It's cool to have multiplayer, wonder what they're gonna do with it, but I'm sort of against it, because you can't really execute the finishing moves too much (not to mention jump assassinate if they have that, random players getting jump killed would be tedious) and rapidly slashing at each other with weapons wouldn't be too fun (remember when you were fighting guards? Lots of endless slashing until he finally stopped holding block)
There could also be cooperative modes. Such as in Tenchu Z, You work together to assassinate a common enemy found throughout the game. Of course being online with more people the NPCs would have to have more quantity and harder difficulty.
Next Assassins Creed is with Ezio Auditore, its going to be in Rome. (Perfect because Rome its so fucking huge) And it should have multiplayer mode. :) i hope mostly co-op too.

i think if they do make an online play for xbox and ps3 they should make a capture the flag...just think about it 4 on 4 assassins running around and create your own charcter it would be awsome!

Maybe make missions that would be impossible without help. Like maybe one person carrying out an assassination, while another secures an underground escape route. Once the kill is made the two try to escape through the underground passage and a chase scene begins with the only way to complete it is by getting back out to the city. I can dream though...

It would be cool if they had certain minigames for vs rather than co-op. I know I wished there was a kind of "Seek and Destroy" online match in the first game. The way I imagined it was up to 5 players (who I will refer to as team A) Team A would get a few minutes head start to get into a city. They don't have a weapons so they have to rely on running and hiding spots to protect themselves.
Then another team(Team B) would go in to "hunt" the first team in that city. Since it would be impossible to find them naturally, the hunting team could have the ability to climb a view point and ping the location of any Team A members nearby. Please give a thumbs up if you like this idea!

i think there should be online co-op, with one player being the assassin and the other being the target, and the assassin starts at one side of the map, and the target on the other, and the aim for the assassin is to kill the target, without being seen, and the targets aim is to survive and get to the exit.. the target also gets a few AI guards to protect him. the target also gets to choose his class.
games that have online play are not just for the online play, a lot more time is put into the single player mode than any online games, they do this just for people who dont like online play, so they can have a good time with just the game itself. most online games only focus on online AFTER the game has already come out, thus brings forth the game updates. sometimes there are also non-online game updates for the singe player game
i would be very sad if assassin's creed 2 was online cuz im tired of video games being about multiplayer and having crappy single player mode not everyone has xbox live or are into online gaming. but either way i rated the video 5 stars and keep up the good work!
