@hopland1165 Dispatch plans everything, but they send it to you for you to double check. They don't take into consideration sometimes, some of the key factors in planning, drops/hooks/pti/scaling/ hills/speed controls/weather and so on… so its best to look everything over to let them know if you can pull it off.. once you say yes, your not responsible to get it done :)
your videos are seriously the most helpful videos on youtube. im starting with swift soon and i cant tell you how much less stressed out i am about it after watching all your vids. thanks so much man.
@holycumulus thats a great comment to read, I appreciate the compliment. Good luck on your journey with Swift... just remember to keep cool and be safe, ask lots of questions, keep good communication and if you ever wanna holler at me, you know where to find me :) Good luck and I'll hopefully see you out there :)
@holycumulus Which school are you going to if you don't mind me asking??? I just recently graduated from swifts training acadamy on the 5th of this month from the terminal in phoenix AZ....
You mentioned you don't let your truck idle. When I talked to a swift recruiter I was told swift didn't have idle restriction on their trucks. Does it have to do with your safety bonus or something. My brother was telling me a lot of truck stops along with some states and or citys have a no idle law but, don't enforce them in peek winter or sumer months.
@Lowcountrytrucker yeah re: the idle .. Swift has a idle shutdown on the trucks that shut down (at least for mine) around the 4 min mark when the truck is in park. You can cancel the shutdown and let the idle run all night if you choose, but Swift does reviews on your driving and they tell you where you can improve and idling is one of the categories. There are lots of places that say you cant idle. Shippers and Receivers are a lot of them. Swift understands during different seasons...(cont)
@yourboyethetrucker the itertrip idle i think is just standard in just about every new truck today, i dont think swift has anything to do with that. they do want us to idle less to save money on fuel, but when your in ohio with 90 degree temps and this freakin humidity its real hard not to idle. i idled for 4 days straight and my A/C felt like it was blowing warm air but it was blowing 60 degrees out the vents lol
thanks for keepin it newbie, that's what i'm talkin about, if you continue to build it right , they will come! i just was lookin at "3rd eye safey" you have to check this out! it's on you tube loaded by" watch my truck"james wilson company 443 july14 1211 type that in and be amazed at how the 3rd eye rolls. i sat and watched for an hour! keep it safe! god bless!!
thanks E u understood my point, now on this page it's macro this and macro that,if i wanted to know about paper work that truckers have to do and i did'nt know the word "macrowork"is talking about your paper work! and i didn't know any drivers i would be lost , that is gona put u ahead of the other guys " that try to explain things" and the only people who understand are people who already know anyway what it is. thanks again for keepin it newbie!!
Between you and Journey95, you guys explain pretty much everything about what's going on behind the scenes for us n00bs. I'm leaving for a private school in a few weeks and hope to be on the road soon - I would be more than happy to meet up one day and buy grub for you, most people have no idea how much these types of videos are appreciated for folks who are thinking about committing to the trucker life. Thanks E!
@Stoopid512 that's cool, I actually like Journey95's videos too.. they are well put together. One day I will try and make mine as good as his haha but till then I just wanna be as helpful and informative as possible :) thx for commenting and watching :) - E
