  • Opps this is not carlos? was looking for that, nevermind

  • Might get less negative comments if you put (1968) at the end of the title. Most negative comments probably dont know it was the first use of synths in its infancy. I too would say its bad if i didnt know the year, but i do know the year, so actually its good and interesting.

  • I love this piece, both in original and performed on your korg :P I especially like the bass sequence. It really fits nicely :P

  • PS: I thought that the graphics were cool, too :)

  • As a synthpop realization of Bach's work, I thought this was very good and fun. A lot of "purists" here don't seem able to accept it, though :(

  • Drummelskrud. I was about to click like because I liked the tones you were using, but the blatant wrong notes at 13s and again at 22s has me now not even listening to the rest of the song... c'mon man... not a hard song to get right.

  • Utter shite

  • I must dis-agree, I thought it was a pleasant and contemporary take on Bach's piece.

  • The video is quite good. Your realization of Wachet Auf, is about the worst I've heard and certainly doesn't merit comparison to w Carlos's.

  • Tacky. Poorly done.

  • Very cool.

  • Hahaha, that's what I call Wendy Carlos goes William Orbit! Well done!

  • crazy awesome

  • nice to see that J.S.B. is still in fashion after 300 years - he's a master like no other

  • Reminds me how close Kraftwerk were to the Bachmeister...If he were alive now he would be suing the Krafty ones...and Dragonforce etc....forget your career in music, study law!

  • Nice job! Reminds me of early Richard D James works) Maybe you try add some beat & bass to make it more rhythmic. Best wishes, Bach to the masses!

  • KooL. I've got a KORG WAVESTATION-EX, circa 1990. It's OLD, but it still KranKs. :]

  • This has wrong notes... :14, and :23 are supposed to be a step higher. If you check the original, it is obvious

  • I love it ... thank you for the link on your site ... I have downloaded it already ...

I can't stop listening to it ... Did you ever do a whole version of this masterpiece ... ?!

  • oomg thats my synth! i own a m500 as well

  • Hello Drummelskrudd ...

I love this song ... I listen to it every time I remember bout it ...

Is it possible you would send it to me by mail ... as good mp3 ... or wav ...

In what programm did you write it in ?!?

    greetings

    Sascha

  • @28jsg7 I didn't write it. Johann Sebastian Bach did. I just recorded it. I used some old synthesizers and a multitrack recording device.

The visuals were made by Winamp and milkdrop visualization plug in.

  • Fantastic.

  • As by the summer lake with body soiled and heavy, diving into the white cold water, this song yields me to its refreshing embrace. With breath held, my arms twirl in a dance of waves and bubbles darting through a precious rush of joy.

Please post more of this calabre.

  • Don't think Wendy Carlos will be loosing sleep over this...

  • this is honestly SO boss. I wish you would make more!

  • It sounds a like Disneyland!

  • This is awesome. Can I use this in my music assignment? It's on sawtooth waves.

  • @super7am Sure!

  • sweeeeet tune!!!! by any chance.. have you made the full version instead of just a demo?? i'd love you long time!! XD

  • It's amazing how well Bach and synthesizers go together.

  • Sounds like an accordion with a serious wedgie! Arf arf!

  • hiel

  • Check out, "Tijuana Bach", I'll bet you all like it!

  • Great..

  • This music is fun it reminds me on playing on playstation 1 :P

  • @kakbeun Funny, it reminds me of playing Lemmings

  • ugh.. Bon Jovi meets a synthesizer. Mad props to you for multi-tasking, but Jesus, even though I'm drunk this seems so over-the-top pirouetting. Yuck. Kinda like Kenny G. Think about that. Either way. Yeah, he was successful. Also vomitous. So you did good, and you did bad.

  • pinchinpynchon...... GETTING STABED IN THE EYE..... LOL!!!!

  • AWESCHAUM!

  • very cool. looked this up for a paper,

saw the song performed in jazz scat,

I like the synth version better

  • Hey What Program did u use for the Visual Effects?

  • @eddiemperor looks like milkdrop.

  • The music is cool but watching the video is like getting stabbed in the eye. Why not just use a still of the album art or a picture of Carlos?

  • Because it's not Carlos playing, it's a cover ;-)

  • @pinchinpynchon its a shame the video has such poor quality, but i think i leked it anyway!

  • GREAT !

  • Beautiful.

  • you got some bum notes in there... otherwise it sounds totally awesome :)

  • cool visuals, bad graphics

    :/

    sry

  • Wheeeeeeeeeeee... Now was it Wendy Carlos or Walter Carlos..I get confused lol ha ha.

  • Was Carlos, now Wendy. Confusion defused.

  • I like the Autobahn-ish bass in the beginning! Well... I like the whole piece :-D

  • yeah, the whole time I was thinking to myself, "auuuuu-toooo-baaaahhhn"

  • wtf does autobahn mean to you? (I am german and i only think of the street...)

  • Well, of course I think of the motorway in Germany, but the Kraftwerk song definitely comes to mind

  • holy shit this is euphoric... wish they would re-record switched on bach in this style, remasters alone aren't nearly enough

  • Thank you! Yeah that would be fun - to re-make Switched-on Bach!

  • @d3p3ch3mod3 find me a moog, i play!

  • Oh man! So kitsch, terrific. I take my hat to you. Wiggy may not have approved by Carl-Phillip would have got his freak on to this no question. lol

  • so good

  • fantastic....great job

  • AWESOME!!

  • awesome

  • What is it called?

    can someone send me it?

  • It's a well-known Bach piece. Search any P2P network for "wachet auf" and you will find it.

  • lol, I saw your mouse pointer!

    well done! Love this song.

  • I love the bass line...

  • This is awesome!

  • Wake Up Safety Dance!!!! Wake Up!

  • Muy bueno, me gustó mucho esta versión.

Esa base le queda muy bien.

    Felicitaciones por el video.

  • You should do a whole album of Bach's music in this style. I think it would be very successful.

  • I agree. This is a nice piece!

Hey Drummelskrudd HOW does your MS stay in tune?

I have one and it wavers in and out of tune quite a bit. Once again I'll say nice work.

  • Very very good! Beautiful analog and well played. Love the arp in the backgroup. Cheers!

  • this is a Cantana? but which one?

  • suprisingly the cantata of wachet auf ruft uns die stimme. number 140.

  • does the m500 have a built in arppegiater?

  • No. It has a repeat function but you have to play the notes yourself.

  • Wasnt all this done on a moog? I used to have an alblum by this guy/s. Maybe there is only one.

  • No, this is me playing everything. Maybe you have heard something similar?

  • I love it !!

  • Wonderful! I like this better than the Walter Carols version! Thanks!

  • haha that is sooo awsome

we played this song in orchestra

  • Wow, nice!

    Aleee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wendy Carlos' scores in A Clockwork Orange, and even The Shining, are better. Listen- Title Music from A Clockwork Orange, Theme from A Clockwork Orange, The Thieving Magpie, and even William Tell Overture, Carlos-style.

  • it´s ALIVE! seriously :)

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

    I want more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    tanks

  • i saw one of these an my local music store today, the only sound it was making was a bizzare air raid siren type noise

  • nice,addictive,really good

  • Amazing. Does anyone know where i could find simarler artists to this genre of music?

Its cheesy, major and sort of naffy but i just cant help but like it :)

    Thanks

  • Go to my website for more cheesy music

  • Really nice job! I just got a Korg Micro-preset and fixed it up..well I still need to make one of the switch caps and get another screw for the back panel :-). But it sounds great! Two Korg 35 filters in there. I'm going to do a feature on it and the Sigma side by side soon since the Sigma is kind of the more advanced 1979 development of the general concept.

  • well, its an opinion, you may like it or not. For me I like this kind of music, but couldnt hear it quite long...

  • Amazing. How one can live in a world of unique beauty and have nothing but ugliness to say. I guess that's what makes you so cool and rebellious though, huh? Stay golden.

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i ll byu this synth!

  • a kik inder nutz

  • :( this is one of my favorite songs of all time, I mean... it was okay... but why? Those constant crazy beats make me sad for some reason.

  • test

  • Great job!

  • herre min je va fint! det snyggaste jag hart sen barndomen! vart kan man få lyssna på hela!?

  • although i normal view any alterations of bach's music a crime on par with genocide, this is actually pretty cool

  • get with the times, man :P

Jazzed up/synthetized/guitared Bach is the bee's knees nowadays.

  • I really like this! :-) Great job!

  • heja, funny theme ;-) i have two m500. great bass. the 900ps has deeper basse . other filters . and it is biggger
