I don't see him as bragging, but then, if you have it, it's not bragging at all. Don't discount the other band members. I have a LTD release BLUE minted 45 of "Blue Guitar" w/ John Lodge. I'll take $25K for it. Can you blame me? OK, not for sale-JW
This is so beautiful and well sung after all those years. Just amazing Justin has stayed so brilliant singing such a long time.... It also shows that this is such a strong song, only voice and acoustic guitar. The feeling remains while he is singing it in 1990. So natural...Thank you for putting it here, redbaron! Great!
I'd say 100 maybe 200 years from now, this era of music will be studied and an unimaginable myth will surround all the songs of that time. There will be scholars studying their influences and pondering how they could possibly come up with something so timeless and whimsical.
The influence LSD had on the mid 60's culture still hasn't filtered. When the dust settles, there will be statues built in honor of these musicians.
I wasn't trolling roach! Nor was I spamming. I know damn well who wrote this beautiful song. It's nice to see people who still down vote idiots, who have no clue about real music.
I truly hope he takes good care of it. John Raitt (papa of Bonnie) was a broadway star who overstayed his voice and did a painful appearance on Boston pops. We just have to keep those boys oiled up and rested...when they stop touring,, we will be the poorer, and those poor women who ger all zoopy over justin and the rest will have to ...hmmm..what WILL they do ?
Nothing tells the quality of a vocalist the way an acousitc, unamplified, un augmented session does.
I just finished setting a Mike Oldfield fan straight about Mr. Hayward here...as being superior on git-fiddle (hillbilly for guitar)..and now, I extend a challenge to the rock/pop world for others to stand to this level.
This is my fave band period..since 1970..12 concerts..every one better than the last. Best place to see em...Finger Lakes NY-on the grass-not under the shell.Tom-Utica NY

This song blew me away in 1966, and continues to do so. Imagine being able to see it sung-you couldn't back then.

Incredible to see the creative process of this songs origins...the song itself is beautiful -add the incredible bass line and Mellotron and ...wow.
MightySaturn5 2 years ago 3
Still one of the most beautiful songs ever written, but this really underlines how much Mike Pinder's Mellotron part added to the song.
