@MadDoctor04 there isn't much point to buying a console drummania kit because the experience is limited and the equipment is flimsy. your best bet is to buy a cheap electronic drum set with a midi output with 2 pedals, one for hat control. i use a roland hd-1 myself, it's amazing for beginners and a second hand set should set you back about $200, or about the same price as getting rockband with all equipment.

I tried playing DTXMania and setting back up my DTXplorer and I noticed some serious latency/lag issues with the drums so it's basically impossible to do fast notes or 8th or 16th. What did you to minimize (if not totally eliminate) lag?

@shinju1021 depending on the song, there are massive lag issues: since the creators of these simfiles were all working on different soundcards/monitors, what seems on time to one creator might be offtime for another.

the easiest way to fix this is to press page down/page up while the song's playing, and it should make the notes jump in increments of 10ms back or forth, and then upon exiting the song these settings should save.

@zim090909 pretty much. i've been playing rhythm games at this point for over 10 years, around 160+ rhythm games total, so all those little bits and pieces here and there of playing all add up exponentially, etc.

although i'll definitely admit when i first got REALLY into rhythm games, around 2000 on DDR, i did play something like 8 hours a day multiple days a week, but then again i was like 14, what else did i have to do besides school and that? lol

The advantage of a 2D scrolling is that you can read rhythms a lot easier than a tilted 3D because the distances are always the same size. Given Drummania's smaller timing window and often off-beat and confusing rhythms, anything that messes with your reading of the notes will fail you out very fast -- and the lifebar is pretty punishing.

And with Drummania, you can modify the scroll rate while selecting songs to whatever is most comfortable.

well the ease of 2D or 3D just comes down to what your used to. i prefer the fact that in 3d its slow in the distance and speeds up close to you. my attention gets drawn away sometimes from 2d rhythm games. and most 3d games now let you adjust the scroll speed (hyperspeed, breakneck speed) but like i said, there's plenty of room for several games so that there is something for everyone!

I looked through the comments (most of them) to see if this had been mentioned, and it hasn't.

The "miracle version" of Model FT2 (this video) is actually a 98 on Drummania V4, and a 99 on V3, for the Extreme drums chart. The original Model FT2 is the one that's a 95 for Extreme drums.

Btw, you're a heck of a good player. It's really significant enough that you actually cleared the song, no matter what grade you got.

I can't read the damn thing. The bass pedal notes are WAY to hard to be seen and the 2D mode makes it MUCH harder than a 3D version..It would be much easier with the bass pedal notes like gh/rb and in 3D..
