Pft, go check out some black and white Mickey cartoons like "Shanghaied" and the older Mickey Mouse comics by Floyd Gottfredson. Epic Mickey drew inspiration from those sources BECAUSE he was so heroic in them. Warren Spector and Testuya Nomura didn't just pull heroic Mickey out of a hat, you know. ;)

I'll be honest, the title made me expect a very different scenario. Instead of a booby-trapped staircase, I would have loved to see how Mickey acts in a "climbing a zillion flights of stairs and running out of steam" montage. For example: "I'll save ya, Minnie! *huff huff* Help is on the way! *huff* Still on the way...*huff* Oh dear God..."
