I'm definitely voting for Obama "80% of Americans would opt into such a program"is misleading. Probably 80% of 80% would like to see such a program, but would select to opt out of having their paychecks truncated in favor of retirement plans. Essentially, this opens up a monopoly of money management by the government-- which may or may not be a good idea. The problem arises if you get a future president like GWB who notices all that money in the program and decides to spend it for the short run.
dammit, why won't they let him wear a tie? what's wrong with having a well dressed guy running for president anyway? we american voters can be funny sometimes...
Obama we need you, its very important that we give the world what they want and they wante obama more than anything, all around the world Obama is the choice, and with Obama the world will stand by America and will support America as the world power.

GO Obama-I've been waiting to Vote and I'm so glad that a different race is running and a women but I want Obama. I've lived in Portland, OR my whole life and I'm ready for a change and I believe in Obama that he will do great things.
this is crazy i was outside the building this speech took place yesterday and i saw him waving at me form his bus when he left. there were barely any people thre as it was not publicized. Tons of police. It was awesome. I also saw some really famous national reporters
I never understood how other politicians said that he's not specific.. he comes off as very specific to me.. if not very detailed in his explanations policies.
after a life of being 'conservative' the ONLY thing I've seen in the last 20 some years out of the office of the presidency is ..."Yes I Can...Yes I can..." Whenever I hear the chants of Senator Obama's crowd...I hear "Yes WE can!" Needless to say...I like what I am hearing! OBAMA '08!
Out of all that are running for this nation's top job in '08,this one makes the best sense. We have been pumping so much money into Iraq that our country and it's retiree's are feeling the squeeze along with the working class and the only one's getting rich in all this is the war profiteer's and the oil companies, good luck in '08 Obama.
What impresses me more than anything else about Obama is how comfortable he is in himself. He has a simple, unassuming dignity allied to a sharp mind & a hard focus. He's also got a quiet semse of humour.
He appears naturally calm, a real asset under pressure. 18 months on a relentless campaign & he seldom, if ever, looks stressed. He even thinks on his feet when speaking. Like JFK.
America don't slip up, please! The world is counting on you. Please put him in office!
"Administradoras de Fondos de Pensiones", in spanish. The illusion of that plan is what is inspiring Bush now. Now the Chileans will have crappy retirement plans, our elder people don't have food to bring to their homes, but the economy was saved, they say. Please, Americans. Don't support initiatives like those. Don't support a proposal that was forced on us with guns, in a dictatorship. Like Saddam Hussein's. Like Burma's.
When Milton Friedman came to Chile, in 1974, he said that the world could accept easily a dictatorship, like Pinochet's, if economic freedoms were maintained. Later, Pinochet, with Friedman's counseling and with the help of economists from the University of Chicago, imposed on us a 100% private retirement system, forcing us, Chileans, to deposit all of our retirement savings into accounts managed by insurance companies, through enteprises called "Retirement Fund Managers",
Change is something we can believe in, a phrase indented into my mind because i know for a fact that Obama will be here for me, you and all of us as President of the United States. I'm only 13 but i wish my words will reach out to other people.
Not as dynamic a speech as we are accustomed to but the message is excellent. Canada needs a strong and stable country as a neighbour. Obama will restore sanity to Washington.
Sounds like the same old thing. Scare the old people about social securiy. I've heard this same exact scare mongering every presidential election for the last two decades.
There is no "trust fund" you idiot, no "lock box", its all in the general fund, right where the democrats want it, where they have access to it.
If you want it in a real trust fund where it would be protected from the politicians, Privatize it!
No details, eh? At some point the press will have to stop repeating the empty talking points of Obama's opponents and realize that beyond the rhetoric, there is a powerful set of policies for the country presented with the vision to achieve it.
It will be, IF we can keep the Republicans and Libertarians from killing it with their crackpot scams. They've been wanting to destroy it ever since FDR came up with the idea.

Hmm the choices...
McCain - Another Bush and another 4 years of a failing economy.
Clinton - A liar and member of the upper class, who tries to make it look like she is working class...haha
Obama - A proven senator, who has fought for the people in Chicago and served the state of Illinois very well. Change you can believe in.
Obama '08

HMMMM - The choices.
McCain - George Bush's 3rd term
Clinton - failed miserably against Obama so she isn't even a choice anymore.
Obama - the best possibility of real change FOR THE BETTER.

Actually, Clinton is no longer an option. She's out of the race. She just doesn't have the dignity to admit it.
