I would have to rate Erin as the best drummer by far these days. Bloc Party's, Arctic Monkeys', The Fall of Troy's, and The Mars Volta's drummers are close; but Erin takes the cake. He is so nasty on those drums. I got the chance to see them live last year. Erin, along with the rest of MTB of course, did not cease to amaze my wife and I. That experience was almost better than sex.

@brcu1987 Ah, Come on. The AM and TMV are great bands too, Dude. Well, in their early career. I ain't gonna lie, lately they've been slackin' a bit. But if u wanna hear them at their best (in my opinion), check out The Arctic Monkeys- Favourite Worst Nightmare album and The Mars Volta- De-loused in the Comatorium album. Not having listened to those albums would be a travesty. And you're right though, The Mars Volta is a totally different category. But all three bands have some wicked drummers.

@DaRocker21 i think you misunderstood me. The mars volta is by far the better of these three. Minus can jam and do the "prog" thing but nowhere near the level of Omar's genius. And the Arctic Monkeys are well...Ill be nice and say it would be unfair to compare them.

@brcu1987 I see what you mean. I had a feeling that was what you meant too. I was just in the "jam" mentality when thinking of Minus The Bear. But when it all boils down to it, I must agree with you. The Mars Volta is ultimately the best of the three bands. They're more artistic, more innovative in style, and can "get down" even more. They can get down much longer also. Much apologies for insinuating your unfamiliarity of The Mars Volta. ...The Arctic Monkeys as well.
