  • this was over a year ago! pls make the tutorial :) Pleaaaase

  • When is the tutorial coming?

  • Haha splash was like "mom u have rlly bad aim mom... ID wanna play anymore!

  • The video is from 2010. When are you going to upload the tutorial?

  • Dude, make the tutorial!!!!! :)

  • I'm interested to see your tutorial as well. I'm training an invisible boundary through targeting, but so far it's not as reliable as yours.

  • when is this coming out ?? been waiting for this one ! :)_

  • wow, cant wait.

  • @kikopup Hey Emily we really need your video tutorial pls hurry up...

    Tnx

  • My backyard goes into a park - no fence. I really, really need this training! Come soon please.

  • OMG! Get the tutorial soon! My doggie almost got hit by a car at our cottage, and we NEED boundary control!!!!

  • i'm interested in the tutorial too...please do it as soon as you can...

  • What an AWESOME-trained dog! WOW!

  • HI, where is the tutorial related to this video,

please post before more dogs get knocked down and don't be so lazy in getting it done thanks.

  • Seriously. . . where's the tutorial??? I NEED IT!!! My dog runs in the street alot

  • Did she ever make the tutorial? I can't find it.

  • I'm unsure why you want this to this extent... my dog also naturally will stop at grass borders (I reenforced this at the puppy stage when he was still on a long line as we lived in an apartment complex with a parking lot I didn't want him in). I attached "stay on the grass!" to it, though at this point is isn't needed. However a complete refusal to retrieve to frisbee after command is given comes across as uneasy about surface change, which is something I'm surprised you'd want....

  • @Blitzavavideo that is conditional, and something the dog has decided is foreign and uncomfrtable, and just like humans and all other animals our minds can change. this puts the decision to not cross the "border" not in the dogs control, or the conditional length of cord, but 'i am not going to cross this line because the alpha-dog wont let me'. im sureyou have a good 'return' call, but someone that doesnt, once thier dog break that barrier itd be hard to call them back. multiple purpose this is

  • I was waiting for this tutorial for 7 months, 2 days ago my dog got hit by a car after my friend's daughter threw a tennis ball into road. I guess I can only blame myself.

  • I'm looking forward to this tutorial too. We share our back yard and I would like to let my pup out without me and not worry about him going on the other people's deck or in their house.

  • When are you going to post the tutorial video of this command? It would be SUPER useful for my dog... I'm always afraid of him wandering into the street and he makes a mess in our vegetable and flower garden! Please post the tutorial as soon as you can... Thanks! -Haley

  • Can't wait for the tutorial. Would like to be able to demonstrate to people that they don't need an electric fence horror.

  • I'll jump on the bandwagon here too Emily!!! This would be sooo very valuable a behavior to train my dogs... Tutorial video please!!!!! Thank you!!!

  • Creepy music?

  • Hi Emily,

Been waiting for the tutorial on this one for an age, would be really useful for my clients.

    pleeeeeese

  • Can't wait for the tutorial. My collie pup is 6 months old and I could really do with teaching him this. Thanks for all the others ...really really helpful as this is the 1st time I've tried clicker training..what a difference!!

  • @kikopup was this video ever made? I searched for it under invisible barriers but nothing came up..or is it named differently?

  • I really love your training videos! Here in Denmark you are a legend among me and my dog-friends. When I get into troubles with my dog, I turn to your videos, and oh my! how well everything works so fast.

I really want the tutorial for this "invisible barriers". Didn't you make it yet, or have I just missed it? Love and respect from me and my dog.

(Sorry, if there are many mistakes in my written English, as I said: I'm not from any English speaking country.

  • I need to teach this trick to my dog! I've always wanted to go to the park with no leash! I cannot wait for the tutorial!!!!

  • I can't WAIT for the tutorial! I never would've thought it to be possible - no more of those terrible "invisible" electric fences!

  • Please post the tutorial soon! I'm getting my new puppy next summer and definately want to teach this to her. Thank you for your previous "how to" videos :) Your dogs are amazing!

  • I too am looking forward to this. Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos. You rock!

  • Can you please post a tutorial on this soon? I'd really like to know how you teach your dog to do that.

  • Anxiously awaiting.......

  • ottimo lavoro emily sei bravissima

  • Amazing! And using clicker training without intimidation!

  • this is unbelievable!!! I wondered that I can train a dog to dont go anytime everywhere on the street?

  • I can't wait for this video! It would be great to teach my dog to not go into my parents room!!

  • tutorial please!!!!!

  • Hi Emily! When do you make the tutorial? I want to know how that works :)

  • Hi Emily :) Would you make a comment for this video when you do the tutorial for invisible barriers? It's amazing :). I don't know how to do that...

  • Hi Emily, that's just amazing - what beautiful and clever dogs you have. I am the proud owner of Gaia (10 months old), who would love to learn about invisible barriers. Living close to a larger road, I almost never have her running free (with that said, we do go to dog parks, and other areas for her to do that) because I'm not totally able to call her to me when there's a distraction. Just saw your video on "teaching stay" and that is our next projekt I think. Looking forward to your tutorial...

  • I'd love to see this too! Looks amazing

  • Did you do a tutorial yet? My dog so needs this!!!

  • aww I really want to see the tutorial for this. Or at least tell us how it's done. That's really impressive!

  • so where is that damn tutorial :-(((

  • Oh man! This was posted in Sept! I've been waiting! I can't wait to see it!

  • Wow that is amazing!! That's definitely the kind of training that can save dogs' lives. :)

  • please make the tutorial very fast... this is a life saving training ! thanks

  • Thats amazing! :3 With Splash trained like that you won't have much trouble with her wondering off into the street :D.

  • When is the tutorial coming?

You´re doing an amazing job! Can´t wait for more training tips!

  • Emily, this is fascinating! I have racked my brain about this and can't imagine how you did this. Add me to the list of people who can't wait for this tutorial. Also, I totally agree with another commenter suggested you accept Paypal for donations (would be a good idea for your friend Pam as well). I learn so much from your (and Pam's) videos -- would love to donate to support the cause :-)

  • I can't wait to see it either! Great idea!

  • omg !!! i can't wait for the tutorial ... this is the number one thing i need to teach my dog !!! please come out with the tutorial soon !! ;]

  • When this going to be uploaded?

  • cant wait to see the tutorial. Please upload it as fast as you can ;]

  • It's a little bit like Blair-Witch-Project with your breathing ^^

Let me guess, it's a little bit like STAY .. don't cross the line .. a nogo-zone .. do you know to lunge as dogsport? You're in the middle of a circle and the dog hast to stay outside and do as you say..

I would go on the sidewalk and let my dog heel, then go further away and reward staying at the grass, later working with easy objects (not the most loved toy ^^) lay them on the street, then throw them ... click for not leaving ;)

  • will the dog cross the barrier if you want them to?

  • That's incredible!

  • I'm looking forward to the tutorial here too. I live on a busy street and will have a new puppy soon. This has the potential to save a life.

  • i think i might have an idea on how you trained splash. Im thinking you showed her what you WANTED from her first (with clicker ofcourse) and ignored them when they didnt like in all your other vids. I cant wait to see the toturial to be sure. We really appretiate you sharing your awsomeness :). P.S I'm a 14 year old girl im using my brother's account :3

  • Good girl Splash! Loved watching her halt at the curb!

  • Please give us the tutorial soon! That was a great video :) This is one of the tricks that I think would be so important to teach every dog to master. It would be great to have a dog that stays in the garden reliably. How do you know how and from which part of the behavioural chain to start training these kind of behaviours? Thank you!

  • how did you do this? You are genius! I can't wait see the tutorial! And great job!

  • I need this tutorial for my Shepherd!! CANT wait!!

  • I wouldnt want to train my dog to run in the streets xD

  • Waiting with bated breath for this tutorial!!!

  • Puh-leeeeease hurry with the tutorial, this is wonderful. In fact, Emily, I know you could use the money so I'd like to suggest you open a paypal account, and invite folks who want the tutorial to buy it from you for what we'd pay for a Starbucks coffee, about $3.00. You can email it to them once they've paid you. You've given so much of your expertise for free, you absolutely deserve to be compensated so sometimes you should charge. We adore you and want you to be sustained in this work.

  • Oooooook. You, this, everything it's SO amazing. :D

  • Awesome..So hurry with the training video *laugh*..Can't wait as you can see!

  • You are so creative! Can't wait to see the tutorial. You have (and are) a gift. :-D

  • wow.

I can't wait for the tutorial. When I was a kid we lost a dog to a squirrel and a car. This would have saved her.

  • Wow this is amazing!! I need to teach my Chihuahua this, she has a thing for running out the door and across the street to the fire hydrant D:

  • OMG!! This was AMAZING! I can't wait to watch the tutorial : )

  • WOW! WOW! WOW!

  • wow! i can't wait the tutorial!!!

  • This is AWESOME! I would love this tutorial!!

Neither Mi or Q will leave the yard (even with the gate wide open) without me but I am oblivious as to how I trained that. Mi won't even leave with all the doors open and me leaving if I say, "Oh Mi you have to stay here". Again, DON"T know how I trained it, so can't communicate it to others. Once again, Emily to the rescue!

  • Thats awesome, would it work for stepping off a concrete pavement onto a concrete road?

  • This looks great! I need a way to 'undo' an invisible barrier! My chihuahua used to run up and down the stairs with no problem. Went through a time with a bad need (patellar luxation). His knee and activities are back to normal now except for the stairs... he goes down but will NOT go up unless I am behind him and giving occasional treats.

  • I need this tutorial ASAP, my puppy has been going in the road sometimes and its really scary. I don't know to stop her.

  • wow can't wait!!!

  • Oooo....I want to see this tutorial!!!
