why do people quit because of watching travis? Or say they could never be as good? First of all, just because you aren't as good as someone doesn't mean it should motivate you to quit. it should push you further. apply some of the techniques he uses, experiment. Don't hinder yourself. like a shirt my drum teacher had, "how do you get into charnege hall? practice, practice, practice!" do that, and you can achieve anything... except becoming immortal... practice wont help that.

For speed i have a bit of an issue that maybe you could help me with. At faster speeds i can play at a fairly fast speed with all that ankle movement but when i do that my slower, full leg motion suffers. I feel like i have to really work hard to do a steady 120bpm double bass pattern after doing the 190+bpm ankle movements. I don't know if I should keep practicing both speeds or if i should just drop all the ankle work for the time being and just try and naturally move up the speed ladder.

@JamesSABIAN The numbers are just what Guitar pro reads it. 35 = Kick 49 and 57 = Cash 1 and Crash 2 40 = Snare 52 = China 46 = Hi-Hat 51 = Ride 55 = Splash (in this case a stack) 45 = Left Tom 43= Righ Tom I think that covers most of it, I hope this helps.
