Thatcher actually stood up to the Americans when she wasn't happy with them, whereas Blair was weak, and simply brown-nosed Bush. Thatcher won the Falklands because she chucked all the required resources as it, but Blair did the complete opposite with Iraq (not that the population supported that war anyway).
