@Ebb1993isgreat Actually what I thought was, that it looks too much like the Space Battle in The Green Slime (1968, starring Oscar-nominated (I think) Robert Horton, and minor bond girl Luciana Paluzzi [appeared in Thunderball as Fiona])...
@Ebb1993isgreat ...and the space station exploding in *flames* too... that's taken literally from The Green Slime also. See the Green Slime Trailer to get an idea.
I'll make a third on defending Lois Chiles a bit. Sure, dumb script, but not even anywhere near the dumbness of Stacy Sutton... I guess, because Chiles didn't get upstaged by Grace Jones at any point :)
But you raised some good points. Drax, while quote sinister endquote, is actually a Stick as they used to say, which is a gross contradiction of the saying that the Devil has the best tunes. Yes, Christopher Walken as Drax (with a bit of rewriting) might have improved this flick a goodly bit.
@UpSky2 Christopher Walken as just about anybody would usually be an improvement! And that's a fair point regarding Chiles, I just have a hard time seeing her as a "Bond girl". Tanya Roberts, although one of the worst Bond girls, at least looked the part. Thanks for the feedback!
@BMovieRollOut Excellent review of undoubtedly one of the lamest Bond movies!! Are you planning to review any more weaker Bond films such as The Man With The Golden Gun, Octopussy, or The Living Daylights?
@garethwills1980 Oh geez, I'm afraid we disagree a bit here. I like Octopussy and the Living Daylights (and Live and Let Die) quite a bit. The Man with a Golden Gun is one of my least favorites, but I think I've said my piece on Roger Moore. If I do a Bond film next season, I feel I should tackle something like Diamonds are Forever or On Her Majesty's Secret Service (or perhaps a defense of Timothy Dalton). But we'll see, I guess!
I really enjoy your reviews, but after hearing your unfavorable opinions of both Melody Anderson & Lois Chiles, I have a question. Isn't it possible that late 70's era brunettes, who try to ride on Star Wars coattails, just turn you? Even if Moonraker was a rushed & unnecessary cheesefest, why take that out on Lois Chiles, Do you really consider her unattractive? Besides wasn't For Your Eyes Only simply an obvious attempt to ride the coattails of the Winter Olympics anyway? I'm still a fan. :)
@briang9581 Actually, you're right, but I should probably elaborate. I found the character of Dale to be incredibly annoying - that's part bad writing, part bad acting. Also, given that Flash Gordon was a flamboyant space epic, I expected the female lead to be more exciting, and less plain-Jane. When it comes to Lois Chiles, frankly, I just found her to be boring, as both a character and actress. Unattractive? I don't know. She reminds me more of someone's aunt, not a "Bond girl".
@briang9581 Either way, I probably shouldn't take that out on the actress. It was poorly worded on my part -- I had to cut a lot for time. And regarding "For Your Eyes Only", yeah -- another ride on the coattails, but at least that one was done right -- it's one of my favorites! Thanks for the feedback! Comments like this really do help the writing process!
@miapatagonia Thanks very much! The rest of Season 2 should be out a little more timely, and I'm currently planning Season 3! 2012 should be very busy for me!

Can't help but think the space battle between NASA and Drax's troops looks like something out of Mobile Suit Gundam...
