I have played sports all my life, and I understand the speed of the game. The ref has been watching the game at that speed all day and should have been able to avoid it. That referee knew exactly what he was doing, stepped directly into the player. I think it's an absolute joke that any stands up for him and says that he was protecting himself. You can see where his head is aimed and you can see that he takes a few steps into that direction. He was not protecting himself it was intentional

I think the craziest thing about this is that the ref didn't get fired if I heard correctly. I think they called it on his side because Alabama switched up plays or something like that.
