  • Thumbs up for me cause u love guitar (ya thatll do) hahah

  • @LaggingKills damn, guess it wasnt my day!

  • no top comment? well if you insist!

  • @wedontknowone1 Nope, still no top comment.

  • why does the combo sound so canny and muddy while the head and cab (@ 1:00) sounds so much tighter and clearer. Is it the speakers on the cabinet that makes the difference?

  • @superbolli it might be the different speaker or the microphone placement, i think is the speakers

  • your not ANDY JAMES!

  • Should i buy the ht-5 combo or Line 6 Pod HD bean?

  • Hey would the combo be suitable for small/medium size gigs?

  • @colourshardcore No man it's 5 watt :P

  • @ravenshield56 I really like black star amps. Would love u to listen to my music/guitar sound and see if u could tell me which blackstar amp i should choose for medium size gigging? cheer bro

  • @colourshardcore for small/med gigs I would check out the HT studio 20, ot the Club 40!

  • can i connect the ht5 with a 2x12 8 ohm cab?

  • I can tell this guy doesn't like/not used to Les pauls.

  • too much blackstar labels on the vid.

  • that that the ht5-r?

  • It's really nice to hear this wide range of sounds! Most Blackstar demos I've found seem to be for metal (which I have no problems with, as a metal player myself), but it's always nice to know that an amp is not only great but versatile.

  • I need advice - I know next to nothing about amps, only got into electrics really recently... I want to play styles from blues, through Gn'R, to Lamb of God. I was looking at various combo amps but then it occurred to me that maybe I should buy one cabinet and plug different heads in? I was hoping there might be a one-size-fits-all cabinet but it looks like I was wrong on my thinking! Would I be better off buying combos instead? Thanks.

  • my experience with blackstar is that the sound is fantastic for blues, but if you want a heavy metal sound, go for diezel, engl or mesa boogie.

  • Great playing. By the way, you were great in "Shaun of the Dead"

  • guys make a vid with the ht5 head and setting have to be treble 9 bass 3.5 middle from 3 to 4.5 and gain all the way up now the amp sounds like all the metalheads want and stop playing fucking blues and funk play metal thats what everyone wants

  • hi guys, im thinking of buying this to replace my marshall MG15 as my first proper valve amp. is this louder than the MG?

  • I love my HT-5! Blackstar amps all the way for me from now on! you guys won my support!

  • the sound in my head is so big now my mind poped up sorry guys i'm high

  • I'm not sure what to get....I have a Peavey Vypyr at the moment, eugh, and i've gotta choose out of the Line 6 pod x3, or one of these....I have no idea, any help? It's for bedroom practice and youtube stuff with a friend, maybe some jamming with a band every now and again.

  • How loud does this get? Will it be loud enough for a bandpractice with drums, and small gigs without micing?

  • I have some 2x12 speaker cabinets, could I use one of these with this amp?

  • steve cradock of ocean colour scene brought me here

  • Can you put the a cable from the speaker emulated output/headphones to a mic input of my recording device? Like i could from a line out from ss amp?

  • Can you put the a cable from the speaker emulated output/headphones to a mic input of my recording device? Like i could from a line out from ss amp?

  • Can you put the a cable from the speaker emulated output/headphones to a mic input of my recording device? Like i could from a line out from ss amp?

  • Does the Blackstar Ht-5 Heads come with a free footswitch?

  • @Uhmsters

    Yes they do.

  • How much of a difference does the 12" speaker on the HT5R? This one only has a 10"

  • Does anyone know what is the third piece, what is he playing?

  • will i notice a difference in quality when recording via an sm57 between this and my marshall 50dfx?? sounds proper shite at the moment!!!

  • Is 5 watts too loud for a bedroom/recording amp? Would I need an attenuator?

  • @minedarea I have a combo and at the minimum it's pretty quiet, and ok for use in an apartment. But you'll be cranking it up more than you should, trust me. I know I do, and will keep doing it until a neighbour comes complaining. Hasn't happened yet, fingers crossed it won't!

  • @minedarea

No. It's perfect for bedroom and recording.

  • help me i dont know witch one to but this(the combo) or a peavey bandit 112? please respond

  • @iGuessiLikeIt This. I would rather compare it to a peavey classic.

  • @DenKulesteSomFins OK but just another question. How often do you have to change the tube? I've never had i tubeamp before so i dont know.

  • @iGuessiLikeIt I don't have a tube amp, but some last really long(10 years), and some last a few hours. But most will last over a year

  • It looks like a very nice amp!! But I have a question! Will it do fine for band reharsal? I mean, is it possible to play along with an accoustic drum?

  • do u guys sell in Canada?

  • How does the sound compare between say a 2x12 cab vs the 4x12? does it definitely sound better through a 4x12? Can I still use a 4x12 in my small practice room?

  • Will it do the blackstar 408 cab?

  • hi alan,..is that you from the "nimmo brothers".I saw you on The Antwerp bluesfestival in the '90's.Fantastic performance!!!!! Also 'hoax" was on that show,...what a time man!

    grtz.Marc

  • I believe i am going to buy this

  • Okay, this amp head is awesome, but why does youtube always have to make me feel bad about my playing?

  • vid says celestion speaker internet page says blackstar speaker but what s right?? great amp though :)

  • Is ithe HT-5 Head loud enough to us live with a 412 cabinet?

  • This is one of the best practice, recording, low volume amps on the market.

  • the HT-5 combo IS the ultimate practice amp !

  • Can you tell if it is possible to use the treble, middle and bass control in the clean channeL???

    NIce video !!

  • When is the HT-5H with reverb going to be released in the US other than in the mini-stack form?

wanting just the head format SO much, right now.

  • Thanks for throwing that Skynyrd in there, bud.

  • is it a tube amp?

how much power does it have????

  • Can you get a nice vintage tube crunch on the clean channel when you crank the crap out of it?

  • HT-5 REVERB is here. Gonna buy this very soon.

  • Holy shit... On The Hunt is such a great song a random guy played it in an amp demo.

  • i want one but i've never seen one here in Mexico :(

  • The headphones dont cut the power to the speakers both are going headphones and cabinet PLEASE HELP!

  • setting the volume at more than half way it's way too loud for my living room....

  • Question: given the HT5's Celestian speaker is rated for 40 watts does that mean you can max out the settings without worrying about frying the little bugger?

  • Great little combo for the price. I just got mine a few days ago and I'm totally digging it.

  • What song 0:55?

  • will this thing power a 4X12 cabinet?

  • @medude6652 The HT-5H is used to power the 4x12 at 0:58, although I should mention any amp rom the HT-5 range will power a 4x12. Even the new HT-1 sounds great through a 4x12!

  • @Blackstaramps I don't know if I understand... Let me ask this: Can the HT-5 combo work in conjunction with a cab to increase volume? Or will that simply shut off the internal speaker and you get the same volume from an external speaker?

  • @doublepennies If you look on the back of your HT-5, there will be 3 speaker outputs noted as '1x16 ohms' and '1x8ohms or 2x16ohms'

If you are using an extension cabinet, move the internal speaker from the 1x16ohm into one of the 2x16ohm speaker outputs and plug a 16ohm extension cabinet into the other 2x16 ohm speaker output.

Sorry if this seems unclear- an instructional video is in the pipeline. It is much simpler than I've made it sound!

If you get a chance, try it through a 4x12" Cabinet!

  • @doublepennies why do you want to increase volume?? just mic it and send it through the PA. the beauty of these amps is that you dont have to rape your ears to get a good sound

  • Love this little power house. Just recorded an EP and all the guitars were recorded with this amp:-)

  • anyone know the dimensions of the HT5 head?

  • Is the Blackstar HT-5 combo big enough for little gigs? :)

  • @Rogiercover depends how little. If your drummer isn't very loud you should be okay by mic'ing it. You can also run it into the board or a 4x12 and mic that.

  • @Szalik4991 I had EMG's in my old LP. They sounded shrill and tinny through the HT5. Use passives, you're better off that way.

  • I love my HT5. Money well spent!

  • 1:14 to 1:30 OMFG THAT SOUNDS AMAZING

  • Not my cup of tea, but a really good demo. :)

  • what song is @ 1:51???

    please any1

  • @EMGlespaulMESA on the hunt by lynyrd skynyrd

  • Does this amp have its own reverb?

  • @grapeseedfruit nope, unfortunately not. only real downside to it

still a great that ive been using for about 6 months now :)

  • If combined with an 4*12 Cabinet, is the Blackstar HT5 loud enough for smaller gigs like clubs?

  • @Stairwaydude Try a HT-20, you'll be more content with the tone at those volume levels. The HT-5 will most likely fall a bit short.

  • @Stairwaydude Just started using my HT5 Head with a Marshall 4x12 cab and it sounds killer, easy loud enough for rehearsals with a band and probably even small pub/jam night gigs, but with a bigger room it wont have enough head room .. so I going to get the HT20 head for live.

  • Cool, I'm getting one this saturday. I have a 40 watt tube but need a practice amp so I don't have to crank it to three or four to sound good especially at night....Thanks,man..

  • What's the setting at 1:15 an on......

  • @kudlow39 it's the same tone as at 1:10, but it's an example of lead playing :)

  • @Blackstaramps Hello, how well does this particular amp take pedals? I have several pedals on my pedalboard but im curious as to how well this amp takes them before i buy it.

Also, very nice demonstration...this little amp seems like a steal

  • can i get high gain metal tone at bedroom volumes with the ht5 combo?

  • @racerfreed the gain isnt that good from my experiance, i would by something else

  • That guy is a good player.

  • Will the HT-5 fit in a rack?? I want to use it to live, but with a rackmount tube power amp and some effects...

  • what's the song at 1:47?

  • 0:47 what is that? Cause I have heard @RobChappers use it but I dont know whether its a song or his riff or what?

  • @deadringer13 To me it sounds a bit like the riff from Always on the Run by Lenny Kravitz

  • @GuitarAriaFreak1010

I believe it is. It's a really fun riff. I love it for some reason.

  • @deadringer13 Always on the run lenny kravitz

  • I have this amp, does wonders :)

  • I have tried to email Blackstar 5 different times and I got not one response. I am hoping their email button on their website is having problems. Anyway here are two questions I hope you can answer. 1. I have a Blackstar Stage100 head. Why does the Clean ch. only have controls for Bass & Treble, but Ch. 2 & 3 the gain ch. have controls for Bass, Mids, Treble? Question 2. What settings should I start with to get that SRV sound? I heard it before & all he used was the Clean ch. Thanks in advance.

  • @hawg427 I had the same problem with the email, phoned them in the end and had spoke to a very friendly guy and got my Blackstar questions answered.

  • sounds GREAT! May I ask how the 'ISF' is different from Marshall's 'contour' control?

  • It's sad that the ISF is stick on the american side on this demo. I got my ISF all the way up (total UK) and it sounds really different.

  • @maxlamenace987654321 The left side is the UK side the right is the US :)

  • @apessk8s88 no, I got the head and the uk is on the right for sure!

  • I have the HT5 head and use the new 1 x12 cab .. great sounding little amp.

  • it's an awesome amp great sound awesome look

    AWESOME!

  • Thanks Blackstar I will be using this video as my tone blueprint for my HT-5S from now on.

I spend more time twiddling the knobs than I do plucking the strings!

  • @TEMPA01

    That's concerning.
