told that it was named after a Indian bowel movement. After finding out what it is, im sticking with what I was first told
i swear i had a dream about this place before, and the weird thing is..i have never been to this place in my life!!!! i actually discovered this place on a site long after i had the dream (found it on the weird usa site)..in my dream i was in that little stone looking fort on the lake at .49
The song zzyzx rd. is more or less a statement about how most roads in life lead nowhere, when you expect something, you get something different. Personally, I thought a nuclear testing facility would be at the end of Zzyzx rd. But its a Desert center.
i spent the night there with my girlfriend at the time. we were there from cal state long beach on a geology trip. its really a cool place if you like serenity.
Thanks for the video. I visited the Zzyzx area last week. I almost expected the ghost of Curtis Springer to come jumping out at me as I cruised down the "Boulevard of Dreams".
9) We are indeed open to public visitation during daylight hours. Please park in the upper public parking area. You can then walk where you want - you'll see more that way and bother us less. Okay - thats it - see you there!
Sorry you feel that way. What, exactly are you about that is helpful, enlightening, or productive. Also, proper English language is preferred when replying to my comments. BTW, what is wrong about clearing up misinformation on the web? 'Splain dat to me' tras3000 (really clever username). At least you know where to find me.
8) lots of different research goes on here - from archaeology to zoology - the fish thing is just one project. On a busy day we'll can have 80+ students, faculty and researchers and other guests here from all over the world
6) Zzyzx Mineral Springs resort lasted from 1944-74 - no resort here in the 1920s. 7) It is in Mojave National Preserve, not the "Mohave Desert Preserve" (only Arizona uses the "h" in Mojave - cause they're weird).
4) its weird to see a YouTube video of someone coming down your driveway of over 20 years. 5) the birds are not ducks nor grebes - they're Coots (different family altogether) . . . more
Okay - here we go. 1) Probably only Stone Sour knows why they used our road's name for the song - the worrd Zzyzx has been borrowed a lot - usually to attract attention. more . . .
i think it's about being on the road all time and never bein able to stay in one place and when he see's the zzyzx road sign it remind's him that he's almost home so that inspired him to name the song after it cuz the song talkes about him wanting to go home, but don't quote me cuz i'm not sure
Springer(The guy who started the health spring) named it Zzyzx because it would be last in the phonebooks, directories, etc.

Stil I dont understand this weird name and dont know why stone sour called their song like that. Can someone help?

The guy who founded the city wanted to name it after the last word in the dictionary and apparently Zzyzx is it. A zyzzx is a species of sand wasp.

I see, thank you.
