possibly one of the most heart wrenching songs ever. Kirsty never really did the song justice as she was maybe too close to it.

Eddi Reader did a superb version in one of teh tribute shows for Kirsty, just her and an acoustic guitar.

This version is great, but probaly goes on for 30 or 40 seconds too long

It was a Kirsty MacColl/Mark Nevin comp. And yes, Kirsty did also record it - whether or not it was about her break up with Steve Lillywhite - as evidenced by the From Croydon To Cuba compilation. Not to detract from the sweet piety of Eddi Reader's version

I don't think Kirsty ever recorded this herself. It was a tad too 'personal', written at the time of the break-up of her marriage to Steve Lillywhite. Beautiful but very sad song.
