my opinion is that this is a great albums if you take out the singles ( american idiot, holiday, blvd of broken dreams, ect.) because those 5 songs that are singles on this album killed green day. Whatshername, we are the waiting, give me novacaine, shes a rebel, homecoming, extraordinary girl, st. jimmy are all way better songs and don't get enough credit that they reaaly desrve even though they are nothing like  songs like Brat, 86, one for the razorbacks, at the library, coming clean, ect

Sorry but the days before american idiot were a lot better musically. When they started writing meaningful lyrics the music suffered. In all of Greendays 2 newest albums the guitars are playing at maybe a grade 2 and the bass at grade one.

Mike Dirnt although never the best bassist in the world had a style of his own. It wasn't difficult but it was his. Now he plays only root notes and suddenly everyone considers it better music. If only their younger selves could see them now...
