  • RIP John

  • johnny cash is the king bloody legend!!!

  • Man, Cash is one of a kind and if you don't dig him, you don't dig nothin'.

  • all good

  • ive been singing his songs since i was three i love him best country singer!!!!!!

  • the guitar is a fender newporter. i've only ever seen 2. my father (cal ford)) and my brother (ian cal ford) have both had, and got one respectively.

  • @robb1e1978 I thought it was a Catalina, but now I need to go googling. I have been lucky enough to own two cali. series and I adore them all.

  • @AnoziraNoscut i'm pretty sure it's a newporter although now you say that i doubt i'd stake my life on it! if the newporter only ever came in one color i'd say your right.

  • There's no microphone in front of him here. How is the sound quality so good? Just sayin.

  • @shanadewar : You can see the microphone in front of him at 2:16

  • what's the name of the second song he is playing??

  • @tytytytytytytyuyiu Sing It Pretty Sue

  • @Carters01 thank you so much!! it's amazing isn't it??

  • Great songs, this guy was un replacable when he passed.

  • What a chariymatic person

  • these guitars can be bought these days its similar to a... fender sonoran

  • What kind of a guitar is that there?

Looks like an acoustic with a Fender neck and head.

  • Fender made some sweet accoustics back in the day. But Gibson was such a popular accoustic I think they quit trying to compete. It's a shame they were sweet looking axe's and sounded great. I have a 12 string fender accoustic. It's about 25 years old now I think. It's pretty common looking. But I haven't seen any around like Cash's in years and years.

  • I knew that they made acoustics, but I had always assumed that they had a (for lack of a better term) generic acoustic head (like a Martin, Gibson, Takamine, et cetera), not the traditional strat-like head.

  • Those "Strat" heads are hard to come by these days. They are sharp looking. If I ever see any I'll leave you a message where. Maybe if your far from the area you could write or call the company and get info on how to have it shipped. I'll keep my eyes open.

  • That's right. Fender makes some of their acoustic guitars with a similar neck to a strat/tele!

  • The Joe Callicott version has longer lyrics than most. Callicott is a good guitarist too...

  • Its good

  • i think the best version of this song is of johnny cash

  • the song was first written in 1904 and all of the songs have the same story line but there aren't any right lyrics that's what makes the song so great. everyone sings it differently.

  • @mwl3175: That's the story of all country, southern blues, jazz songs. It's the way it's always been done... Take a stroll down in the French Quarter or on Bourbon St in New Orleans & you'll hear some of the best musicians, undiscovered, but still some of the best.. also changing the lyrics of old songs.. the young groups don't understand they are really recycling & putting their personal spin on what's already been done.

  • Great Song, I love Johnny Cash!

  • Yah, he is a very good guitar player and singer!!

  • This is great, but my favorite is the Mae West version.

  • Absolutely amazing - Johnny on top form!

    JCRS

  • Had to hear this again;its a really super track;still not sure about message on 2nd song....hes the best..

  • HY Johnny;boy;you are so good;love this....the backing is perfection;as always.....LOVE YOU

This could be his first wife singing the 2nd part.....weird/a boy named Sue? lots of clues here...

  • uhoh, he skipped verse 3 of 7. Kind of messes up the story line.

  • This is an old folk song over 100 years old. People tend to change the lyrics around to suit themselves.

  • johnny like elvis....is a 1 of a kind

there will never another like them

    they were the teachers!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome

  • No kidding!!!!

  • i love johnny cash and i like this song may he r.i.p.
